  • TenPoint Crossbows released 3 new crossbows during the 2020 ATA Show, the Viper S400, Vengent S440, and the super fast Vapor RS470. All 3 crossbows come with their brand new, safe de-cocking system. We got a look at the Viper S400, and we were blown away. Like the name, the Viper S400 can shoot at speeds of up to 400fps.

I’m looking at getting this crossbow. I love shooting the Ravin r29 and i love it’s size but i am really drawn to the safety aspect of how the TenPoint cocks and de-cocks. I’ve seen several reports of people getting hurt with the Ravin as they were cocking and de-cocking.

Fella made a mistake. Once bow is cocked, you then reverse the crank lever 3 turns to release pressure on the trigger box in order to have a consistant pressure when fully cocked. See Tenpoint instructions to verify that what I say is correct. This guy needs to read his instructions before dong a demo. Young guy without senior wisdom.

Absolutely! The DFI can catch the line and you have to mess with the cocking and decocking mechanism. There is also a black button underneath the handle area that u push on the third roll back after hearing the first click when cocking the bow.

I bought a TenPoint as my first bow, and I will never buy another one. It survived 3 days and 5 bolts before exploding on me.
We were able to zero the bow at the store before buying it, which took about 5 shots. Then 3 days later I took my brand new crossbow out to the public hunting lands for the white tail opener. I got out to my spot, I watched a massive buck get about 80 yards away from me, so I started to carefully draw my crossbow using the AcuDraw system. About 80% of the way through the draw, the AcuDraw system came apart, launching he claw in to my foot, ripping off the bolt retention arm, and snapping my bow string. Thankfully I was wearing boots and thick pants or I probably would have been going to hospital over that one. Needless to say, the buck got away.
Repairs will take 3-4 weeks, and TenPoint is doing nothing to stand behind their “craftsmanship.”
Trusting TenPoint cost me my archery season

They may of taken the idea off of Raven but Raven customers are pissed because the new limbs are cracking and Raven wont replace them . They want to charge you for them . So I wont be buying a Raven anytime soon .

You know it's really too bad TenPoint Crossbows couldn't come up with these ideas on their own they have just copied Ravin crossbow about as much as anybody can't

Actually PSE has the rights for the crank system, Ravin and Ten Point have to pay to use it. The front end of the bow belongs to Ten Point Ravin has to pay to use it altough the Ravin was out first TP had the design submitted first.

I bought this product 5 days ago. Took it out yesterday to sight it in. Within a handful of shots the acuslide cord started to fray. 4 to 8 weeks for a repair and I now miss bow season after spending thousands. I will NEVER recommend this company or any products. Terrible. As a Canadian customer they told me to politely F off and I have to deal with a service center locally. Can't even buy the part myself from them. I also have to pay labor and shipping costs. I wish I never bought from this company.

The R10 sounds like a roller coaster when you are cocking it, garbage.
