Bilbo: "My dear Bagginses and Boffins, Tooks and Brandybucks, Grubbs, Chubbs, Hornblowers, Bolgers, Bracegirdles and Proudfoots." [cheers]
Old Proudfoot Hobbit: "Proudfeet!"
Straight out da Shire. haha
What a down to earth guy. Enjoyed that. Thanks Andertons 🎸🎸🔈🔉🔊
This guitarist is never brought up in conversation..but he is simply incredible! Thanks for some amazing playing Glenn🎸🎸🎸
So glad you're givin' force to Glenn, he really deserve more visibility and recognition
Next on Andertons TV: The Captain reacts to Crossroads. :-)
Great vid! Next time, Captain meets Peter Honoré!
Thank You Capt. for what you do. This interview was great for me, the info from 32 min. to 39 min. was personally revealing. One of those moments , that the light comes on. It's wonderful when the artist is given a chance to speak openly and candid!
Great guitarist. Never heard of him but will check him out. Cheers
Man, I love these vids. Perfect for a Sunday! May the great guests keep on comin'!
Thanks Andertons - keep bringing these amazing lesser known artists to our attention!
What a solid, down to earth bloke! Gonna check out his new album for sure :3
I LOVE that you didn't cut out the bit about Big Wreck! I love actual conversation mixed with your awesome interview skills. Love it!
Glen... great job. Stay up...
Keep up the fantastic work
I lol'ed to the description of this video :D Glenn is a fantastic player. It was nice to get to know him more
Enjoyable interview. Good to see Glenn get some more exposure to his talent.
Amazing!!! We want more of these!!!
This is brilliant! Thank you for introducing me to another guitarist I wish I was 😂. Lee your interviewing technique is so refreshing, absolutely love the way you don’t have your questions written down so it’s more of a conversation that an interview. So many interviewers don’t listen to the answers they are getting as their head is down reading the next question. Awesome video 🤘
Never heard of this dude. But damm.... he can play......
jan de man echt hè! That tone! Dayumm!
So glad Glenn mentioned Tommy E and told a story about them working together. As an Aussie guitar hack who loves both Glenn’s and Tommy’s playing I was hoping that their collaborations would be mentioned!
This video was my introduction Glenn Proudfoot and its not only his playing that I loved. Just seems like a very grounded guy. Really enjoyed his thoughts about being a diverse player because sometimes you need that. Looking forward to exploring more of his music!
I've been waiting for this one!
This guy is amazing and should be way bigger than ever.
This guy is great. Very likeable and a great guitarist. I didn't want it to end. Excellent stuff Captain.
Humble and great guitar guy. Never heard if him but will def check it out.
superlative...thanks Andertons!
Some of the best rock tone you've recorded yet
Glenn is an out of this world guitarist. His track 'Perfect', is one of my all time favourites. Fantastic homage to Eric Johnson.
His solo/lead tone is killer.
This is the best one....he is an outstanding guitarist
Glen is an amazing player I been following him probably 6yrs or more now. I was shocked to see him on here .. great video
haha same dude, great to see him get more exposure!
I just want to mention that thumbnail, it's great!
Don't have time to watch the video yet, but I had to click.
THANK YOU!!
I almost didn’t watch this because I had no idea who Glenn Proudfoot is, but I’m glad that I did. What an amazing guitar player!
Captain meets is the best. Pete Thorn would be awesome. Or John Suhr
John Osborne has he met Phil X already ? That would be great !!
Check out Tone Talk for Pete Thorn and John Suhr: Dave Friedman is the cohost.
Need an update with this amazing musician!
Wow, this guy can shred!
Gotta love that he plays a strat.
Glenn Proudfoot - Woo Hoo - didn't see this coming - nice one!
You gotta get EJ to Meet with you, Lee. In the meantime Rabea and Matt should attempt a Sound Like.
This guys is .......so cool. New album out too.
Glen's a lovely fella and an awesome talent on the instrument. How can Lee have never watched the only big Hollywood movie about our beloved instrument? FOR SHAME :-D ;-)
Shredding isn't my thing but he sure can play, seems like a nice guy too. Great interview.
love that white Strat neck pickup
Don't feel bad capt I didn't see crossroads all the way through yet. I'm 32 and have been playing guitar almost four years. Lol Rob and Rabea are why I watched it.
Most underrated guitarist period
Bloody Bonza Mate!!!!
Jeff Beck Because we ended as lovers on the Blow by Blow album is by far one of the most incredible Jeff Beck songs ever.
It's a stevie wonder song
W S
Yep... and it’s a great interpretation.
Proudfoot did a brief Guitar World column a few years ago and his technique is fantastic. Somewhat like Blues Saraceno with a similar warm tone, some shades of Eric Johnson and some killer Paul Gilbert diminished stretches. The shredding torch has been passed!
\m/ About time GP got some exposure to a UK audience! It would be great to see Dan Patlansky
Can we get a captain meets Danish Pete or Bea or even Chappers. I know we get to see them on the channel all the time but I would like to see them interviewed about how they got into guitar and all that.
That sounds like scraping the barrel. Too bloody phony.
I wish these were audio only podcasts as well
Straight outta da Shire. Proudfoot!
Captain meets Clapton. Make the captains dream come true!!!!
haha awesome, can't believe u guys got Glenn on, unreal orange peel! Cheers from Darwin!
Aussie Aussie Aussie!
You should seriously consider looking Glen Proudfoot up. His collabs with Johnny Hiland and Tommy Emmanuel are just mindblowing.
Glenn is a beast on guitar.
Lee, you should start getting these guys to sign your strat.
Glen should look into getting a Proanalog Manitore, if he likes the Klon clarity but then also might want a bit more range too. Great player. Not knowing Ian Thornley is Glen's moment that's similar to The Captain never watching Crossroads.
What a guitar sound! Was that just from a klon and the victory??
I'm a brand new Glen Proudfoot fan. Now I have to find a way to make the diminished scale sound musical.. I think the key is in the '3 notes per string' Glen mentioned...
Glad to Glenn getting his due respect
I'm embarassed to say i'v never heard of him. WOW, this guys something else!!
What is the name of the overdrive thk
So Captain Anderton, did we figure out what his neck and middle pickups are? And also, which brand/gauge of strings is he using? He picks near the neck pickup where the string is pretty slinky, so I wonder if he uses 10's or 11's or something for stiffness and quick snap back.
Ted Rackley I took some lessons from him in 2011/12, I have a strong memory of him saying they were Malmsteen signatures, but given he says he doesn’t remember he might’ve changed them... but he also said in this interview he doesn’t connect to the neoclassical style.. so take what you will from that
Why you didn’t film the Captin watching the crossroads duel!?
His skills are reasonably well developed.
What pedals are Glenn using here? That delay sounds great.
I think I saw the Captain took a picture with Glenn before saying that a Captain Meets videos is out soon in mid 2017 or something. Why does this one took you guys so long though? Just being curious hehe
Top guy, love his reaction to the jazz pickup and his utter shock at the Crossroads revelation :-) Btw - GET PETE THORN ON! Pete Thorns 'Guitar Nerd' album is my favourite instrumental album, listen to that one Captain!
Mr. Proudfoot loves that Mixolydian mode!
damn he can shred. he makes me want a flatter radius on my strat
Holly shreddy!!
Broken is a fantastic song
That fringe tho!
What is that black thing he has on the third fret and what does it do
He should try a Charvel So Cal and a Knaggs Severn. He’d like my Hamer Mirage probably. Great neck.
i want those pickups... anyone know what they are?
Dimarzio evolution
Also, how flat is his fingerboard radius? And I guess the Super Vee BladeRunner has to be the same radius?
You should do another Jared James Nichols he's in the UK touring right now
This cat is a veritable master of the Mixolydian!
Hey Lee I've got a first year of production Klon centaur I'd sell you for fair money. Or do a deal against a Gibson 335?
How come you changed your tap finger?
Would be great to do Captain meets Captain Sensible?
So Glen's fretboard has been flattened,
i was wondering if it was completely flat like a classical guitar?
And, has a big piece of carbon fibre also been added? ...
..it looks like there's a black strip that disappears under where the neck joins the body
Great interview, I'm jealous of him having a place in Prague→ possibly my favorite city.
Cheers
;~) England
Awesome player and a top bloke. Great interview as always captain. Now go and watch crossroads you heathen!
Wish I had this lastname😍
Captain meets dan patlansky?
Darren C Yes!!! Get this to the top!
The real test is to listen to these RUclips demos blindfolded and see how long your listening attention is held musically. Then do the same with Blow by Blow, or Ah Via Musicom, or even the live side of Wheels of Fire. Eventually you’ll become a Miles Davis listener. This is not a bad thing.
When will the Captain meet John Mayer???
As far as instrumental albums go, I could listen to Tubular Bells on a daily basis
This is too bizzare literally just found the song "Gatton" by this guy yesterday....NOW THERES A CAPTAIN MEETS WTF THIS IS EPIC.
It'd be rad to see Mateus Asato on here if he's ever in the area.
Great video....can you get Greta van fleet in please? They are in the uk in march
Someone just sold a CD. Let's see when it arrives in good old Germany, haha.
That lick also sounded to me like Eric Johnson!
What's the name of the canadian prog band? my english is very bad!
Rush?
MauRodrgues Big Wreck
Glenn Proudfoot deserve to be more renowned
Meets Alex Lifeson if possible please! :)
Joey Busnardo facelift
Owe yeah! My favorite album cover by one of my favorite bands!
Good luck with that one....
Mister Tee what?
Mister Tee If Lee can meet players like John Petrucci, why not Alex Lifeson?
Great player. Jeebus.
Jeff Beck, Wired. Oh. My. God.
