One of the best British rock guitarist...massively overlooked and underrated.
Well done captain! !
@adam nelson your a fud
@adam nelson thunder are playing at download (donnington park) again this year their 3rd visit! never been bottled off stage! unlike van halen! HA HA YANKS CAN'T PLAY!
Agreed. And I hang my head in shame that Thunder has never been truly recognized in the US. But, I suppose the Brits are happy with that. Can't say I blame you.
Laughing on Judgement Day is a criminally underated rock album. Not a bad song on it, just great riffs, songwriting and vocals from start to finish.
LOJD is my favorite Thunder album too. Best guitar tone and every song is pure magic.
"Down to the CITY where the desperate people go".. (A gem)
Backstreet Symphony is still a gem. Great album.
Wow! I certainly wasn't expecting this. More people should be aware of just how fucking awesome this band is!
I think Danny is one the uk's finest rock vocalists, this just confirms it for me, brilliant version of a brilliant song, thanks to everyone who made this possible, great start to my Sunday! 🤘
Fantastic Thunder one of my all time favourite bands 100% class act good catch Captain 👏👏
As an American I never understood why this band failed to make any mark in the US. Now I know why. Same old story, a record company exec who is too smart for the room screwing up careers. Nice interview, nice guy, awesome band.
Luke Morley, legend. Brilliant guitarist. Thanks to you both for doing this.
Saw Thunder support Jovi at Wembley....they were effin awesome, always have been 🤘
Loved every minute of the interview - and how good does Danny's voice sound - wow!
This is my man, fellow lefty guitar god! 48:20 LOL!
Bloody love these videos! And what rock royalty to have with you Lee. Brilliant!
Morely is a guitar god, but he even manages to top that by writing loads and loads of briliant songs. The guy is an underrated gem.
Steel Panther are in town next month I believe, with Slash on his way over shortly after. If you can get a meet with Satchel or Slash.....
Satchel would be a legendary interview, I dunno if he could keep the act up for a full hour interview though, lol
@@macgibbon What act? :D
I actually think that the next person (or one of the next people) that the Captain will meet is Marty Friedman. He's doing a master class in Guilford next month and apparently it's hosted by Andertons
One of my favourite bands of the 80's and 90's
Great interview and crackin performance at the end, Danny's voice still bringing the feels after all these years.
More of this please Captain.
Nice Video. How about a Captain meets Dave Murray from Iron Maiden?
Yes!! Listening to Luke’s cockney twang I thought “Captain meets Steve Harris and Adrian Smith would be extremely cool!!”
I only just discovered Backstreet Symphony very recently through a ‘Best Rock albums of the 90s’ article and it’s a worthy inclusion. Really enjoyed this vid. What a thoroughly nice chap and great to hear about a success story in this vein. Bravo!
Brilliant performance at the end by true rock legends
Brought a tear to my eye.. that was so good.
Awesome video, LOVE Thunder ! Fly On The Wall (off Behind Closed Doors) has been my cellphone ringtone for the last 15 years or so...big fan. And Danny Bowes...what an amazing voice ! They both look like super nice, down to earth guys. And that acoustic version of She's So Fine was great (especially with the mishap on vocals and the laughter afterwards).
And yeah, massively underrated and overlooked band, with great players and even better songs.
I have Backstreet Symphony the first album from Thunder it's freaking awesome one of my best CDs.
I really like this gentleman! His playing and songwriting is always classy and qualitative! I have all Thunder, Union, Bowes & Morley and solo albums. My secret guitar hero for more than a decade.
I saw Terraplane back in 85, supporting Meatloaf at the Newcastle City Hall. It was the tour when Meatloaf had the big motorcycle set, so Terraplane ended up with just six feet of stage in front of the curtain! They were great though. Saw Thunder in 2004 supporting Deep Purple at the Birmingham NEC, much more polished show. Good to see them still at it!
Wonderful. Luke and Ben do some amazing amazing stuff. Loved them since the 80s.
Great interview, thanks! Here in 2021, Thunder are releasing their new album next week and it sounds really good and very fresh.
I met Luke once after a show and he chats to everyone just like this, what a nice bloke.
What a top fella. I've not really explored Thunder too much but I will be now. Their singer has some magnificent pipes, what a voice.
In the realm of under-appreciated guitarists, Luke Morley is under-appreciated. He is, quite simply, one of the best. What he plays and the way he plays... that's rock and roll.
Always find listening to the old school rockers a real treat! These guys had an experience of true production value & creativity that is s badly missing in today's times. Awesome interview and wish them all the best for the upcoming album.
AMAZING !!!!!! GREAT START TO THE YEAR !!!!!!
Don’t know how I missed this at the time....another great Anderton’s watch and what a way to finish👍🏻 I remember seeing Thunder back in the day at Hammersmith Odeon ....they certainly can still knock out a tune 😁😁
Awesome interview with Luke here Cap’! Off to cardiff to see them this Thursday. 😊😊😊😊
2021... and it is STILL "All The Right Noises".....
This is one of those vocal performances that would squash your dreams of being a vocalist if you were young and starting out...lol. My God.
Love these videos.
Simply outstanding, Gents.
Great episode!!!
Died and gone to heaven, my two fave things in one video
cool band Thunder ,never really big in the netherlands but i saw 'm a few times on a festival very solid band !!!
Nice to see the Thunder boys on Andertons TV.... nice one guys!
Great chat. Thanks for leaving the blooper in the track, gives it character. Off to revisit their stuff ...
very enjoyable plus a great song to end
Love Thunder so much ....britain's best kept secret .....awesome cheers
WTF!?! Goosebumps all over! Pls come to Germany after the whole Corona shit. And pls don't hit the German fans with a stool! If you are doing a rock song unplugged you very fast realize its substance. Great tunes. Thx to the Captain for this amazing interview with the cherry on the top at the end.
great background, super track ...cool
Class.
Really great!
Superb !
The Captain Meets Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden?
Found a new fan out here in Sunset Utah
Capt makes a great point about the music industry then and now
Cracking version of She's So Fine!
great songwriting!
Is there a better singer around. I don't think so! Just seen Luke and Danny in scarborough what a great acoustic performance!
Magic
Great stuff! Good music :)
great interview
Very interesting interview. Thunder are a great rock band. When they supported Bon Jovi and Def leopard they were definately the star turn.
What a cool band.
Shit hot!! Takes me back a lot of years to when I was A better man.
Saw T.Rex, got a 10 quid nylon strung guitar... same as me. Top lad, bloody great band!
Okay i know it probably wont happen, but please i would love to see The Captain meets his hero (Clapton). That would make my year!
P.S. This was good also!
Yeeessss Thunder are so good :) Such a shame literally as Dirty Love started getting play in the US , Nirvana came and destroyed everything !! :) :)
Nice Job...
Seen Thunder recently and a band called KING KING were the support with a front man called Alan Nimmo, check them out as they have just been signed to a big US label.
That's wild I just rediscovered THUNDER a few weeks ago. And just had a T-Shirt sent over to me in the USA!! These guys are AMAZING STILL!!!! SAME GUYS FROM THE START. Right?
Almost. The original bass player, Mark 'Snake' Luckhurst, left the band in '92.
@@mbeddoe sweet thank you!! That's still pretty amazing. Most can't make it 5 years lol !!!
Cool
Can you please look into the Vintage brand for us? Thanks
Seems like a nice guy
Can't argue with that. Met him briefly a few years back and he gave me a handful of free beer vouchers that the venue had given all the bands playing. haha
@@batman8293 sounds great I'm jealous
🙏😎🎸
Saw Thunder at Monsters of rock with Alice Cooper, Thunder edged it, Just. Huge fan of both. ROCK ON!
Long distance information, give me Memphis, Tennessee.
Only heard of them the other year when guitarist from terrorvision told me they were supporting thunder
love the fact people click on this video just to say something irrelevant like DO BUCKET HEAD OR SOMEONE NOT THIS GUY !
Any chance of making these Captain Meets videos into podcasts? Would love to listen on my daily commute. Thx
Levguitar I listen in the car all the time I just don’t watch the video while driving. Basically the same thing just harder on your battery :-)
Nice! :-) Steve Rothery would be cool.
Lets Share some thunder on facebook ....
Wonder what happened to the Union? They were a great band.
Luke’s famous quote: “do the other Thunder guys get upset that I get more money due to the songwriting royalties? Only if they crash their Escorts into my Porsche...”
Thought they were going into Last Train to Clarksvillle when they started the song.
Can you have a Cptn meet Michael Lemmo, he just released an album and has a big RUclips following. It'd be nice to learn his background.
Another great Luke Morley interview here: ruclips.net/video/dW6oTwjiuO8/видео.html
What happened to today's (Feb 10) episode? It was there, then I clicked and it said unavailable, now it's just gone?
Blimey, I thought Danny could talk - Luke obviously relished the opportunity. Great way to spend 50 minutes - love it. Danny next; perhaps a couple of hours should be set aside!
Left is right "
Description: "Luke Morely" => "Luke Morley"
Please do some shootouts on some ''heavier'' guitars
The Captain meets a salad
Gotta get Vernon Reid on here
Next: meet Matt Bellamy
Im 13mins late to the party.
Love Thunder, not many better than Danny Bowes live period
Asda
Even after watching this whole thing im left asking...
Who is this guy?
DDub 64 you obviously weren’t a rock fan at the end of the 80s :). Thunder were gonna be the next big British thing, they had a smash hit debut album in the Uk Backstreet Symphony) opened Monsters Of Rock, had songs on the radio & MTV, they were the future...then as he says, grunge happened....
Never heard of him.
That's the point.
byebyebeano Really?? Maybe next week they can have The Captain meets me......no one has heard of me either.
Need a nice delay for 100-150 dollars. Tap tempo is a must. Ideas guys?
who the hell is Thunder? don't think I'll sit through 50 minutes worth...
Oh man they are one of the BEST 80's Rock and Roll band you've moved heard of. If you like just good old Rock. Then check them out. They really are good.
" Love walked in " is one of my fav songs!!! Hope I didn't waste your time.😳😇
