Between Vishy and the current youngers, there was a void space in chess where people were interested but capital weren't there with least support from the govt./sponsors.. vidit was only top elite player at that time from India keeping chess spirit alive. Still he fight like a champion for every match! True inspiration.

@@swapniltelang2445 magnus at 32 is already a goat . He became legend way back when he was 26-27 . Because chess is a long journey, ur brain is trained since u are very small to be that good at chess, because only little minds are really honest to anything they do and they learn it with their heart while enjoying it. Vidit might have played atleast 17-18 years of professional chess by now, it's enough to call him a veteran, seeing his achievements and him being a super gm puts him into legend category for his accomplishments and experience.

Vidit does look so much more relaxed than in the past. He has always been a rock solid player (now has an undefeated streak over multiple Olympiads). But this performance was quite something. He seemed really motivated till the last moment.
This team seemed like a genuinely positive space that brought out the best in everyone. You could see the rapport between Vidit and the "youngsters", him joking around, pushing Gukesh to do THE dance that's being played on all news channels right now. The way he seems genuinely proud of Gukesh and Arjun while talking of their performance. As Sagar said, this moment has brought so much joy to everyone and that's what Vidit always managed to do and why so many of us became attached to the sport in the first place.
Also, Srinath and Vidit are a fabulous team that needs to be mentioned. Srinath seems to understand Vidit's mindspace better than anyone else. Looking forward to this team again at GCL.

Your only weakness in my simplistic view, which is obviously just coming from observation and not from understanding of chess, is your time management and tendency to blunder under time pressure even in Classical. To be very honest, I’ve never heard Vidit appreciate the youngsters before (and it’s natural why) but I’m very happy this event brought them together and seeing Vidit’s little but important actions where genuine support and care was shown towards the youngsters was very visible and yes, *this* was the X factor that set team India apart. They were actually a strong team with genuine bonding - otherwise US had top players too but you could sense a lack of team bonding

I dont understand chess at all..i mean i know how the pieces move, n that's it. I even have to search for the mentions on the board when someone says, eg., knight g 5😅..
Yet.. I watch all the matches..start to end..for 5 to 6 hrs..thanks to the commentary done during the matches that helps me understand what to expect and most importantly the amazing chess that that our players are playing..
The thrill of watching the games are to another level..literally even feeling my hands getting cold at times out of nervousness...
The level of competition n the effort for such a result despite having to face the toughest teams as opponents was truly felt..
Vidit, Gukesh, Prag, Arjun, Hari, Divya, Vantika, Vaishali, Harika, Tania n all the coaches n other support staffs.. THANK YOU guys for the win..bcoz of which we were able to watch our national anthem being played at such a big stage..it was truly historic..it just makes one so happy, proud, and leaves one teary-eyed..thank uu so much guys..❤
N of course big shout out to CBI..ur reels n clips that popped up was what introduced me to the chess matches..Sagar sir n Amruta ma'am big thanks to u too for all the efforts put in...💜💜💜
