    We have 3 guys who just played candidates and a guy who is ranked higher than all of them representing our country in the Olympiad. I don’t think there is any team which can boast that. Our 4th board is a candidate. I don’t think that has ever happened before in the history of Olympiad. It would be tragedy if they don’t get the gold this time around. Especially with US struggling to win their games against far less superior opponents, this team stands a great chance. Lastly I hope the tournament organizers are watching the Hunter of this Olympiad and are ready to finally give him invites to the big tournaments. 6 out of 6. Arjun torturing his opponents from dead equal position to win the game. That is what Magnus does. Great to see young guns taking the chess world by storm. 2800 incoming soon for Arjun.

    The incredible part is that when you see the players from India together, they all seem to like or respect one another. We rarely ever see U.S. players together like this. They can barely even comment together without their envy showing.

    • @rjesh2062

      You dont know them, I def think US players also respect each other. They are not donkeys

    • @AlexanderNevermind888
      @AlexanderNevermind888 3 месяца назад +17

      Nah...Up until recently Nakamura had disdain for almost all of the other US players. Until Magnus started humbling him, he acted as if he was superior to Fabi and Wesley, and was the best in the world. I think the US women get along better, but you don't really see a deep camaraderie among them unless you see Jennifer Wu interacting with Alice Lee or something. It's hard not to cheer for the players from India. They seem to have a level of humility that American chess players don't have.

    • @rjesh2062
      @rjesh2062 3 месяца назад +4

       @AlexanderNevermind888 Hikaru is always a bad representation of sportsmanship, but all the other players are cool to each other. Also Hans is a little annoying. But Fabi, Wesley, Levon all are very good

    • @AlexanderNevermind888
      @AlexanderNevermind888 3 месяца назад +2

      Wesley's very likeable, and he's probably one of the players I always root for. Not because of his style (as lately he's become the American version of Anish Giri), but because of his humility. Fabi, I've always liked. He exudes intelligence, and I think that's one of the reasons why that podcast is so likeable. He's one of those guys that you would stop and listen to in a crowded room. I also like Levon and Lenier. They don't have the typical American chess arrogance, probably because they are from different cultures, which is refreshing. I don't think Hans deserves to be in this group, because though he thinks he's as good or better than they are, I don't even see him as close. Those matches against Magnus and Hikaru slapped a muzzle on some of his arrogance talk.

    Sagar bhai what is this TB ponit, how it's work, please explain it. THANKS

    • @scarecrow_fang
      @scarecrow_fang 3 месяца назад

      TB stands for tie breaks - the system used to decide the order of the team standings in case two or more teams have scored the same number of points.
      In case of current event:
      Matchpoints - each team scores 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss. After round 6 India is at 12 match points in open and 12 match points in women section; while no other teams have 12 match points in either section. Team India is the sole leader in both sections.
      In case two teams have equal match points, we have TB1 - TB1 is calculated as a sum of (Game points scored against each opponent × Match scored by that opponent); excluding the opponent with least performance. That is, at the end of all round (i.e. 11) your top ten opponents are considered to determine TB1 score.
      For instance, both China and Vietnam have 11 match point but their TB1 score are 119 and 123 respectively. Therefore, Vietnam is placed second and China third. (India's TB1 scores are 145.6 in open section and 137 in women section.)
      In case Matchpoints and TB1 scores are equal, we have TB2: It is simply the sum of all game points of all matches. In each match, for each board, 1 point for win, 1/2 point for draw and 0 point for loss are awarded. India won with two wins and two draws in round 6 open section, so 3 point are added to total game points (1 + 1 + 1/2 + 1/2). India has 21 and 18.5 game points in open and women section respectively.
      TB3: It is the sum of the matchpoints of 10 teams opponents, excluding the team opponent with the lowest
      number of matchpoints. 10 teams since there will be 11 rounds and we exclude lowest scoring team. This means the team with higher TB3 has opponents who have scored high, i.e. this team has played against stronger opponents, so they should be placed higher.
      For example, in open section India has played Morocco (6), Iceland (8), Hungary B (7), Serbia (10), Azerbaijan (8) and Hungary (10) in the first six rounds. The number in the brackets after each country are their matchpoints after round 6. Excluding the lowest, Morocco, 8 + 7 + 10 + 8 +10 = 43.Therefore, India's TB3 in open section is 43. TB3 score for India in women section is 46.
