well he consider to be top 10 player of all time in chess come on its like u saying sangakara , msdhoni, in cricket and anand maybe point other team like he did ,well come on he is saying that he was tired of seeing phones that maybe give him spy mode of chess base india phone recording on table stand openly so maybe he was not aware of regulation but now he want to change that and camera should only be there, hence sagar should need to upgrade in 2026 and he just need upgradation in security and seriously take care of electronic devices near player, which is true, this can happen and it is world where through cheating many are good but from cheating they became very super so yeah need of hour

All the drama aside. Let's not forget that Vladimir played a huge in Vishy's title defence against Topalov (even though he had lost the previous World Chess Championship to him). He joined his team of seconds in that Championship ( Vishy's team had: Nielsen, Kasimdzhanov, Ganguly, Wojtaszek, Kasparov and Carlson)
Class act from the Legend and well done to Sagar for resolving this situation so calmly and maturely.

I am a follower of chessbase India and was upset that kramnik complained.
But, I am an instructor in a college and I share the same opinion as kramnik. I said no phone/internet for an exam, and I see lots of kids checking their phone during the exam.
Some of them checking some reels. I mean, can't you abstain for 40 minutes until the exam finishes?
Again, it's not about cheating. It's about discipline.

@@randomvlog2783 I think you missed the point. It's not about the phone being unapproved or that chessbase India cheated.
It is about how allowing phones into the venue compromises the integrity of the event. You can google up 1000 ways of a phone without internet but still having a decent engine on it.
Imagine some random player cheating using such a phone and how it might lead to people questioning serious aspirants/players.

In 2024, using phones and filming videos during chess events is becoming more common, and ultimately, it’s a positive development for the game. It increases visibility, attracts more viewers, and can drive broader popularity. More exposure means more sponsorship opportunities, helping chess grow as both a sport and an entertainment medium.

thats probably true however he has some bad reputation of loose remarks against many opponents in the past . even most of the global chess community lambasted and chided him for his recent comments as also FIDE had cleared any doubts. if at all such points should ideally be raised strongly before such a big tournament begins. if any one starts making accusations direct or indirect during a tournament without proofs then sparks might fly no matter whosoever it is.

Great video by Sagar - you can clearly see there is good history between the 2. lot of comments here are poking fun at Kramnik , bit understandable but I think he has some valid points - having media in the play hall is bit too much as it could be distracting to some players. Kramniks point seems valid in that aspect as you dont see that in any other sport - when players are competing media is not so close to players in none of the other sports but at the same time Sagar and his team have raised lot of awareness around chess so it should not be discouraged. important to find balance across the 2.
