hi Anish, my 'burning' question for you: in your years in Japan, you must have learned to play Go! Do you still follow it by any bit, from a corner of your eye? --> Some GM's are not bad at it, like amateur sho-dan's: Tiger Hillarp Person and foremost former world number two Aleksander Matusevich, who both took part in the yearly Open European Championship a few years back. BTW, A.M. won their exhibition match by twice 2-0.
Everything Kramnik has done so far shows he is not concerned about the integrity of chess, as you present it, but that he is only concerned about the integrity of his incredibly disproportionate ego, which can't handle losing online games against lesser known players. Kramnik's crusade has nothing to do with stopping cheating, and to imply anyone could somehow meet him "in the middle" is really a sign of a profound misunderstanding of the situation.
@@Ashishization1 What? Even I agree with this and I'm Norwegian. Vishy just seems like a super normal dude that happened to be the best chess player in the world at some point. Magnus is nowhere near the insanity of Fischer and Kramnik obviously, but he has his outbursts and immature tendencies.

I love when Anish was trying to promote that app.. "Uh I have been told that non-professionals also play chess. These guys want me to invest in some app, that they want to build, for connecting these supposed non professional players, and I think your viewers may one day want to check that out... maybe"
I think Anish's words about Mangus' chess and psychology strength is spot on. The example I thought of was when Magnus played Hans in the Sinquefield Cup. He got into a complicated/worse position against Hans and didn't defend well, costing him the game. We all have an idea of what was going through his head during that game based on his actions afterwards.
Anish seems like a cool guy. Like his line about the driving instructor asking if he wanted to drive in silence, as the two players weren't sure if they should be talking or not.
This is inspiring! Hearing Anish talk about how knowledgeable Vishy was is quite inspiring. The pursuit of knowledge is very noble indeed. Off to read a book on history, probably the Crusades. I love history
Thank you for bringing so much great content to chess. You really have a talent for making people comfortable and have them answer interesting questions.
Not an international CM, though. I have a national CM title, not the FIDE CM title, so unfortunately I cannot play in Titled Tuesdays (yet, until I’ve gotten my FM title)
@@MustreaderChess BTW I honestly believe that there is a strong possibility he really cheated there, it's not just kind of joke or trolling content for me. And I judge it by his behaviour, his way of arguing which is so "Russian propaganda" style in general. There's been so many details when you can see that he's actually not into finding the TRUTH (And that's even regardless of if he's right about some players or not - I'm talking about him always completely ignoring facts that would not support his point). Also he's accussing opponents about things he does himself (like - playing victim about being bullied while HE's the actuall bully one). So it's obvious that he is NOT a honest person in general. So I really thing he would be capable of doing something illegal there at his home country. And maybe that's actually the main reason of his actions now .

I don't see how online chess are different from other e-sports. If people cheat in e-sports on every level (including sim-racing, lol) I don't see why chess should have significatnly less cheating then any other e-sport. Frankly, it's way easier to cheat in chess than in other games.
With all due respect for your outstanding talent and playing strength, dear Anish, Karpov would win a match with you by a good margin. Sure you'd get good positions out of the opening, but as a practical player, peak Karpov was one of the best ever. He'd just outplay you in the middlegame, and win from equal'ish endings, a little like Magnus does.
Anish's take on Kramnik is wrong. Kramnik makes false accusations without any evidence. Why should anyone meet with him in the "middle"? How could this even be done?

Giri is one of the most articulate GMs and loads of fun to listen to.
Smartest guy in chess.
Anish looks like the most comfortable person to talk to. Easily approachable and a funny person most of the time.
It's a pleasure to hear Anish bring humour and insight together. Please have him back !
Anish is such an interesting person!! Definitely would love a second episode, will share this one with friends.
Part 2 please, I can hear Anish all day. Thanks Greg, you're doing a great job ❤ !!!!
Definitely a part 2. Would love to hear his thoughts about his occasional side quest of chess commentating
I was just searching for chess podcasts with Anish, and then this came out next day. Thanks - on demand! Oh - yes please do part 2
Anish for FIDE President! With his energy, understanding, humility and international and biz experience!
We definitely need a Part 2, quickly: You forgot to ask Anish about Ding vs Gukesh, and his thoughts on that!!!
Amazing job Greg, to see how you develop your channel, the more and more top players take a part on your podcasts. Thank you!
Pls make the second video. It's pretty interesting to see chess world through the lens of Anish .
Great interview! Looking forwards to part 2. Giri gives the best interviews of any top players, not even close.
Yes, we want part 2, 3, …
20:00 No wonder why everone want to listen to Vishy. He emits an aura of pure brilliance.
ONLY TO THE NON BRILLIANT
Another great podcast, maybe part 2 can be in person? Super!
Part 2 needed
I see Anish, I watch
Glad to see this interview! Thanks
dude, that kramnik poping out of nowhere made me jumpscare haha. giri is awesome.
Leaving a comment for part 2 :) .
Vishy probably the sanest chess world champion in the last 20 years
There's a reason magnus rated him 10/10 when it comes to sanity, while placing himself significantly lower.
