There is already a place to mount the trolling motor on the rear passenger side seat, sun dolphin comes stock with that in all of their paddle boats just saying
Crochet Happy if you are looking at it from the front, if you look at the passenger side rear seat you will see it is flat and the other one is rounded, that flat part is to put your trolling motor on
Yes, thank you! I called the manufacturer and they told me! My husband tried the other side! Yes, why is everyone then building this? BTW, I have been on here looking for a self made ramp --something to sit ont he grass to slide the boat on and off. Haven't found anything. It's just a lot of effort to lift the boat from the grass and get it int he water! Any suggestions?
If you put it on the side does it make it drift more to one side or anything? Also do you steer it with the paddle boat steer handle, or with the trolling motor
*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*
I used toggle bolts the kind that use a small hole like breakable wire ties on them = smaller hole than normal I made the board too high at first I only needed about 4 inches
I only had the boat for a year but it did seem to hold up well . We sold the boat because it was too small for us . I used the snap toggle bolts for mounting because they use a much smaller hole than regular toggle bolts . If I were to do it again I would find a way to steer from the front .
2 large L brackets and some zip tie anchors they are the kind of toggle bolts that have zip ties in them so you can drill a much smaller hole and not loose as much strength in the plastic . And a 2x5 the 2x6 was too high
love the simplicity. thanks for posting

where is that? I just got one and don;t see it. The older model we had had a more level surface to mount motor. The new one is an issue

did you screw into the frame or did you bolt them in? do the L brackets make it so u dont need to bolt the screws?

We just got the same boat. How is this mount holding up? Any issues with having drilled holes in the boat?

this mount was too tall for the 3.5 hp gas outboard I had to shorten it
Boyette White what type screws did you used to mount to the boat. I have the same boat and need to figure out a mount. how does it work ?
Ricardo Veloz I used snap toggles they use a smaller hole when drilling into the plastic next time I would use a wider 2x4 as a mount
what is that clear tubing?
jose rangel it's for an air horn
+Boyette White thankyou so much.
jose rangel it's put a small compressor on it and an air horn
What size brackets did you use on the mount? what size piece would you recommend for a small trolling motor.
How exactly did you do this, what's needed

@@boyettewhite Thanks a million hope I don't kill my wife's gift
Some boats have a flat spot already for a motor by the back seats
Well, that’s pretty stupid.
