Can remove pedals, rudder, and fins and mount a small trolling motor to the rear and put an extension handle so then your able to glide quietly and steer seamlessly without exhausting yourself. A 12 volt battery should power a 45lb thrust trolling motor for 6-7 hours at mid speed. That's plenty of fishing for a day.
At camp as a kid I loved getting out on the paddle boat. I have two small ponds that I have access to but neither are boat lauch friendly. I think this is the answer. I would use the middle seat but from the video it doesnt really look like a seat as much as a spot. I saw one rigged with a live well in the cooler area.
Also, is it possible to pedal MUCH more slowly and make the paddles sloshing be a bit quieter? Thinking about using this in some very backwater areas to SNEAK up on flathead catfish! :)
you can but its still not very quiet ive used a hand paddle from my raft to get into certain areas more quietly or i just drift in. If i had someone with me and the weight was more evenly distributed i think it would be a little bit less noisy
Is that blue line you have is that an achor to hold the boat down. If so were could I get one from I getting a pedal boat soon so could you comment back and help me out
The times ive taken it out i didn't have any problems with water splashing but they were calm days if you take it out by yourself on a windier day and sit on either side you'll probably get splashed since it will tilt more to the side your sitting. A snake would probably be able to get into it if it wanted to but im not sure.
I have some questions about an older water wheeler paddle boat if anyone can help me out that would be great.. specifically about the square hole in the back bottom of the boat. Is that where the original troller motor came out or did the original troller motor hang off the back? Also if the boat doesn't have the rubber gasket around the sides of the boat can it take on water if it sits low enough in the water? My neighbor is trying to sell us their old paddle boat and it's in rough condition. I don't exactly trust what he says about it. It was given to him without the troller motor so idk that I trust his word about the square hole in the bottom being for any troller motor to go through. We are worried the boat will take on water if our nephew is in it paddling around and we can't have that.
I too am interested in what you think roughly estimated top speeds might be. Also, did you feel pretty stable standing up, even though it looked like you were in a fairly large body of water? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks man.
If your pedaling with the wind and your sitting in the middle you can go pretty fast. If you get the same size one that i have and your planning on taking it out by yourself its easier to steer if you sit in the middle lets say you sit on the right side of the boat the bolt will tilt a little so its harder to get the boat to turn left. I felt really comfortable standing up ive stood on it luring fishing quite a bit. They have small motors that you can buy for these boats that i might get at some point to try out.
Hi there . How does the water seem to get inside on the floor? I want to buy one but seeing all this water in your boat and others iv'e seen iam not sure. Is it leaking? Thank you ,Carrie
Carrie Bishop seeing the water after he said he LEFT IT OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN makes sense it's there... did you not watch?? I know I'm replying late but still
I can load it in and out of a truck i usually back down the boat ramp and prop the front onto the tailgate then from the back i lift and push/slide it in its a pain sometimes though its easier if you have a buddy it weighs 117 pounds.
@@AaronGoneWild A double pedal kayak would start at $2600. The Sund Dolphin boat is like two kayaks in that it is a catamaran so it could compete. A third small paddler might make it faster.
If you and a buddy are strong you could. Just don't drop it. It would be difficult. The cheapest 5/8 new lawn type trailer would probably be good, but they are about $800. I was able to put it in my NV 3500 van, but don't really want to. It will also be able to use it in my 12 foot cargo trailer.
Send me an e-mail address and I'll show you the exact same paddle boat rigged for fishing. I installed a 50# Minn Kota , rod holders, a Humminbird depth finder etc., etc. It actually leaves a wake at high speed

Do you have an anchor for this boat? What kind of anchor is it? thanks.
Does this wobble a lot when you stand up
Richie Xiong not very much
My wife once fell in the water in one, so yes. You could stand in the middle perhaps. It needs balance.
When on the water does it sit high enough for water not to splash in or a snake to crawl into ?

Carrie Bishop take a large sponge to soak up the water and you'll be fine.
Yea dude
Thank you, brother. Last question: since "fast" is a relative term lol, do you think you could hit 5mph? Subscription added, btw...
