    The way he feels about blazblue and arc systems is exactly how i feel about street fighter and marvel. I lean more toward anything arc sys. It all comes down to what you grew up with and what you know. I never liked street fighter nor cared about it till i got older. Even then I tried to play the other sf games and found myself just going back to guilty gear, blazblue, and p4a.

    @7:15 So Max doesn't play Tekken because of characters "diving into the screen at almost any given time" which makes it harder to control a match and is annoying…yet he plays MVC?! That makes no sense to me.

      Mega Man X im conflicted too, but i think the story needs a revamp like MK9 did. the whole family feud storyline is getting dry, and i hate what theyve done with king's. it seems they just keep adding characters that have nothing to do with the story (bob, miguel, christy).

    • @Berkaelzar

      +Justin Gordon Story ? Ive stopped caring about the stupid plot line since tekken 6 -.- What I'm really worried about is how the SFIV ``focus´´ enrage combo attack will affect the gameplay.

    Your point at the end is the best one, and it speaks not only for youtube content but for communities in general; if people wanna see their chosen fighting game do well then they gotta do whatever they can to support it. They can make videos, attend events, post on forums, discuss the game and its mechanics, hell even hold mini tournaments and stream it if you can. You can't wait for people to support your game for you, you have to help it yourself

    How Max feels about TTT2 (which I love to death along with Tekken 6) thats how I felt about Vanilla SF IV. I played it for less than a month then dropped it. Was not for me in the least bit. SSF IV I played a lot more. Mostly due in part to my guy Dudley being included.

    • @Yeshbit
      @Yeshbit 11 лет назад +1

      I love TTT2 as well but fuck me I hate the tag system. I would of loved the game so much more without it. It's really hard to put into words but despite how much I love it and the fact that I think it is THE best Tekken they've made in terms of balance and content, having the tag system there just stops me from being able to enjoy it as much as I want to enjoy it.

    • @ViewtifulShishigami
      @ViewtifulShishigami 10 лет назад

      I really enjoy playing TTT2(annd still playing it) but it's just so annoying how the Tag bounds are retarded. I unfortunately have to stick with playing it because of netcode. Tekken 6 is my favorite but the netcode is just braindead(the game disconnets 95% of the time I play it online) making it unbearable to play :(. I rather play play solo 1-on-1 than have a team. The only thing good about Tag 2 are the Tekken Tunes, New Customize modes and text chat in lobbies.

    • @solmndust88
      @solmndust88 10 лет назад +1

      What do you mean by retarded when it comes to the tag bounds? Retarded as in "they're hard to execute" or retarded as in "I don't know why they're in the game, as they serve no purpose"? I think they're OK. Granted it took me a minute to get used to, but I can work them in here and there. I do wholeheartedly agree about Tekken 6 netcode though. Nothings more frustrating than getting ready to dive into a fight only to have it disconnect. And the soundtrack is phenomenal. Still doesn't come close to Tekken 3 but great in its own right.

  • @TheGamersState

    The fact that you do not upload Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was 1 of the reasons I decided to start making videos for it
    The game is amazing, I love the extreme variety and individuality the characters offer and I love the general style.
    It would have been fun watching you play but it's down to you what you want to play and I fully respect that.

    I feel what you like is completely up to you. I am both an avid player of street fighter and tekken often switching out between the two, and I've also played almost every game in each series. I have friends that like one series or the another but not both and I'm fine with that, you can tell your friends to give them a try but don't force them or hate them for not enjoying because we all have our preferences. Some might like them later on, as I did with thrid srtike two years after online edition came out.

  • @Raurik

    I'd been into fighting games before Max did his Doom videos, but in an attempt to get into MVC3 since it was a friend's favorite game at the time, I stumbled across Max's Doom video. It was entertaining, but it was more informative than most combo videos are so I subscribed a few weeks later. My favorite videos from Max are the CvS2, MVC, and 3rd Strike videos. :D

    Suggestion (given your schedule and what you want to play): Try to take the game's that you no longer play and try to do a "Salty week of" every now and then. The old MVC2 salty weeks were really interesting and some of the non frequent fighting games could make some really fun "Salty Week" material. Regardless, it's your channel and your interests and always fun to watch!

    You really need to spend a lot of time with Tekken. Tekken's system is a lot like chess, with multiple moves from the same slot, or ( square)... If you don't understand that aspect you'll get destroyed. Luckily everyone's made the same, so if you master one character you can learn them all..but it take hours of Doppelganger practice to learn one character.

    • @SethAbercromby
      @SethAbercromby 10 лет назад +2

      ***** I felt T6 was a bit too much in terms of complexity for the move inputs and such. I tried my best to get into it, but that system just isn't something for me. Later I figured that I'm actually more drawn toward the Arc Systems style, due to the short array of moves but incredible depth. Mirror practice is also more approachable due to always knowing which move is being used how and then try to piece it back together. In Tekken, once I figured which particular kick mirror me used, I had already forgotten most of the rest of the combo.

    I absolutely agree with you Max. No one should blame you for lack of exposure for X or Y fighting game. The longevity of a FG and its community lies ultimately with the fans themselves. They need to support their title any way they can. i.e. Going to tourneys, telling people of the game, etc. Hell, I do what I can by uploading replays of the FGs I play after being inspired by you and just telling as many people about them as I can.

    The funny thing is that I love watching Max's channel even though I'm the opposite of him when it comes to fighting games. I just didn't enjoy playing MVC3. On the other hand, TTT2 has been most of my gaming time these past few months. I love that game more than 4 ,5, and 6 combined. And I had fun playing P4UMA as well (although I admit, I was only in it for the story because I played P3 and P4 back in the day). It's all preference really.

    It's unfortunate but I understand what you're talking about.
    Persona 4 Arena: I totally get what you mean. I played P3 and P4 first, but I actually had a stronger attachment to the P1 and P2 cast.
    Tekken Tag 2: I totally get you. The T6's system can be too difficult to grasp, especially if one doesn't try to play the game everyday.
    I figured as much that the reasons were what you said in the video, that's why I didn't complain. At least you tried, so thanks!

      You should play Persona 4, the original one for the PS2 IF you are interested in the story. You can get it on PSN, but other than that P4A is pretty good from the looks of it.

    I really tried to get into Guilty Gear, Persona, BlazBlue and Dead or Alive, but never could. I forever be a Street Fighter, VS series, Tekken and Soul Calinbur fan.

    great commentary. but i cant understand why people hate the tag-system from ttt2 so much. i think its great. its fun to play and fun to watch. its fun for beginners and pros. this marvel vs. capcom fights looks very chaotic to me.

    I respect him and I respect what he does. He's a great competitor. I am suggesting that he encompasses the whole FGC that would include the PS3 more because there are people on there that can be exhibited and are really good, but are overshadowed by all of the XBOX Live footage.

    max u and i both know that you can't make everyone happy but im glad you were capable of basically sitting us down and talking to us about things. But to make those that say you should make a bigger coverage other other fighters why not do something like feature someone else's channel that do cover those fighting games. possibly have people submit footage of them fighting and just clip them together in movie maker. Just suggestions since at the end of the day its your channel and i love 2 watch

    Max, I completely understand what you mean when you said that you try these newer games but you just keep coming back to the ones you already like. I loved the first TTT but I can't seem to stay with TTT2. I always find myself going to the local arcade just to play original TTT. A small group still loves the game as I do, some of them already in their 40s but are still decent with the game. Its all about preferences. Ignore the haters, keep doing what you do.

    Hey max, quick questions.
    Have you heard about how skullgirls funded their dlc characters thru indiegogo?
    You think other fighting games should attempt to emulate this for adding dlc?

    Due to lack of budget, and time to play I only play Tekken Tag 2 when I choose to play a fighter, so I don't need it to be "covered" keep doing what your doing because I like all fighters(except SFIV) and I like to watch good matches, and you provide good matches.

    Okay not liking a game or being into it is one thing. But too not like persona area a because u dont know enough about the lore? I never played or know a single person who has played any persona game but be Damn sure I played persona 4 arena cus I thought it was a solid fighting game. N he dint like tt2 because people pop out of no where? Half this video is umvc with that exact scenario happening. Im not saying he can't dis like the games but if your gonna give a reason n post a video on it please let it make sense just saying.

    I agree, although i do still play TTT2, i cannot deny that the best ones were t3, ttt, and t5 (in no particular order). Also im sure that you're aware of the DLC that will be released for Skullgirls. Perhaps you can give it another shot just to check the new stuff up? Also, will you be covering the new title Mane6 is working on after all the C&D fiasco?

  • @Redgohan147

    I agree, the only problem I have is that Max came into Tag2 with lots of enthusiam, thats the only thing that urks me; if he wasn't sure about the game, he probably should have been less earnest about playing it, imo.

    Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is by far the best Tekken thus far. It's not perfect but at least it hasn't got any of those stupid rage and bound systems.

    • @Berkaelzar
      @Berkaelzar 9 лет назад

      +Jim Fitton Hey ! You hate the enrage system of tekken 6 !? well guess what :D ? they've added a SFIV ``focus´´ insta combo crap when you get low enough on Tekken 7, thanks Namco

    • @Berkaelzar
      @Berkaelzar 9 лет назад

      Sure, new gameplay elements. Getting an opponent in rage mode means you have to be really careful (unless you can finish them off the ground or air) because a simple mistake by your part and its game over most of the time. On the other hand, those enraged know that they are still on a dangerous position since their demise can come in quick if they get overconfident of the increased damage. This brings alot of mindgames when enrage is up, which is nice i guess... but it still feels pretty cheap winning or losing thanks to this mechanic, and Im talking `based on my experiencewith Tekken 6's online (which still functions with practically zero latency, pretty impressive). I probably gave the wrong impresion to you. I don't think the new ``focus´´ attack is an omg umba cheap ass move... I just think its a fucking lazy adaptation from the focus attack introduced in SFIV, thats all. Oh and I did watch those finals :D, not life though -.-

    • @kellyadapon2886
      @kellyadapon2886 9 лет назад

      +Agusti Guerola Garcia Why cheap it makes it more interesting because it can change the state of the game if you get juggled with low hp and that where the excitement comes plus they added the slow mo feature when exchanging blows and plus when you use the rage art it guarantee big damage but not hit you can get counter hit with it from fast punches or if the rage art is high you can duck and as well as that one guy said in the Tekken Finals you need to be careful to use it and you can only use it when its on rage mode right so low health a risk for short and when you miss the rage mode is gone back to normal damage plus Tekken is like Street Figther too its not about the mechanics its about the mind games thats what figthing games have in common no matter how everybody said Sf wins Tekken or mortla kombat or some shit.

    • @Berkaelzar
      @Berkaelzar 9 лет назад

      Kelly Adapon Just gonna have to wait for the game to come out though. The slow-mo is a nice meaningless feature though, more spectacularity is always appreciated. I just hope that rage arts cant be air juggled though, or else were talking about loads of damage from just a simple launcher.

    I mostly watch your vids for your commentary so any game you play is fun for me. However I do understand why people would want to see specific games, especially the ones that don't get a lot of coverage.
    In any case, I still prefer that you play what is fun for you, because that way commentary is more enjoyable.
