I ordered a premium matte paper poster from Gelato and I was astounded at how quickly I got it, how well it was packaged(poster was inside tissue paper, inside a heavy-duty tube inside a triangle fed-ex box). The paper was a nice thick poster paper.
Thanks for the info
Yes. Thank you for sharing this as I am hoping to print my physical art pictures onto canvas to hang.
Thanks Kerry, this is super helpful. I'm transitioning my biz line to POD instead of what we've been doing for 10 years, I'm in the UK and been looking for reviews. This is great, and the comments in the thread seem to confirm what you're saying. I'm going to give them a go. Thank you :)
Omg, thank you a million times over for doing this video! This helped me a ton!
Please consider doing another video to deep dive into other details like the payments area as that sounded very confusing still.
So glad I found you. This was a great review. It's a big relief to find someone who can articulate a thought without seeing a squirrel and dashing off in another direction. Subscribed and off to check out your course, which I normally wouldn't do on account of all the squirrel chasers, but I want to start out on solid footing and I appreciate your simple and direct teaching style. Thanks!
😂😂😂 love this! Thanks for the kind words. Although sometimes I do feel like I’m squirrel chasing in these videos
thank you for clearing up my confusion about some of the processes! great video
You’re welcome
The depth of this video was extremely helpful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this review.....Excellent well done!!! Keep it up!
Thank you for watching!
That's a really nice shirt, dude. Thats high quality screen print. I just ordered 700 dollars worth of hoodies for my business from a company i wont mention and they looked terrible because it was heat trans. I wouldnt complain with that shirt and it was well priced too. I gotta research gelato some more cause im working with regret right now.
I am so pleased i saw this, I am a newbie and will definately be looking at your training.
Amazing! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for a great review Kerry. I've subscribed.
Thank you!
Thanks for your explanation !
Nice Video Kerry, great presentation and advice, keep it going and i see more followers coming!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you
You’re the best and most thorough reviewer I’ve seen! Keep up the good work and thanks for the hard work put into this video. It helped me a lot. Subscribing. ❤️
Thanks so much! Glad you're enjoying it!
Very helpful tutorial. Thank you!
Great review 👍 just subscribed to you just from watching this video 👍 honest straight up review
Thank you!
Nice review, thanks. I learned a lot about Gelato's service.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this ! I found it very very helpful ! !!!!
Awesome!
thank you! very informative and great review
You’re very welcome!
Great review. I am considering Gelato even more now.
Thank you!
Thanks, comprehensive review !
Thank you for watching
😂😂😂 had me in the first half lol thank you just what I was looking for 💪🏾🧜🏾♀️
Fantastic piece of info u made my road easy
Awesome!
Hi kerry. Can u plz elaborate on the wallet top up option. How it works etc. Many thanks. All of your videos are great btw!
I did since November of 2021. Thank you for sharing.
Really helpful. I've been looking at doing non-apparel products through Gelato for some time.
Thank you!
What have you tried? I've only used them for paper print products and so far so good
Thanks for the review!👌
You’re very welcome!
I suspect the "Top Up" section of the website is related to the monthly discounts.
For example, if you sell €5,000 worth of products in a month then you get a 5% discount on product prices the next month. You can, however, prepay that €5,000 to automatically qualify for that discount regardless of your monthly sales.
This is interesting, thank you for bringing this up
Great video! I’m just getting started with my POD online store and am having trouble decided between Gelato, Printify and Printful. Wondering if other sellers use all three or stick to one. Also, does it make sense to simply get a trial account with all three and order samples before deciding on who to use?
you got me with the ice cream .. i really thought i'm in the wrong video for a sec lol
So far with gelato I'm very happy with their products. They're frame prints. I don't think were good enough, but I'm still. I'm trying a few more and we'll see but the rest of it's great. And it's UK based with UK money so it's good for a seller like me
Thank you for making this video
Absolutely!
Awesome review!! Really appreciate your hard work on this! I'm new to selling POD and I'm confused about the payment process. It seems like Gelato would pay us the total price and then we pay them back for product printing shipping etc...is that correct? Do they pay us first or do we pay them first and what's the timing between us paying them and them paying us? Thanks for your help and again thanks for the great video!
Thanks, Kerry! I really like your reviews. :-)
Thank you for watching!
I think they are using local companies to fulfil their demands, that's why they are able to ship orders so quick to almost any place. I'm waiting for my calendar, we'll see. They don't have to be the cheapest, if quality is good. Quality must match the price.
Going to give this company, a test drive based on your review, and I’ve heard you mentioned them before. Going to use your affiliate code as well. Thanks Kerry. Super dope review as with everything else you do.
How have you
Gotten on?
love this company. Price increase on April 22 but still great and not much more
Thanks for the info.
You’re very welcome
Good video! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Gelato is the best custom tees service that I always use. Shipping only cost $19 while other services over charge you like $30-$40!
Love that!
Thanks for your video, have a question you should do a video showing it after washing it to see if the color faded
I agree! Have been starting to do this in more videos!
haha, you got me at the start there ! :)
😉😉😉
This is a bit of a necro post, but do you pay first or do they have an option to hold till customers payment comes to you like printful?
The Bella Canvas t shirt is a few dollars more expensive that other suppliers (printify for ex), would you save on shipping?
Very thorough video. My son who has a high IQ on e-commerce told me about Gelato. That’s when I said let me check out some reviews and yours was on point. I literally was going to ask you about the smell of the shirts and then you said the vinegar smell 😅 was real strong. So I guess that must be something we can’t get away from. I appreciate you making this review.
Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful!
Reallly glad I found your channel. Just watched like ten of your videos, had to switch away from Printful and I decided to go with SPOD. Thanks for your help!
That’s so awesome
Midniqht, would you not recommend Printful? I am trying to decide which one to use... Thank you for your help!
@@alinaholtmann printful is overpriced and print quality is inconsistent, that is why i switched
How are you liking SPOD? Any issues with using them?
@@westcoastgrizzly It's great, all my orders in NA get shipped in 2-3 days, & print quality is pretty good
Can i use multiple pod services for my etsy shop
Love this print on demand company I’m from Europe and it’s super fast and quality is amazing just waiting to build up my designs and start
That’s so good to hear
That's awesome to hear! Where in Europe are your customers located and how fast are the delivery times (production + shipping)? I'm located in Sweden and I'm also trying to start a POD business.
The “top up” made me mad about using them . But long as you have a minimum $50 on your card you don’t have to top up .. but the money needs to be added to the ‘wallet’ or have the money on your regular card
With Gelato, do i need to creato a store on Shopify or can i create a shop with Gelato without using Shopify or Wordpress integration?
Hello new subscriber, how do I take out the back ground from my design. I mean the space which is behind the design.
Thanks for the video. A couple a questions. Maybe I missed it; are the graphics screenprinted or heatpressed? Also, do you get the chance to choose the colors for your graphics or does Gelato guess the colors based on the artwork you upload?
This is direct to garment printing. An actual print machine matches the colors based on your artwork
It’s DTG after going through everything said on their website!
Great video. Very informative. One thing I would recommend is that your lower the background music. It’s kind of distracting from the information your putting out. Overall awesome job.
Thank you for this informative video!!
Currently trying to figure out the best drop shipping vendor for Framework/ Canvas Art, do you know if their printing is great quality? I have yet to find a solid review on their canvas art or framework art & how well it's printed out.
Did you get to test trial Gelato for your Canvas art?
thanks for your amazing content. Can i asked you if you recommend to have 2 print on demand software on the same website at the same time. Like Gelato and printful? thanks
Someone told me yea but when I try to add it it won’t maybe it will work with you.
I’m in agreement not a fan of courier handoffs, one time my product took almost a month to arrive. Great review though I might give Gelato a try… looks interesting
Yea the handoffs stink
You should mention that company. What if some of us is thinking about working with them and does a mistake?
How much sells does one need?
Looks like the personalization tool has been removed?
They stopped the personalisation option 🙁
Ok I got a bit more info so let me change my question...apparently we have to connect to an ecommerce site like Etsy etc to make sales... so how long do we have to pay Gelato after we make the sale on Etsy etc? Do we have to pay Gelato before they start processing the order? Sorry for the dumb question! I'm a complete novice lol... Thanks so much!! :)
Woo...Tulsa! I'm originally from Oklahoma City!
Love this print on demand company I’m from the UK and it’s super fast delivery. Items were delivered by Royal mail and have 24 or 48 hours delivery
That’s great to hear!
Hey viviene, could you elaborate on your experience? Im in the Uk also and use Printful at the moment. Costs are a little high ans shipping a little long due to most being fulfilled in the USA. How much are you costings working out? Do you sell Tees? Mugs etc. Just want an idea of basic cost plus shipping before I join another company. TY
Great video! new subscriber
Thank you!
Can you place manual orders on Gelato? With the nature of things right now you can no longer solely rely on one POD provider. Everything is out of stock and I’m constantly needing to re-route. Thanks!
Yes you can
Your video is great but do I have to buy a course to find out which Pod company prints the best quality? I am probably going with Gelato linked to Etsy. Thanks.
It’s all subjective on quality
Do their print crack or fade when u wash them?
Hey! I was curious if it is possible to get a custom tag on the inside of the t-shirt for when the customer gets them, as in having a custom label instead of the original t shirt brand?
I don’t believe you can do this with Gelato
Printful offers that option.
they do now but only for like tshirts but for hoodies you would have to message them
nice review bro
Thank you!
Helo Kerry. Very good and informative video. Thank you! BTW I cannot find the option to personalize the product as you showed it on 15:13
I’m sorry to hear that! It’s showing for me
You only get that option with the paid subscription ( £8.49 per month)
@@tward2674 I was not using the paid version, unless something changed
@@tward2674 Whoa, what? Good to know.
I stumbled upon VAT... Not worrying about it now
how can ı delete my credit card info? And do ı pay while ı am selling?
Hi Kerry. I'm not understanding the shipping method
Do I do a shipping profile? (I'm using Etsy )or is this automatic calculated .By saying that so I can't show a price for shipping on my listing.
I haven't used Gelato as just but would like to.
Thank you Alexius
You will decide how much you want to charge for shipping in Etsy
Has anyone had experience with Gelato's HD metal prints?
New subscriber from Australia 👋👋👋 newbie question …. Can you have multiple POD companies on your website? Say if one offers a product that your main company does not offer.
Yes! Totally
@@KerryEgeler thank you for the reply…. Would you recommend as a newbie just having 1 POD company and as the business grows you can start looking to add more variety of items from other POD companies?
I am starting an etsy store and everytime I go to add a item that Gelato would print for me an Etsy message pops up saying that shipping costs are too high on that item. Gelato has set shipping costs for each item. So how do I get around using Gelato's shipping cost and instead set my own. Or can I even do this? PS Kerry your review video on Gelato is great. I love the quailty and fair prices of their products, but as said concerned about shipping cost to my USA customers.
Etsy veteran here - ignore that pop-up, they're getting that number from average sales across your country, category, ratio of your price etc. Most of the time it's not accurate and is just designed to worry you into charging less. Research the shipping rates other similar shops are charging and match them. You can also hide some/all of it in your price if you want to look like a better option.
Okay I use Printful but idk they only have poster prints. I heard gelato has great T-shirts which is great, so they do Art Prints?
yes
Hi, do you know if Gelato offers white label packaging? Can the customer receive the product with my logo on it?
Yes!
One other question, is it possible for us to advertise our own mockups or are we required to use theirs?
You can use whatever mock-ups you want
Do you convert you designs to CMYK colour space for print?
Most, if not all of the POD companies prefer RGB files and I believe they convert the colors to CMYK in the printer machine. But I do sometimes convert to CMYK on my computer screen to try to see a more accurate representation of how the colors will come out.
@@KerryEgeler OK thx for reply I guess its better to convert myself before print then I will have a better idea of print colors on Tshirts.
I really love your videos Kerry, I'm Andres from Chile and in the next few weeks I want to open my own shop on shopify in the print-on-demand t-shirt business, in addition to Gelato, do you know another supplier that is here in Chile? I really would like to find it and make this comparison to deliver the best quality and prices to my future clients.
Thank you
Check printify?
Viva Chile! Soy de Suecia y tambien voy a empezar con Print on demand acá en Suecia pero he pensado en vender a Chile como un próximo paso. Que tipo de cosas estás planeando a vender? // Jean Paul
Hello Kerry, I was wondering what type of image did you upload was it a vector PDF or a JPEG with a black background that it automatically minuses out in the printing process?
Thank,
Dave
Transparent PNG
what if someone send products back?
Do I need a credit card or can I also use paypal? I don't have a credit card and as a student it's not easy to get one when you don't have a job with regular income.
Credit or debit card
Thanks there do much competition
If someone orders on Etsy do you forward it to Gelato or does it go straight to them? Also, I think I'm signing up to your Jumpstart but, after going through it all, am I able to directly ask further questions if I need to?
It would go straight to them if you have it integrated. You can shoot us an email at support@shirtschool.com
How do you compare Gelato to Redbubble? I'm not happy with Redbubble's delivery time.
Two completely different business models
Any laughs on the Gelato joke? Anyone? No? Okay, sorry. 😂
I laughed!
I laughed. Found it amusing.
I was taken aback and ready to skip the video....lol
For me gelato is a type of art material
Going to borrow it. 😂
How is the print after washes and use?
It’s fine, like any other DTG printed tee
Well, their partner in Germany it's not ok... My customer sent me images with my design destroyed with the first wash...
The print quality looks better than printful or printify.
Yes it was pretty nice
Doesn't seem like any DTG can print black, is this right?
Black ink? Yes they can
@@KerryEgeler from the research I've done, they can only get a dark gray on a black shirt, not black. Does this company screenprint?
Can we use our own brand tag ?? If yes how ?
did you found the solution?
kerry can you please do Huge pod
I’ll check into it
doesn't mean it will have the same quality of the prints on another country.
0:25 I swear I was going to stop the video🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
@@KerryEgeler Can you answer me a small question, has Teepring lost its relevance in the market
@@kinformations6964 teespring has transitioned to an e-commerce platform for RUclipsrs and creators.
@@KerryEgeler Thanks for your quick reply, would you advise me to continue working on Teespring
how much do we earn commission per sale?
As much as you want, you get to set the price
I think that they need to pay royalties for movie posters so actually, margins are lower
Right, it is not in public domain
The reason you received another brand is because they didnt have Bella-Canva in stock so they upgrade it for you
Love the video, but drop the background music! Distracting!
