There is not a single case in the history of humanity, where the replacement of street parking with bike lanes negatively affected the businneses on the street.
Revenue ALWAYS increases, because parking can never match foot and bike traffic on a level playing field
so true
Businesses need to learn they dont own the street. You feel you NEED parking, buy a parking garage, pitch in with the neighbor businesses to afford it. Cant? tough luck.
making a place bicycle and pedestrian friendly improves business , it is proven over and over , it is science !
True for a normal city but not in a city where people are afraid to walk the three blocks. Is this perception accurate for Oakland? In Europe and Asia people walk and use public transportation and you hardly ever see a boarded up shop. This is an ideal we should strive for.
Valencia Corridor merchants in the city would disagree.
Where? Valencia st in SF? Not so.
This is not Copenhagen or Amsterdam. We are a Car Culture. That is what we are.
Go about in the Bay Area. Go anywhere and you will see Bike Lanes without Bikes. Sidewalks and Foot Paths with few walkers. You will see crowded car lanes which used to have more lanes. You will see cars looking for parking and going elsewhere.
I'm not saying it is science. I say this is reality. Go anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area and look. Don't feel you need to believe me. Go and see for yourself. Ask anyone you want to go with you.
I challenge anyone to tell us where there is an over crowded Bike Lane. I dare you.
You will find overcrowded car lanes and parking lots.
Go and look!
Ban cars and arrest anybody in one.
Heck arrest people who like cars
More anti bike propaganda 😂
GLASS
Jerrrrrryyyyy!!!!!!!!!
Oakland has become a no go zone
Good riddance to ya then
O grow some balls
there will be a negative impact on those businesses like it's happening in Valencia street, SF not enough parking, less customers 🤷♀️🤷 listen to Him 1:58
adjust or perish
Just look at Berkeley - lots and lots of empty bike lanes with no bikes in them, taking up parking spots and making it impossible to drive in general. So yeah, keep voting blue for more stupid policies.
My street is simliar, it went from 4 lanes to 2 lanes and 2 bike lanes. It went from fast flowing to congestion and 2 empty bike lanes
Cry about it
@@AlCatSplat Or be stupid about it
We pay so much tax to build bike lanes and the majority of time they are empty. We should start charging for registration fees for bikers like vehicle drivers. These bike lane proposers are meat heads. Motor vehicles are getting less and less space to drive. And roads are getting more and more congested due to these bike lanes.
Cars dont belong in cities.
@@kil2250 Bikes don't belong in cities
Assuming you're in the US, cars already have the majority of the space on the street. Also, driving is so incredibly subsidized it's ridiculous. Fuel taxes and registration barely put a dent in the maintenance costs for streets/roads. Also bike lanes attract more people to bike (if properly designed) which means less people driving
@@randallanno2327Why not?
We don’t need another Fking Bike Lane in Oakland. This is ridiculous. Anyone who is involved in this nonsense needs to be fired. I’m sick and tired of these people running this city in the ground.
LEss cars parked---less smash and grabs. simple math dude.
Im excited about new bike lanes, we cant get enough of them. Sorry we cancelled each other out.
@@kil2250 America's gotta get fat people walking and biking more. and good for climate change. no one in european countries complain about this---they love traveling on bikes.
We don't need another fking parking lane in Oakland.
@@JT-nr2ss I don’t care what you talking about. This is a City, you want to ride bikes go to where you can ride bikes. Yall mfs move here to inconvenience everybody. Always in someone way, going absolutely nowhere. That’s all yall know how to do.
