- This ebike ban goes against all of the "freedom" that Americans always brag so much about. This needs to be talked about, so we did a bunch of research and THIS is why it's important.

Ban cars
Especially if they're just going to blanket-ban ebikes... liiiiiiikeee... yeah, equally ban cars.
Ban the D.N.V. right!
More bikes less cars.
imagine them banning cars if there was one fatal accident. Sure maybe they need more aggressive rules and enforcement about ebike use, perhaps to not allow minors. But a blanket ban seems ridiculuous. A 12 year old in a car would also be dangerous.
RIGHT? Blanket bans are, in fact, ridiculous. In this case, enforcement of the proper Class'ed ebikes would be more beneficial.
This is it. There should be restrictions on devices that exceed a certain top speed.
But this should be an opportunity to talk about the massive hazard cars impose on everyone. Including the residence of this township.
This this this this this
Probably not as dangerous as many 88 year olds in a car.
"imagine them banning cars if there was one fatal accident" ... This completely ignores the difference in distances travelled. Ben's 358 reported vehicle fatalities equates to 1.48 deaths per HUNDRED MILLION Vehicle Miles travelled (Miami Dade TPO 2022)...plus how would you get your bicycle if the biggest "killers" on the roads (Semi-Trucks) didn't deliver them from coastal ports to your LBS.
2:27 - 900+ bicycle crashes, but 1 ebike is involved in 1 accident where the e-part of the bike isn't really a factor, and they ban it all. Wow, fucking wow.
She got no hamlet .
Lifted trucks are 1000000% more dangerous than e-bikes and they are not ban.
We need to ban them as well.
ding ding ding ding! Exaaaaaactly. Ugh. This ban is so infuriating
lifted trucks are not mowing over grannies.
They should be banned within city limits and treated with the same restrictions as farm vehicles.
But they’re insured and drivers have to adhere to road laws.
They ban something over 1 death? What about drugs, alcohol, guns, vehicle accidents, etc. The US is one crazy country with their often upside-down priorities.
Yeeeeep pretty crazy! And I didn't even touch on all of those things! Just cars as a comparison 🙃
US citizens are very susceptible to marketing. After the end of WWII, the auto and oil companies started a concerted campaign to make the car the only acceptable mode of transportation. It worked.
The funny part is the number of Americans who claim it’s “freedom” to spend hundreds of dollars/month and waste thousands of hours sitting in traffic on potholed roads cities can’t afford to fix, all at the behest of auto and oil companies.
Ban politicians.
USA: banning Kinder Surprise Eggs and E-bikes, but buy guns at Walmart 🤦🏻♀️
😆
Guns keep you from being exterminated by a tyrannical government.
This is exactly how you Tell the world you're stupid without actually getting up and saying hey everybody I'm an idiot
And how many law abiding citizens in all other countries around the world wish they could?
@@miker7808 I don’t think there’s a global ban on Kinder Eggs and e-bikes, so luckily for us, we can still get them.
Ebikes are not the problem. I place blame on lack of infrastructure, lack of education about safety, and these dictators. They want us unhealthy and paying the high cost of owning an automobile. It benefits the corporations more $$. Stand up and fight for your rights people, before you have none.

I'm SURE that clown mayor must be a Republican.
But if you ban ebikes then only criminals will have ebikes, we need good guys with ebikes to protect us from bad guys with ebikes
🙃
Perfect.
I love this comment. So true!
lmao this is actually true! Only criminals who don't give a damn about the ban will ride ebikes xD
I see what you did there... LOL
So the NEXT TIME even ONE distracted car driver runs somebody over, we need to ban all cars. I PROMISE YOU there's more of them than there are "irresponsible ebikers".
It is okay to drive a car or motorcycle on any hyway or street, that will travel at 150 mph, but don't you dare ride an E bike that will travel over 28mph. WTF????
It's an island of Karen's and kenny's
So sad and kind of sick - firearms or cars are 100 times more lethal. Why don't they ban these?
mmmmmhhhhhhhhmmmmmm 👍
Why support ban culture?
💯% agree on all your points. Such blind hypocrisy from these people who have foresight no further than the hood of their cars.🤦
Love the way you put that
Do Floridan's just have a sign siting around in their house that says "BAN THEM" that they bring to council meetings?
Hahaha I was wondering about this! Like those were printed QUICKLY or they've been using them for other picketing

I live in Naples and yeah, most people here hate the rest of the country so much it’s unbearable. Snooty and stuck up, ready to ban anything and everything. We don’t even have billboards on the highway because the rich people don’t like them. We used to have ticketing traffic cameras but they petitioned to remove them as well because so many people just pay off the city
You are so right dude. You should see the amount of gated communities here in Florida. They are out of control, everyone lives in isolation. Communities that can be connected together by their roads are isolated from each other or they will build a gated community with a private road that is not accessible by the public , requiring drivers to circle miles around the community to get to the other side. It’s ridiculous! We have entire communities with nothing but houses, no convenience stores, no gas stations, you have to drive 2.6 miles to the community gate and then drive out 4 or 7 miles just to find a McDonald’s or get a quick snack.
I do food delivery on an e-bike and you are right about Florida neighborhoods the security guards are so annoying I just drive right by him on my e-bike and they always freak out
Wowsers, that's pretty crazy. Ugh. Humans.
Hahaha that's pretty funny.
"The people you're failing to secure need foooooood" *zipping by on your ebike*
Yeah! Gated to protect them from criminals and invasive illegals, something not everyone can afford except the politicians who allow it.
With this logic all cars should be banned.
That's what I go on to say in this video!
Meanwhile in New York theyre setting up places to charge your ebike while parked or even better scan a locker, get a fresh battery, insert the dead 1 and be on your way. They encouraging using ebikes

Great video Ben! It's so refreshing to get informed opinions on the ban & its implications
Glad you think so! ✌
By that standard, no vehicles, no walking , no guns, no hard candies, no pets

That mayor needs to be fired.
I wonder what effect this will have on powered wheelchair and mobility scooter users, it seems like they accidentally banned those as well.
"whoopsies! You'd better move to another town, you silly disabled person! Just get up and start walking!" /s
kids are not going around riding grannie chairs, that do not go faster than 5 MPH.
The class 2 bikes the kids in that town ride go at most 20mph. I know plenty of people who can ride a regular bike faster than that.
@@BrianRouse kids should not have electric bikes in general so could care what class the bike is.
@@viperdemonz-jenkins yeah, I agree there should be a minimum age on ebikes. But if the town outright bans them, then that would affect adults too. And I know many adults that can power a regular bike beyond 20mph, so should they ban those bikes too? I think an all-out ban is too much. Age restrictions are the best thing.
Why ban them when these type of things happen when new things are put into play. Maybe depending on how fast the bike can go don't allow young kids to ride it. We all ready have an obesity problem so having people able to ride bikes instead of cars can help with that. Just ban it all together without really trying other things first is not ok.
I remember back in my time we all had bikes, roller skatings etc...
Kids deserve to be able too go and hang out with there friends.
Its already bad enought in America with walking people almost always hit you with their cars because they don't care.
a 12 yr old kids does not need an electric bike that does 20 mph......learn how to pedal ....wtf
@christopher480 you're an idiot that seems to know nothing about ebikes!!! You sound like some grumpy old dusty person that goes full karen about everything!! Ebikes have pedals and people do pedal them to save battery!! They also have levels of pedaling if you want heavy exercise you can easily do that. You sound ridiculous, I can pedal my fixie bike faster than 20mph
Thank you for raising the issue of e-motorcycles. These need to be addressed with new legislation, and distinguished from the existing classes 1, 2 and 3 that do not travel at 30mph+ speeds.
You did what I did and looked at the intersection on Google Maps, and it's a dangerous layout.
Did you notice the lack of street lighting? The accident happened at 7pm in the dark, the only lighting would come from the bikes themselves and a couple of houses set a long way back from the street. eBike usually have lights powered from the battery, but we don't know if the lady had a light on her acoustic bicycle.
The people in the meeting all looked like they haven't ridden a bike or eBike, or birthed a child, in decades, so a ban does not inconvenience them directly at all. If all the schoolkids that were riding eBikes now need a lift from a parent to get to school, the extra traffic is going to be worse congestion than the eBikes.
I have a Class 2 eBike that I got for exercise (I am losing weight riding 5-10 miles a day), but I also now use for some shopping trips. If I couldn't cycle for those trips, that''s another car back on the road. I rarely use the throttle, it's mostly useful for asssistance on hills or getting started at a stop light.
Oh DANG that's actually an amazing point that I totally didn't think of! Street lighting! Arg! That might've actually been a huge cause.
EXCELLENT video Ben!
I took inspiration from your investigative videos 😜
Ban all the machines! Think how many Lifes will be saved! [Sarcasm]
I appreciate your report. Thank you!!!
Np! 🫡
Making a very excellent point and let's also agree that the lady was not wearing a helmet let's think about this in the 70s their used to be bicycle rodeos to teach kids how to ride
eBikes are not just for kids. They are also for 56 y.o. women with two bad knees and one iffy ticker who need a second "vehicle" to get to work, to the market, to the drugstore. Now, I'm scared to invest the thousands into an ebike if some thoughtless legislator is going to take it away. I'm too old to be running down buses whose drivers ignore older ladies waving them down from the sidewalk for a ride to the office and leave them gasping for air in their wake. In my city, it's drive a car or lose your job, IF they remove the ebike option.
I was driving about 60 km/hr down Southdale Road in London a couple of month ago when an e-schooter actually passed me. It was after dark to boot. Ridiculous.
Yeah that's 100% unsafe and illegal. I'm talking about electric-assist bicycles.
I'm partially disabled and I ride my ebike 9 months a year, as my main transportation. I live in a Northern Arizona small city, where there are a handful of ebikes, in the whole town. If you live in big cities you have no freedom anymore. I haven't seen a big city in 20 years.
I have the right to go as fast as the fastest land animal. I identify as a cheetah 🐆
Freedom is dangerous and not Free, there is a price, and I would rather have dangerous freedom's, over cowardly legislation!!!
Exactly bro! It's like every time passing the streets its legal but still you need to take care for your personal safety 👍
The mayor is personally involved because the woman was her friend. They should ban the gas scooters or the adults that drive golf carts like idiots in that area. The simple fact is, if the woman was wearing a helmet, she would be alive.
No more freedom
They just got lucky because no one fights back with the right words to say about this e-bikes
If the video of the children riding e-bikes is from said town, it looked like every kid in town had one of those fat tire e-bikes that could hardly make the corner. Ban ALL vehicles including regular bikes as well. Otherwise the ban makes no sense.
Yep those clips are from the newscasts of the same town
@Ben Durham
CYC motor Mountain Bikes can reach speeds of 50mph in 5 seconds. Would you consider it a motorcycle?
1. Here's the fact...Once a motor is combined with a two wheel cycle ( no matter how large or small) it's a motorcycle/motor bike.
2. Any e-bike that can reach a speed above 10mph is potentially deadly to the pedestrian.
3. E-bikes/e-scooters with motors that produce 3kw should require the operator to be a minimum of 18 years.
Movement in itself presents risk. Therefore, risk cannot be eliminated if there's a desire to be mobile. The best we can do is use protective equipment, and create logical laws that work for all. Cheers!
Much of what you've covered in this video is spot on. However, there is one point many people choose to either ignore or are clueless about. The point regarding regular conventional bicycles as a free form of transportation. Lately, everything is about e-bicycles as if conventional bicycles do not exist. People of any age can get on a regular non-electric bicycle and ditch the car. Sure, e-bicycles are easier to pedal and can be more efficient on long-distance rides with less fatigue. Simply claiming that people are now free due to the e-bicycle is not true. The freedom has always been there before the marketing of the e-bicycle and e-scooter. Over 20+ years of cycling, I've experienced the same exact problems e-bike riders face. It does not matter whether the bicycle/scooter has a motor on it or not. I agree that banning e-bicycles and e-scooters is not a proper action. I do think that age restrictions based on e-bicycle class should be enacted. When it comes to e-cycles (Suron, Billy Goat, Wired, Freedom, and many other high performance e-bikes), riders should be required to register and obtain an endorsement if riding them on the roadways. Public trail access should be prohibited. All bicycles and scooters (electric and conventional) are a free form of transportation and should not be messed with.
You make a bunch of really good points, tbh.
I agree that regular bicycles are a great mode of transportation that haven't been banned. This is an entirely different video but the coolest thing about e-bikes ISN'T actually the electrification but the fact that FINALLY the culture has shifted.
In North America, if you rode a bicycle, you were either REALLY rich or REALLY poor. So you either had a $10,000 USD bike or a $4 stolen janky bike. And nearly ALL of their frames were insanely aggressive and only really for recreation.
But with the advent of ebikes, the form factors have mattered less and now resemble Dutch-style upright ebikes more often than not. Aaaand then there are the e-motorcycle-styled ones which have also taken off (dang it).
So it's a whole other bit but I may seriously use your comment as a base in another video in the coming months. Very good points!
"...are a free form of transportation and should not be messed with." Dude, you just got finished proposing messing with them. Sheesh.
@SteffiReitsch E-BICYCLES and E-SCOOTERS regulated by their classification (Class 1, 2, and 3) shouldn't be messed with. E-CYCLES (motorsports bikes: Suron and other high-performance recreational bike) should require license and/or registration to operate.
Great video. It's just the same old thing. The uneducated being the louder voice. I love ebikes and people making decisions on these bikes that have no clue irks me. Time to press for better infrastructure.
Thanks! And yep, we have to speak up about these types of bans. And we can learn a thing or two from these instances over yonder.
Mindless people as they grieve, this is the same mindset of the blame game.
Lawsuit incoming how much money are they going to pay for everybody that has e-bikes.
Same mindset of anti-gunners.
Blame game of unreasonable, thinkering people.
This is what happens when low IQ people are allowed to appreciate in politics
One of the things not being discussed is the weight/mass of the ebikes/escooters. İn Europe where we are limited to 250W motors to be practicable for climbing hills etc the bikes generally weigh in the region of 50lbs or so. İn US because of their bigger motors it is not unusual for ebikes to be double this weight and escooters to be even more with the addition of a passenger. The amount of damage caused by a crash is based on the mass of the vehicle, weight X speed.
İf children were restricted to class1 ebikes with a maximum weight limit imposed this could potentially reduce the damage/injury incurred in the case of a crash whilst still giving them freedom of mobility.
250W is anemic, that stinks. My U.S. city has big hills, I need my 750W. 250W? Fuggeddaboutit!

Sure, because there are no cities in Europe with steep, long hills. 🤦♂️🤷🏻♂️

Kids ride motorcycles in USA. You don't understand the history of the American South Dixie society... It is Sadistic.
Car drivers want to ban e-bikes because it challenges their world view and their ego. Facts mean nothing to them. BTW I live in London Ontario too.
I have an e-cargo bike, and love it for commuting. I also have several pedal-only bikes. What I see on my local trails, and I HATE to say it-the e-bikers riding like total "donkeys" usually are not pedaling, and using the throttle exclusively. Eliminating throttles may be the answer.
10:34 - and at some point parents just stop doing that shit and say yeah go deal with the buses and 8 lane highways everywhere i aint driving you and thats coming of age in the car culture
It's only about government control over transportation
I would say that banning e-bikes for 12 year olds would make a lot of sense. It would be better for the General Public and the children themselves to ride regular bikes only until they are say about 16 years old.
People are so short sited and driven by emotions rather than logic and data
Banning e-bikes means more cars out on the roads! Is that what we want? What do you prefer to collide with? A 40 kg e-bike going 40 km/h or a 1500 kg car going 60 km/h?

They'll ban dancing next.
You kicked a person out of hearing that told the truth? Shame. This is a knee jerk reaction to something that could have happened anywhere. And maybe it has but you know Florida, they have to lead the way with the most asinine shit ever. The other day I was driving and had a guy on a bike on the side of the road with lots of snow, two cars passed him and I am not sure what happened but when the 2nd car passed he was on side of the road. I waited behind him while he picked his bike up and then went in front of me across 4 lanes of traffic. Yes, he was in the right light as I was, was potentially knocked over ( I did not actually see it), picked himself up from the side of the road and went left across all 4 lanes of traffic. That is bad biking and not all bikers need to be removed from the road, maybe this guy. Then I had another guy riding towards me in the right lane and I moved over and honked. He then pointed out that the sidewalk was covered in snow. Again, another guy that needs to be removed from the road because blame snow and not your decision on riding towards traffic. Again, dumb decisions on what to ban and why.
I agree with the majority of your comment. Yep, #americanfreedumb
This ban really stinks, but Florida is so flat all you need is a manual bike anyway. What they need are more bike paths.

@@lecroixband 2000 watts is no longer an e-bike, it's a small motorcycle.
I agree that there should be age limits on ebikes. A young kid doesn't need to be riding 30mph on a bike. Plus ebikes should be banned from sidewalks. I have 3 ebikes and love them but I never ride on the sidewalk. That can be dangerous.
It has to do with getting healthy. It's cutting into the medical industries profits. It's proven that ebikes help people get in better health and they outsold any other forms of transportation and also better for the environment. So it's cutting into fuel profits too
Ben....you made some good points. Who wants to ride ebikes in the rain ? Who wants to side ebikes in the winter ? I guess Florida has a good argument for winter. I think most people feel safe in cars and maybe the people who own ebikes WHO HAVE A BRAIN do not feel safe riding with cars on the road. I don't see any problem with ebikes in very low traffic areas with wide streets to accommodate both. Is this ban on ebikes just in town ?
Ebikes and scooters in this town specifically. The reason I covered it is this is a dangerous thing to allow and I'm worried that it'll spread to other places in the world 😬🌎🌍🌏💥🚲
@@BenDurhamWhy not create some jobs, and build bike lanes, do something constructive for once. Fossil fuels must die or the planet die's😮.
I've been thinking about how we should apply restrictions to e-bikes for a couple years now, it's easy to see there needs to be something. My general feeling is that the restrictions of power and maximum speed are already set at values that work. 20mph and 500w@32volts is exactly what should be available for youths and unlicensed riders. Kids younger than 13 should not be permitted to ride an e-bike on public surfaces. When a person turns 18, and has a valid drivers license, they may ride an e-bike that exceeds the kid-safe limit for power and speed. An 'unlicensed adult' must continue to ride a limited e-bike. At all times a rider must obey speed restrictions for the roadway they are riding on. In addition, when riding an overpowered e-bike, the rider must carry their license, and submit to law enforcement on request. This mode of personal transport is too valuable to extinguish because idiots are idiots or politicians are too easily pressured by 'knee-jerk reaction'-ists.
In Singapore , many serious accidents and deaths happened when Escooters first came to our shores unregulated , it got so bad that Escooters are just outlawed on public roads and paths.
right now ebikes are only allowed on roads , no go for pavements
This is just a microcosm of a way greater issue here.
The helicopter parents who banned seesaws, pellet rifles, and lawn darts ,are now banning motorized bicycles... I can't say that I'm surprised in the collectivist gynocentric west.
In an ideal world people would be judged as individuals but no, everyone is guilty until proven innocent, you are not a citizen of the country you're in but a suspect to be constantly monitored by daddy state as if you're in a prison. The longest running joke that is the democratic process has traded all the power of the people for the mere illusion of safety and by god they are going to pay for it in the long run if you look at the modern people and ideas produced and promoted by America and other western countries.
I think another aspect of this case would be because it was a minor who caused the accident and they can’t be held accountable in the same way as an adult would be.
Why was a 12 year old on an e-bike? That’s the problem, not the bike itself.
Apparently legal in Florida.
If all that footage was ebikes in the Key Bicayne area, seems like they need a better bike/ebike infrastructure.

In fact, e bike does not need to. People often mislead the fact, that most of e bike has a drive mode and the "SPORTS" mode is quite enough to ride in the normal way. In my opinion, the idea of regulation is really stupid enough, because the logic is all crap; according to their logic, all vehicle need to be "regulate, and limit" the performance by the place, but regulation fanatics said only EV. But, if somebody really uncomfortable as much as mentally ill, E bike can driven cycle lane, side walk with the class I or II mode, and use sports(or often said off road mode) in normal way, that they are riding with other vehicle.
There is no need to licensing; in addition some states does not require a license to drive Moped, so e bike too. But I think, possibly some cyclist will complain.
So, real problem is an ego. Especially I'm really disgusting that so called cyclist or Europeans tell pay the tax. We do not have that kind of non sense, and if their states or country is doing so if they felt it is not equal and uncomfortable with the situation, I think they need to leave that place and move to the other place that does not have senseless licensing or tax system.
And the real solution is change the regulation to EV friendly. If the sports mode is not the illegal, and dump the nonsense regulation from the system, we can solve the problem without the cost for following failure of Europeans. But as I said, it is hard because of people who think EV, the scooter and bike can go "anywhere" and having all acceptable condition is unfair or not EQUAL, I think argument will not over. As I said the real problem is some people's Ego.
The real reason for all the regulations is money and control-they want to oversee everything and tax you heavily.
Luckily bicycles are still free! :)
@@BenDurham for now .. Mark my words there's going to be regulations on all these things. Anything that We allow the government to control they will.

Drivers hate me on my road bike, but they ~really~ hate me on my eBike.
Drivers don't see you on either, but at least on the road bike you can avoid them when you see that they don't see you. We should rename e-bikes, squish-bikes do people know how exciting they really are on the road. Drivers don't see bikes because they're judging distance by how wide a car looks at distance... squish... ops that was a bike closer than they thought.
@@tyronewashington230 Dude... in some case, motorcycle is same. I don't know where you living and what kind of sense do you have, but... if the drivers are not look around and don't see the e bike, they don't see all the moped or motorcycle too. Means they are just careless.
@@Right.To.Resistance I agree that motorcycles are similar to bikes in that driver of cars don't see motorcycles in the same way they don't see bikes. It's typical for a car driver to glance at a mobile traffic object and assume it's a car 200 feet away, when it's really a motorcycle or bike that's 10 feet away (their judging distance by the assumption of how much a CAR takes up the angle of vision at x distance). But motorcycles are 1/4 the weight of car, while a bike is 1/100th, so car are much worse for bikes. Motorcycles also out preform cars so can avoid them, unlike bikes. E-bike brakes are a joke.
If you don't make eye contact with a driver on anything small like a bike or motorcycle, the driver DOES NOT SEE YOU.
@@tyronewashington230 Wrong answer also. According to the study, the rain splitting and filtering is efficient and also safe when the less than 40 mph traffics. And especially, it is not the weight issue. The sound issue. The reason why motorcycle is better for e-bike, not only that even superior than electric car in the situation is, because of the exhaust sound.
But, if driver is enough careful, there is no problem of WEIGHT. whatever weight is, visibility is not depend on the weight, the size matter.
In this case, the cyclist is the worst.
@@Right.To.Resistance Anyone that's had sports with a person twice their size knows weight is a issue in injury. I understand e-bike advocates want to pretend a 2 ton car hit on stationary e-bike and a 20mph e-bike knocking a person 20 feet from where they where standing is nothing.
Road where not built for e-bikes. Ban e-bikes.
Oh how they forget that the roads originally were created for bikes then cars came along..they didn't ban cars they just evolved the idea of roads 🤔 bikes never went away, they're just evolving too.
Sounds like it's time for inferstructure to evolve to accommodate for the og that's never left .. the bike
Here is a fact drops. According to NTBS, 2017~2022 only 53 death is e-bike accident result.
During the same time, -2022, 4300 death in a accident of cycle. Of course that the number of cycle is 103 million, and e bike is 1.1 million. And the realistic issue is, if we think about the ratio, E bike is not as danger as cycle, and cycle is not safer than E bike. The point is, there is no sense to regulate e bike, and making registration, insurance and licensing.
IF the bicycle do that, probably we can think E-bike need too, because similar result of risks. But the cycle is not registered, insured, licensed in mandatory condition, and it means there is no point to ban e bike, or doing other craps.
Was happens if a 200 pounds regular bicycle rider at 20 mph is at the situation and no a 12 y/o boy at scooter???? Almost... anybody is responsible at their acts you cannot ban a yacht industry because pirates at some seas
The problem is that the USA does not have enough knowledge and experience to build a decent cycling infrastructure like in the Netherlands where villages and towns are designed with cyclists and pedestrians in mind.
Luckily that can change. And there are already other cities that have done it... NA cities can just steal all the great ideas that the Netherlands has come up with of the last 50 years of testing out what works and doesn't work!
You are mistaken, there are West Coast cities that have decent bike lane infrastructure. You can ride all over the city, and from state to state. The Southern states have too many racist old people and racist psychopaths in political office, their minds are stuck in the 1800's. Still mad they lost the Civil War, and their favorite past time torturing and lynching slaves.
Southern States, consistently violate Federal Criminal Law, under the color of law, for instance, Title 18 section 242, violation of this law requires a 10 year prison sentence. The Federal government has granted them impunity (allowing them to break these laws over and over, with no prison time).
@bendurham one final comment from me. This kid was involved in an incident that led to the death of another person. He and his family have to live with this. I'm glad I am not them!
We also need to ban shoes with shoelaces they are dangerous you can get hit by e-bikes and cars while tying your shoes
Awesome job… 😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks - cheers!
Does this include normal electrically assisted e bikes?
YEP which is the crazy part 😬
@@BenDurhamsickening
Yeeeep :(
I bet these same old folks rode mini bikes at the same age now everything has to be banned??? Such hypocrisy
Hard work and lots of money went into buying all those e-bikes for their families I think the state needs to pay everybody back.
So put a age limit on it, oh wait... There is one.
So if a 12 year old in this town killed soneone with a gun, would they ban guns? I suspect not. When adults in cars kill someone they don't ban cars.
Don't ban ebikes, make helmets compulsory and build better bike infrastructure, then they may have less motor vehicle deaths. Would seem like a better outcome.
The community of Key Biscayne is showing themselves fools.
You ain't wrong!
Motorcycles, automobiles, and planes all need a license. You should be registered and have insurance you can't drive golf carts on streets and many have lights not even with a driver's license. Yet an ebike are ok? Motorized vehicles should be under the same restrictions as a motorcycle. If these Ebike should be banned, it should be for the deadly fires they have caused.
My eBike has all required lights and safety features. Do you want to ban analog bikes too?
why don't they ban cars
road tax and oil company's.
Kid vs Truck.. Helmet won't really be a factor unless it's a full face DOT motorcycle helmet.
Ban politicians
You got to remember this is the villages. Occupied entirely by slowly withering boomers. It's surprisingly didn't just ban children.
that is so sad and stupid.
None of the ebikes shown in that segment of the video is capable of even going 30mph. Those ebikes also arent e-motorcycles but have a moped style frame.
Yep. Most are limited to 32kmph.
the US should look at Not Just Bikes "Stroads" video regarding our cycle/pedestrian issues. Amsterdam turned things around in less than a decade. We can too and we need real social change to give accesibilty to everyone, not just rich, white middle class people with multiple cars. EBikes are the future of travel imo.
time for a class action lawsuit
Could happen!
We live in Idiocracy. Welcome to dystopia.
If the county park was not at the end of this island and you have to go thru it to get there, no reason to ever go there unless you have family there.
What if they had this level of energy towards guns?
Right haha?
Give the police the green-light to use the pit manuver on anything with a wheel and tire 😂
Ah yes, unalive people for riding bicycles
@@BenDurham
Cops “unalive” people for even flimsier reasons.
@@BenDurham A bike can pit maneuver another bike. Guess no cops on bikes where you are, so you thought of car vs bike.
💯🙏
12 year olds should not be riding e-bikes they should be getting exercise.
Sadly facts and stats don't matter when you're old and don't want things to change. And when you're a Floridian.
Unless they're cherry-picked! 😜
A lot of old people in Florida would love to change using their golf cart on the road and banning cars. They just like changes that benefit them, like everyone does.
