I use the BareMinerals every single day and love it! I have combo skin that is extremely textured and extremely red. I just have to make sure I pair it with my primer and use the BareMinerals mineral veil on top and it’s lovely!!! Lasts all day!
I would LOVE to see you do a video with a combo of both powder and liquid foundation. What i mean is i usually do liquid then put powder on top and it wears amazingly
The studio one ? Does it ever break you out ? I have that tarte powder ... the coverage is very light so it’s so so but I hate anything bare minerals , such an overrated company
Hi, I have the Bare Minerals Original Foundation. I use fairly light shade. I have used this for a number of years and wouldn't be without it. It does take time to get used to the brush as I found at the start but you do get used to it and is easy buildable to the coverage that you want. Thank you for reviewing this foundation 😘.
I use BareMinerals powder and liquid because most foundations cause breakouts on me. I also have oily skin. I find that as long as I prime and moisturize it stays pretty well, but I use the matte formula. :)
I wore powder foundations for years, then one day, literally, I looked at my skin and stopped using the powder foundation because my skin looked too dry and it wore off in places on my face. I think either my skin changed (age) or the foundation formula changed. I only use liquid foundation now.
With bare minerals I use A few powder shakes on the cap. I blend it on my face using buffing brush in one area of my face at a time using circular motions. Shelby Wilson has great videos on the best techniques of how to apply their original loose foundation. When I first started using minerals, I applied it like a regular powder, then I learned that with this type of formula less is more.
Bare minerals is the only thing I’ll use. I am light blonde and super fair skin and I use to use fair bare minerals and once a consultant had me try medium 5 and I was shocked how much the 5 was better. The fair and fair ivory always made me look too white. The 5 made me look natural and got rid of my rosacea and did t look so yellow - try the 5!
I've tried Bare Minerals and also prefer liquid foundation. I have tried the Avon power and was surprised because I really liked it. No, I don't sell Avon though got it on sale and decided to give it a spin. Since then my "mature" skin does better with liquid foundations.
Not sure if this will help you or not, but Bare Minerals tells you to finish with Mineral Veil setting powder. They also warn that as you buff, the makeup becomes a cream and it won't look good unless you really spend time buffing it in. Like you - it doesn't really work for me either. I used to wear it and thought it was great - but the older I get the more I too feel it exaggerates everything. Both- IMHO - look like "makeup" on your skin. Thank you for this!
My first foundation that I tried and loved was the bare minerals. I ended up getting a more dense brush from bare minerals and it added the coverage I wanted and helped me a lot with the application.
I tried mineral makeup before, it's not bad but I find it's not functional for the busy world we ( used to ) live in. Something quicker to apply and longer lasting makes more sense. Anyway, I just want to say you're very pretty and that it's so nice to see women with your ethic features in this RUclips community. You definitely represent!! Xx
I’ve tried Bare Minerals, It Cosmetics and others over the years but actually gave up on powder foundations because of the dry and textured look they gave to my skin. After seeing RUclipsr Tati Westbrook film an amazing wear test of J. Cat Aquassurance powder foundation I thought, what the heck, I’d give it a try. This is the best, most natural looking one ever AND only $14.99. I have good, clear, fair skin at 62 yrs. old and this stuff is magical! Natural not heavy or cakey and I apply with a brush. You might want to give it a try. Still amazed that it’s so inexpensive and gives a better finish than the pricey ones. ❤️
I have never been a fan of the Baremineral foundations (both matte and original). I really recommend the Jcat Aquasurance powder foundation. Its my everyday foundation and I find it has really good coverage and smoothes skin texture when I apply it with a brush.
The English Mineral Makeup Co is great for something really fine and sheer (they call it 'traceless') but with some coverage. Brilliant shades and gives a subtle glow, never looks chalky. Also Alima Pure and Lily Lolo are excellent, have more coverage but not so invisible on the skin. Love your videos! xx
Nice job comparing these! I might try the Tarte. I got the Bare Minerals starter kit back in the day. It came with two shades of foundation powder to mix and match to your skin tone, a Mineral Veil finishing powder, and a contour powder called Warmth and a brush, I think. The Bare Minerals foundation never gave me the level of coverage I wanted, until I finished it with the Mineral Veil powder. But putting on multiple products takes a lot of time during a rushed morning and all those products get expensive buying individually! (The kit was pretty expensive too.) I moved to Pur Cosmetics 4-in-1 powder foundation and found it gave me better coverage with one product. It is a foundation and concealer and has the finishing powder built in so gave me more full coverage on first application. These days the pores on my nose and cheeks have become so deep over time that any foundation I use (liquid or powder) tends to sink into my pores, but wear off at the top, leaving me with splotchy coverage and weird dots of foundation deep in my pores by the end of the day. Any suggestions on how to fix/combat this weird wear pattern?
Whatever you put under bareMinerals makes a HUGE difference in shine, etc. Can you try MAC powder plus power foundation? Love the outdoors lighting to see the foundation and the wear test 🙂
I can't do most foundations, even powder. I have super sensitive skin & allergies to a lot of makeup brands. I usually just wear concealer, mascara, tinted lip gloss & a pressed powder. You have the issue with bumps on your chin & I have them around my lips. Having to wear a mask for long hours each day hasn't helped matters either.
My two daughters suddenly became allergic to Bare Minerals...1 daughter broke out in cystic acne & the other daughter looked like she had rosacea all over her face. Her entire face was an angry red mess. They both started using Clinique bc it is noncomedogenic & hypoallergenic. Daughter number 2 became allergic to that too. Her doctor put her on 3 different prescriptions to try to clear up her face & then after a couple of months with wearing NO makeup she had to go: hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic, fragrance free, dye free, paraben free, & organic! Crazy! She ended up first with Tarte, bc that covers all the requirements, but she now has started on LimeLife by Alcone. It’s a wax base cream makeup that is made for all skin types & is a professional makeup that’s been around for over 60 years, used by actresses working in the theater. I switched too & could see the difference in my skin on day 1. My daughter has officially stopped using all 3 prescriptions, 1 being an antibiotic, bc her face is now beautiful! My aging skin looks great too. Powder foundation is not great for wrinkles, drawing attention to the wrinkles & certainly does nothing to hide them. Sorry for the long post!
Au Naturale is a great coverage powder foundation made by a small business out of Green Bay, WI. They offer sample sets too. Lily Lolo is also great with a more light/medium soft focus effect.
Mila: What is your nail color? SOOO beautiful! Just got the Bio Ionic 10X flat iron and I'm loving my waves. Thanks for the recommendation! Congratulations on the birth of your sweet son.
Glad that i watched this because I was considering going back to powder foundation for the summer, but since I have psoriasis, I don’t want to magnify the texture.
I love the bare minerals as I have very flawed skin but hate the look and feel of liquid foundation. I also turn into an oily mess with liquid but my skin stays lovely with the BM. I prefer their other brush though.
Would you try out mousse foundations? They are my favorite texture of foundation but I want to see if there is anything better the Maybelline dream Matt mousse? 🤔 please do a video on this 🙏🏼 💖
I love Body Shop matte clay powder. They also do a matte clay liquid foundation. They are for a more full coverage. Please could you do a tutorial with a range of body shop products please? X
Very nicely put together with the fluffy brush💜💜💜💜💜💜 I want the gold brush well done doing on the blending part I love the gold brush blends in so nice
My HG powder foundation is IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation, but I prefer the Illumination formula. I haven’t been happy with any others I’ve tried yet. I am curious to try the JCat one though as I’ve heard it’s pretty good for the price.
@@Kitkat_foodie Awesome! Well looks like I'll be giving JCAt a try soon! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on it! Very helpful, especially since you also used the IT Cosmetics one and loved it, too! :) Have a wonderful day!
I use to love BM, but now that I’m a lot older I can’t wear it. It shows every line, wrinkle, etc. Plus I now have normal/combination skin, so I don’t want powder to look cakey in one section of my face and then sliding off another section.
Who knows what is being done to BM since Stacy(I think that was her name) the woman who created BM sold it? I wore it for years and it always needed the various BM layers to look great. Back then the brushes weren’t synthetic.
I recently just tried the bare minerals and I have mixed feelings about it, it looks great when I first put it on but I feel after a few hours it looks terrible on my skin (I’m more normal/dry)
I’m sorry to be that gal, but I hate the bare minerals powder foundation. I tried it several times and each time it disappointed me. I have an oily/dry skin situation and it seems to have no coverage whatsoever and doesn’t even stay on my face. I’ve been using the MAC studio fix for sooo many years and it’s the only one that tames my oiliness and it is long wearing for sure. It’s a hit or miss but it has worked for me so far.
You have beautiful skin but the powder foundation made it look so uneven, I like the Laura Mercier pressed powder foundation. It doesn’t accentuate the pores and evens everything out nicely.
Why only 2 powders? There are so many others that have great ratings! You should change the name of the video to Bare Minerals Vs Tarte. The TOP RATED powder FOUNDATIONS is misleading.

I would LOVE to see you do a video with a combo of both powder and liquid foundation. What i mean is i usually do liquid then put powder on top and it wears amazingly
Bare Minerals has a mineral veil that helps with the shine and blurs the pores also helps it wear better.
My OG powder foundation that I’ve been using for years is physicians formula pressed mineral foundation. It doesn’t get oily or weird at all.
Powder foundation is great for us oily skinned ladies. That and blotting papers!
I love the Mac Powder Foundation! It's pressed which makes is a lot cleaner than loose foundations!
The studio one ? Does it ever break you out ? I have that tarte powder ... the coverage is very light so it’s so so but I hate anything bare minerals , such an overrated company

Milabu, you still looks super glowy without make up.
Motherhood agrees with you.
Tried many high and low end brands and my fav is Maybelline Fit Me! :)
I use BareMinerals powder and liquid because most foundations cause breakouts on me. I also have oily skin. I find that as long as I prime and moisturize it stays pretty well, but I use the matte formula. :)
My favorite powder foundation is the makeup forever matte velvet skin.
How does it hold up in hot weather? What type of skin do you have?
I have been wanting to try powder foundations. Thank you for making it easier for me!
Look up Shelby Wilson, she's an expert on bareminerals. It's my favourite foundation!

What moisturizer did you use before because I cannot get either powder foundation to look that Glowyyyy
Yes I’d like to know her skincare routine too .
Powder or mineral foundation never worked for me. Thanks for validating that! Your nails look great!
The powder foundations are really good for people who are starting to wear makeup
I love your videos. Could you review the bare mineral liquid foundation? I think it is much better than the powder.
Chantecaille compact foundation is the best. It’s pricy but it can be reapplied when you are greasy and it’ll look like a fresh face!

The best powder foundation is Pur 4 in 1 mineral pressed powder with SPF 15!
I use Jane Iredale with their hydration spray on to to lock it in and it has a beautiful finish

I love it too

I don’t wear foundation. I have super oily skin and I feel like I can’t breathe with it on my face. Crazy I know. Just concealer and powder for me.

Can you do a video on the Estée Lauder double wear foundation?!
