Sorry about the long delayed response. You Tube had me change some settings on my older videos. Always happy to help and hope your glass is still looking good.
Not sure exactly what you mean ? Polishing out glass is PERMANENT. This video is from 5-6 years ago. The Honda is now owned by my now X-FIANCE' , but we remain friends, I see the SUV often and the windshield looks as good as the day I shot this video. I've used this many times and anything you get on the paint you do want a very carefully remove with like a rinceless wash method. Spray it down with a pump sprayer, carefully wipe with a soaked and then dry. It is abrasive so you do want to be careful but I have had zero problems
After polishing with cerium oxide my windshield became clear from water streaks during the night rain. But after a month the water streaks came back again. I have no idea why this happened?
I would think it would have something to do with the water. Do you know the TDS content of your water that you're washing with? Are there any sprinkler systems that you might encounter over the month either at your home or somewhere else? Did you use any type of protective coating after you did the polish. I put out a new series of glass polishing and coating about 6 months ago you may want to check those out.
@@deluxevehicledetailingandp904 I didn't use any protective coating at all. I forgot to mention, my wiper is quite old actually, Is it possible due to the wiper? I can't see any scratches caused by the wiper
@@anandyahamdi well if it was from your old wiper blades they would be in the same curved shape as the wiper arm moves so it should be pretty easy to tell if it's water streaking or wiper streaking. Definitely want to pick up a new set of blades and keep them clean I wipe mine quite often to keep them clean so that no dirt builds up and you can get wiper marks. You may have to do another light polishing job but I would definitely think about putting a windshield coating or really any ceramic sealant on your glass so that the blades have less friction and water clears off the glass much quicker.
@@deluxevehicledetailingandp904 I'm a bit paranoid in using chemicals on my windscreen. Some years ago I used a repellent agent that instead of making it clear, it makes my windscreen full of water streaks during the rain. Is a clear windscreen (after cerium oxide treatment) will invite any funguses or dirt? Is it necessary to use chemicals again on my windscreen?
Well first you mix it with water till you get a consistency you're happy with not too thick not too thin. Then once you get it on the glass you can really just keep working it, but you don't put any powder on the glass. As long as you keep spraying it and adding a little more to your pad you should be able to work it for about half an hour on half of the glass which should make a huge improvement. There is an updated glass polishing video on my RUclips channel. It goes over some new techniques I have been using.
@@deluxevehicledetailingandp904 alright..and is there any need of using sandpaper??i imported cerium oxide from china, with which they sent sandpapers with different grit numbers...i don't know which grit i should use or totally not.. I found many swirl marks after polishing especially when use foam pad (with wool pad resulted in less swirl marks) Do you have suggestions how to remove this hairy swirl marks?
You are getting swirl marks using cerium oxide and a foam pad? Did you prep the surface and make sure it was extremely clean? Cuz the only way I could see getting swirls would be if you had contamination in your pad or on the surface. This video was from quite a while back I have a newer one on my channel you can find it was probably about 4 months ago or so. But in both videos I'm using a car Pro rayon glass pad and that is the only pad you should be using unless you're using foam just a deep clean the glass before applying a sealant or ceramic coating to the glass. I've never tried wool on glass but if you say you're getting less swirling that's a good thing. But if you're trying to remove light scratches this will only be accomplished with high speed drill, cerium oxide and a rayon glass pad. Get back to me as to what I've pointed out and we'll go from there
@@deluxevehicledetailingandp904 The wool glass felt I used is kind of carpet, we usually don't call it rayon here, I believe we use the same pad. It's quite common in my country to use that pad. Eric, Thanks for the correction and bringing up the fact I CAN pronounce " OXIDE " ( SOMEHOW ) I'm left handed and dyslexic and have a really hard time getting things right. I'm notorious with friends and family for messing up words/numbers/dates. I call the names of places with my own messed up name, them try to tell someone about the place and they have no idea where I'm talking about. I actually make up my own way of saying something and then can't get it in my head even when I know the right way to say it.
