Then he argues the point that there's no way he's going to be able to damage the trailer, which isn't the point. Their job is to load, drive, unload, Full Stop. What so many people neglect to understand is that truck drivers aren't there to figure out how or where to get a load placed in any situation. Anything other than a flat drop on the ground might be prohibited by company policy, and if so, then in all likelihood is part of their insurance policy. I know some things can vary from state to state, company to company, but as a for instance, I drove a tow truck from '98 to '16, and I worked all but the first year for the same company. I still work there, but my driving days are over. I'd like to, but my disability prevents me from even getting back into a truck anymore, never mind actually being able to get out and maybe having to push a car out of a parking space, or having to climb down and back up an embankment carrying I don't even know how many pounds of heavy chains and other equipment. One of the restrictions on our policy was that we were towing only cars and trucks. That means no construction equipment, no landscaping equipment, no tool boxes, no machine shop equipment like presses or lathes, nothing but cars and trucks. Motorcycles were ok, but only as long as they were being towed with a purpose built motorcycle dolly. We've been towing those things for years anyway, but if something ever went wrong, we were completely on the hook for every last penny of making everything whole again. At one point, he tries to get him to go across the front lawn and around the other side of the house where it's much wider. That idea was shot down too for fear of destroying the guy's very nice looking lawn. But here's something he didn't think about, or maybe he did later, but I'll bet there's probably a leech field somewhere over there, and the old fart doesn't remember where, or maybe that it's even there at all.
@@badger519 First of all, that hardly qualifies as a wall of text. A wall of text is NEVER broken into paragraphs, and as a rule, they contain little to no punctuation, and even very little capitalization to help separate one sentence from another. I've had a LOT of building mat'ls delivered when I built a deck, steps, addition, and landscape walls at my last house. I always appreciated when the guys delivering had the kindness and often excellent skills to get the stuff as close to where I needed it as they could. When they couldn't? I moved it myself by hand one piece at a time if that was what it took. What's wrong with people? What happened to work ethic? When the driver explains the curbside concept and offers to get it as close as reasonably possible, just say thank you.

A friend of mine used to sell those Rainbow vacuum cleaners door-to-door. He told me that he always stopped at houses that had one of those shiny glass balls in the yard, because those people will buy almost anything.
He should have turned it 90 degrees so they wouldn't have to turn every single board and truss. At least they would all be oriented towards where they are being moved.

Me as customer: drop it length ways... perpendicular to the main road. There's a couple of 18 year olds in the neighborhood that want to make $20 each for 30 minutes of work moving this stuff.
Or better yet, grab a couple six packs, toss some burgers on a grill and invite 2 or 3 friends over to move it. Of course this requires that you actually have friends.
I'm the one that puts the product on the flat bed. I don't get to see this side of things. It was fun to watch, and I appreciate your professionalism. You are kind person, you are understanding onto others. We appreciate you.
Over 40 years ago I delivered a load of washed rock to a home owner's back yard. He typically parked beside his back yard garage and had carpet covering his neighbors fence to avoid scratching the paint on his car. A power pole took up about 1.5 ft of the lane by his neighbors fence and the eve of his garage was too low for me to back under. When I arrived he simply said "Just whip in there and dump it about 10 feet behind the house." I looked at him and said "I may be driving a Ford but it's a Louisville not a courier." It took quite a while but I did manage to wiggle in and out and the bastard didn't even say thank you.
Wed angle the boards to both end corners of the forks, that usually works, we could even extend the forks and angle the wood to both end end corners of the forks, did that with steel and aluminim pipes also at factories. Though we had two people at both ends to keep it from moving around, in this case, theres risks doing that.

Nobody reads walls of text.
@@badger519 I read it, every single word and enjoyed it.
@@badger519
First of all, that hardly qualifies as a wall of text. A wall of text is NEVER broken into paragraphs, and as a rule, they contain little to no punctuation, and even very little capitalization to help separate one sentence from another.
Second, I'm reasonably certain that you don't get to speak for everyone by saying that, and I quote..., "Nobody reads walls of text", emphasis on "Nobody".
Allow me to fix that for you real quick...
"I'm too lazy to read comments with more than five words."
You're welcome.
Just in case you're too lazy to read this "wall of text", I'll sum it up with something more your speed...
TLDR... 🖕🙂🖕
@@sped6954
I just skipped to the emojis.
You need to space your paragraphs like this.
So that they're easier to read on mobile devices.
And on TV's, where I ran into your comment.

You mean curb side doesn't mean cutting trees resurfacing the ground. Sometime I think the supplier could tell the consumer what curbside means. That would really help,,,,,, for the super simple minded.
I can’t see how you can stand it. I am in disbelief of the amount of stupidity that exist in this society. You’re a better man than I am for putting up with it. God bless you.
You are SOOO friendly its amazing.
I have honestly a very bad image of Americans in general, it's something I never really bothered myself about.
But hearing you being so supr friendly to this guy, and this guy actually being quite reasonable makes me sooooo happy!
The average American is a self centered douchebag… there’s a lot of good ones here too. The good ones usually aren’t hard to spot
I'm surprised the old coot didn't want you to carry the decking around the house and then build the decking for him.
You sound exactly like Dr Steve Brule.
For your delivery.
Guy was expecting yall to carry it back by hand....lol
Seem like a good trainer man lucky to get you fun helpful making it a good safe time for trainees
How did he get to that age without being able to see the obvious? Does he understand reality? He didn't even try to move his truck, just left it in the way.
People never cease to amaze me! At the moment its frustrating dealing with stupid but laughable after!
The fact that hes willing to try it for the confused customer shows his customer service and willingness to help. Even though he knows its not going to work.
A friend of mine used to sell those Rainbow vacuum cleaners door-to-door. He told me that he always stopped at houses that had one of those shiny glass balls in the yard, because those people will buy almost anything.
hey now.. those shiny glass balls are pretty cool
Rainbow vacs are incredible. Mine came from my parents. They bought it in the 80s and it still works.
Is there a name for that shiny glass ball?
@@DagrizzbI've heard of them called yard globes.
@@Dagrizzb they are called gazing balls
Making a comment about how new is this dude. When you can’t eyeball the difference between 8’ is wildddd work 🤷♂️😂😂😂
Definitely remember this guy. Man you HANDLED this situation very very very well... appreciate ya driv,ah
The way he’s humoring rhis customer is classic.
Think Great Dane and Chihuahua. P.S. on the singing, don't quit your day job.
Was that singing ? I thought he hurt himself.
This delivery driver is awesome!!
Nobody else would've put up with that BS!!
i highly doubt that.
He should have turned it 90 degrees so they wouldn't have to turn every single board and truss. At least they would all be oriented towards where they are being moved.
I ' accidentally' saw the first video of yours yesterday. So fun to watch!! This is my third and I subscribed. Who knew I'd be interested in watching deliveries!! It's not the deliveries for me. I like how well you handle people...even the Karens!!
I used to deliver carnival trailers to community events. It meant you were usually putting them in weird spots: ball fields, sidewalks, etc. The silliest request ever was when someone told me to put a 5 ton trailer on the pitcher's mound of a baseball field but not drive on the grass.
😬😬🤣🤣🤣🤣
Retired Coastie (Coast Guard). I won several cups of coffee from folks who thought I wouldn’t be able to get trailerable boats wherever they were needed, including at boat shows.
You handled that with a lot of professionalism.. I wouldn’t have had that amount of patience.
Idk how you're so friendly and patient bro God bless
Keep singing, sounds awesome.
I give that driver alot of credit...I would have left the first time he said take it back knowing he was going to be a pain in the ass
Oh boy! I want to see this guys deck when he gets it done!! My god, he doesn't know what end of the tape to use!! Lol
Almost like you posted this video over a year ago then posted it again for your 50k subs and now for a third time 👏 impressive
Legit says reup in the title, and yet has not reached all of the viewers it should have the first time around!
I can't believe a guy that can't figure out how to use a tape measure is building stuff on his own.
Pffftttt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wed angle the boards to both end corners of the forks, that usually works, we could even extend the forks and angle the wood to both end end corners of the forks, did that with steel and aluminim pipes also at factories. Though we had two people at both ends to keep it from moving around, in this case, theres risks doing that.
The customer has the measurements intelligence of a peanut 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love this comment! Shell on or off?
Even considering encounters like this with customers, this job seems chill asf. 🤙 Subbed
That's because you never did this job. No offense, but there is a lot more to it than what you see here.
@@CharlieJulietSierra true, I almost never have to deal with the public 😂. Fair enough my friend
You need to have the copy of the invoice and the contract that says "curbside" instead of all of this ridiculous debate. You are way too patient. The first time the customer says he refuses the delivery I'd be hattin' it outta there. You are way too patient.
You have the patience of a saint
Dementia eventually kills you. 😐
The second tree is really the problem, you can easily get around the first one. Would be extremely difficult but probably possible. I've Fit some pretty big stuff through some small doors on a forklift before.
You're so patient with this old man :)
old ppl are awesome and super helpful lol
This old man forgot the order of numbers, bless his heart!
You have more patience than me i would have dropped it at 15 minutes and left you did your job already
8:50 “so now you’re dirtying my freshly clean truck”
Dude is clearly just tryin to be a good worker and you’re over here busting his chops over stupid shit. Even if you were kidding (which I doubt based on your tone) he surely didn’t take it that way from his apology. Treat people better man. Raise this dude up, don’t drag him down with that negativity.
This isn't white collar work, no hand holding, whining or tears
Best version of funk I've heard!!
This guy works twice as hard at getting out of having to do his job as he would have to if he just quit all his whining and did his job. Diamond standard my butt.
Damn I really feel bad I swear every video I watch these homeowners can’t even comprehend English yet even be respectful it’s literally curbside what do people think oh wait they don’t 😂 great work sir have a great day
Wow, you sir are embodiment of kindness and patience. I couldn't deal with the 2 braincells of that pal.
😂 you're way too nice! 4th explanation I'd be done.
"We can try it but.."
Sometimes if a customer is not understanding just do this approach.
I find frequently it takes them seeing the problem happen to believe you.
And I remember seeing the lifts that can rotate the load 90 degrees so long boards can fit through tighter spaces.
