Nice review! Irish Flake is a great earthy, rich, slightly sweet smoke that seems to grow in strength, the more you puff. I've had to set the bowl down for a few minutes to give my throat a break, but the flavors are tasty, for sure - a meal of a smoke. Cheers, and happy smokes!
Sounds like similar weather to us. It has been pretty mild but very up and down. Snow one day gone the next. Thanks , that pipe is an MT pipe? All I know is although it has a shallow bowl it is a great smoker, probably my best smoking briar, its weird how the bowl never seems to get real wet compared to other pipes. I bought another just like it only smooth and it tastes sour, I think there is stain in the bowl.. any suggestions? Always an honor to have you stop beans! Take care.
I really enjoy Peterson's Irish Flake when I want a stronger smoke. I have another tin waiting for me to open. Great looking pipe. Was 50 degrees F here today in north east Illinois. Snow predicted by mid week. Welcome to the Midwest! Back to winter. Ugh!

That's a great and strrrrong smoke! 😃 But I still prefer HH Bold Kentucky, because it's way smoother than the Irish flake. Thank's for another great review, Jeff! 😎👍🏻
I agree Jean, it is probably one of the strongest I have ever had. Both bold Kentucky and HH Old Dark Fired are fantastic too. I personally like harsh tobaccos if they have the flavor I like. I think thats where I differ from most . When I hear mild I usually skip it but it depends. Even with cigars I love spice and pepper. I do like a good aromatic as well though. I hear Rattrays Sterling Flake is similar to these.
Awesome Daniel, glad you liked them! Those 2 are in my top 5 for sure, Opening nights is a good blend to smoke on a hot day. How did you like the Brown Flake Scented?
Had some great weather today here in NJ too almost mid 50s. Making me really look forward to Spring and some fishing again soon. I tried this blend a few times and do like it. Nice job with the description, I think that is dead on when you compare it to the GH or dark fired style blends. This is one of those that will sneak up on you and suddenly you are a bit shaky if you smoke too fast. What I call a Rich Burley blend. Have a good one. Take care!
Sounds like similar weather to us. It has been pretty mild but very up and down. Snow one day gone the next. Most of the time its warm enough to have a pipe on my porch with a little buddy heater. It makes me happy to know my descriptions ring true to many, its hard to explain what we are tasting sometimes lol. I look forward to smoking alot of the samples you gave me, that St.James Plug and the other Va/pers look real good so I want to save the for the warmer weather. And you are right, that Irish Flake is definitely rich!
Jeff pretty non aromatic Peterson Irish flake I always pick up 5 tins of it I tried Peterson University flake but not isn't full flavor pretty good morning blend for me Jeff take care and great job 👍👍
Well if you can smoke this or Dark plug and not feel it , then nothing probably will :) When do try it be sure to let me know what you think! Take care Peter!
AromatiX x I will! getting a bunch of new stuff. I don’t know re nicotine. Got pretty sick 15 years ago or so on cigars when I got into them a few times. Nearly puked. Since then... hasn’t happened. Prob built tolerance and genetics a bit. Just finished Viprati bowl and off to bed. ✌️
Hi, Jeff! Sorry for not commenting lately, I've been away from RUclips. Irish Flake is what I'm smoking right now. I love dark-fired burley tobacco, so I really like this blend. I thought the 30% Virginia, 30% Burley, 30% Kentucky was a great idea. One of the very few Peterson offerings that I like. Have you tried Rattray's Sterling Flake? It's the same tobaccos with the same proportions, but to me it tastes different. Cheers!
Hey Quaker, Great to see you back! although I do see you from time to time in the live chats. Hope is all well. Yeah I take breaks or get bored or busy for alot of social media, its can be too much/distracting/frustrating or life just gets busy. The more I smoke this the more I like it. I have not tried any Rattrays tobaccos believe it or not so I imagine one day I go crazy on them lol. I will be sure to check out Sterling flake, its sounds great. Once again, great to have you stop by the channel!
Excellent review AromatiX. Thanks a lot. Have a great week-end.
Thought about trying this blend great review!

For sure , I have to be careful with this one also for the nicotine. Well said - A meal of a smoke!
Great review Jeff. I'll have to pick some of this up.
Thanks and if you do let me know what you think! Have a great day!
I took advantage of this nice day here where I live as well very mild . Nice looking pipe

Have some on the way actually. Haven't had yet.
But I've still never felt nicotine from pipe smoking. 3 bowls night cap in a row.. Nothing... Limited in burley experience so will be interesting
