The point of the debate is this: In a perfect world no one would ever use substances that are addictive. But we do not live in a perfect world. For some reason, humans love the kick of nicotine. So why not give people the least harmful way of consuming it? If cigarettes would be erased, and snus took its place, it would literally save MILLIONS of lives every year.
When you have something more convenient to consume, it attracts more people. When you have one addiction it is easier for you to get another one. But I agree, this stuff is much better to have in the world than cigarettes.
I mean, aren't the downsides obvious? You'll get cancer, just like with cigarettes, but you won't have to inhale smoke, making it not quite as damaging.
I found out about snus about 16 years ago and used it to quit smoking cigarettes. I was able to make the transition in one day with no issues whatsoever. Haven't smoked a single cigarette since that day. Of course, I have been addicted to snus ever since, and use it every day. My dentist has never been a fan of my snus usage, but admits that it doesn't seem to be causing any dental issues.
It increases the addiction because the amount of nicotine received by the body is more than smoking. If you give your body more nicotine, next time it asks for more.
Snus causes less cancer but you can contantly have it under your lip thruout the entire day, causing an even more intense nicotine addiction. Also there's acid in the pouches that dissolve part of the inside of your mouth so the nicotine can get into your blood stream faster. The acid is (suprisungly) not good for your teeth. I'm swedish and when I was 16 three years ago pretty much all of my classmates were using tocacco free snus (it was legal for ages 16 and up). A few years later a lot of them couldn't even go a week without it and if they succeded they celebrated with more snus. They even got part time jobs to fund their habits. Still better than cigarettes I guess
@@marlonwoods4242What a stupid comment. Nicotine is far worse for you then marijuana, if most of these people ONLY did weed, they wouldn't have many issues other than the munchies and possibly some laziness. Stop vilifying weed, it's the only good drug we have.
I mean… if you’re a Swede you just start snusing, it’s the first nicotine product most people use here. People outside of Scandinavia seem to forget that we’ve had snus here for hundreds of years, it’s not some new trend for us. Almost half of the men in Sweden use it. It’s a bit late to tell us to not start because we wanna try it.
I'm so fkng blessed that I quit tobacco and alcohol like five years or so nothing on my back only thing that determines my happiness is how much sleep i got last night
I've smoked, cigarettes, cigars, and pipes. I never had an issue putting either down. But the snus is way more potent and addictive. You get a higher head rush, and better ability to focus than smoking too. And you don't smell like a chimney everywhere you go so there's that. It's like a few cups of coffee in the morning, is the best way to explain it. But I still worry about the long-term risk of cancer. If you don't have to do it, don't.
I used snus to quit smoking 10 years ago. I absolutely loved it, personally I found it incredibly addictive. It kept me calm and feeling relaxed. I would crave the feeling it gave me constantly. to this day I still find myself wanting to buy a tin, just thinking about it now I’m half tempted to buy some.

The statement that Sweden's low smoking rates are due to restrictions implemented in the 90s is not entirely accurate. While it's true that Sweden implemented comprehensive tobacco control regulations in the 1990s, including the Swedish Tobacco Act in 1993 that banned smoking in public transport and public indoor places[4], the decline in smoking rates in Sweden began even before these regulations were put in place[4][7]. Moreover, the low smoking rates in Sweden are not solely due to these restrictions. The use of snus, a smokeless tobacco product, is prevalent in Sweden and is thought to have contributed to the low rates of cigarette smoking[1][9]. Snus has been legally sold in Sweden since 1976 and is used as an alternative to cigarettes[10]. Furthermore, the decline in smoking rates in Sweden has been a continuous trend over time, rather than a sudden drop following the implementation of restrictions[1]. Therefore, it's more accurate to say that the low smoking rates in Sweden are due to a combination of factors, including tobacco control regulations, the prevalence of snus use, and broader societal trends. Yeah, it’s bad enough when people feel the need to tell others who are addicted to dangerous substances things that they obviously already know, but the amount of people who fear monger about using snus, vapes, etc. as a harm reduction alternative to smoking is a whole other level of ignorance imo. It’s like if you went to the local needle exchange to tell all the opioid addicts “y’know that stuff can kill you, right?”, like, would you rather they die from untreated needle-borne diseases like hep-c or overdosing because they didn’t have any Narcan, instead of taking steps that might help them live long enough to actually get treatment? It’s like they’d rather have the smug satisfaction of being “correct”, instead of just letting people use incremental, common sense approaches that will most likely benefit them in the long run.
False. Snus used to have labels on the cans that said that it may cause cancer, but it had to be removed because there's no proof of that claim. Now the warning label says that snus includes nicotine and is highly addictive, which is true.
Same here. I switched six months ago, after smoking for 30 years (since my early teens). It's not ideal, but I bet the risks with snus are magnitudes lower. Also, waaay cheaper! Especially if you get the "DIY snus" bags.

bro smoking goes straight into your blood also. New snus usually has only nicotine extract without any carcinogenic additives. Nicotine isn't harmful in itself unless you suffer from autoimmune diseases
Studies are inconclusive. Some find correlation, others don't. If there were notable adverse health effects you'd think they would find it after looking for 40 years. Nobody should start using it but it's undoubtedly healthier than smoking.
No, studies are often inconclusive, and a few of the studies that was used ages ago to push back against snus had smokers in the test group as well as not researching specifically swedish snus (which is produced and created very differently from e.g what americans would call snus). It's the number 1 reason why snus isn't labeled as "deadly" but merely harmful. As for cancer rates, sweden has one of the lower oral cancer rates in europe despite all the snus that's consumed. And it's not like it's a new product either, it's been around since the early 1800's.

I'm a cigar smoker and walk away from cigars all the time when I notice a slight craving for them more than my usual 1-2 per week. Then I stop for a month or so and then go back and enjoy them again. Think I'm gonna replace them with Zyns or other tobacco free nicotine pouches.
Banning tobacco free nicotine pouches is ridiculous. It’s still a healthier alternative to smoking, and no one is banning cigarettes! Just because it isn’t the “healthiest” option doesn’t mean it has to be an all or nothing issue. Stop treating snus like a tool to quit smoking, and instead treat it as a safer way to get nicotine. If you remove half the snus market (tobacco free), most will switch to regular snus or even smoking.
Snus worked amazingly well for me. But having to order it all the time was super annoying, especially when orders got lost and stuff like that, and so I'm now vaping since 5 years, which doesn't work as effective for me, since I vape more than I would need to use Snus, but what can you do when you live in a country like Germany where selling Snus is banned😤

The problem is with this type of product, especially the tobacco free ones is the company's in some countries don't have much choice on the very low nicotine, so it's not as easy to cut down.
Finally stopped using snus. Used it for around 9 years. Gums get the hit (not everybody) and I decided I want to have teeth and healthy gums instead of a stupid addiction. The problems still haven't fully recovered but my gums are not swollen anymore. There is no good way of using tobacco I am affraid.

That's just lucky, be grateful that you have good genes!

"Sweden low smoking rates is due to restrictions emplaced in the 90s" - That is a blatant lie!

Of course every kind of that is bad for you, but i think tabacco is still the most natural and least harmless way. I don't want tor try some new "healthier" options like nicotin infused Snus wich are not natural tabacco.
My Grandfather smoked all his life and even had an asbestos lung, he still made it to 80Y until lung cancer hits. So if smoking will end my life and it would be nearly the same age i'm still fine with it.
It's called Chaini Chaini in India.
Cool lip also 😂
Khaini 😂
Even cheeper version of this Aasha shurti chuna laga k 😅😅😂😂

My personal experience I went from smoking a pack a day to vaping a disposable every 3 days to taking 6mg zyns I get a psck and it’ll last me a WHILE. It’s nice to not smoke I run and breath a lot better now
And someone chewining "Chaini Khaini" in India is considered low class.
Snus is associated with the lower classes in Sweden as well. Also you never chew it, it just rests under your lip.
@@Regarded69yeah he said chew but that thing in India too is just put between the lips
Who cares what the upper class thinks? They are so arrogant and self-absorbed.
Chaini khaini smells bad but cool lip goods
"khaini khaiyega"😅
It’s all over Scandinavia. First time I saw it in Norway and was wondering why people put teabag in their gum 😂
I thought the same, and bigger shock was why they put it back in the box and put it in the mouth again 🤣 I was like wtf!!! Later I realized the container has other compartment for used ones 😅
Only Sweden sells real snus. Everyone else has nicotine pouches. You can't buy real snus outside of Sweden.
Try it
Tea bag 😂😂😂 is it that much big
You forgot Norway. Loose Snus is popular in Denmark and Faroe islands. Although illegal in the EU.
There is still tons of cigarette smoke everywhere, especially rude people at bus stops
How exactly are they rude?

In India the small pouch is called chaini khaini. I can export Chaini Khaini.
We probably export the raw material to them. 😅
on holidays a met two 19 years old swedish guys they told that they ran out of those nicotine thingys.. they were smoking literally ALL THE TIME.. playing volleyball, even smoking on the sea, they were super addicts.
i saw it in Bloomberg orignal why Bloomberg re-upload same stuffs again and again
Prob has stocks in some snus companies

had a 3.5 minute unskipable ad so never saw the vid, just so u know.
Aug 2nd marks my 1st anniversary of stop smoking. I must admit the urge to smoke is still strong and it really frustrated me sometimes. Let's continue to be smoke free for another year 😅.
The only problem... Its false statistics. Lots of people smoke in Sweden, pretty much all of the immigrants smoke. And that group alone is way more than five percent.

My dad had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago I’d tried everything before but couldn’t kick the cigs. I’ve been using pouches 12 days know and I can feel the difference in my breathing at work. The nicotine hit his stronger than a cig and lasts longer I don’t think I’ll ever go back but I don’t think I’ll ever quit these either
It’s not good it’s goes right to your Blood and very addictive I lived in Sweden.
Börja snusa
bro smoking goes straight into your blood also. New snus usually has only nicotine extract without any carcinogenic additives. Nicotine isn't harmful in itself unless you suffer from autoimmune diseases
Wrong! Nicotine is harmful to the heart/cardiovascular system. Increases heart rate and blood pressure, its a stimulant. Puts strain on your heart.
Is there a study if this will lead to oral cancer? 🤔
yea cause there's no tobacco in it. It's no different then sucking on a nicotine losange or niccorte from walmart or drug store
Studies are inconclusive. Some find correlation, others don't. If there were notable adverse health effects you'd think they would find it after looking for 40 years. Nobody should start using it but it's undoubtedly healthier than smoking.
then why should nobody start using @@hybridwafer
No, but cardiovascular disease
No, studies are often inconclusive, and a few of the studies that was used ages ago to push back against snus had smokers in the test group as well as not researching specifically swedish snus (which is produced and created very differently from e.g what americans would call snus). It's the number 1 reason why snus isn't labeled as "deadly" but merely harmful.
As for cancer rates, sweden has one of the lower oral cancer rates in europe despite all the snus that's consumed. And it's not like it's a new product either, it's been around since the early 1800's.
I used to vape and quote cold turkey no withdrawals after a few months I was missed nicotine but didn't wanna do valjng again so brought lower mg snus and i love them i don't have them to often 0 to 3 a day mainly 1 unless I have college then I have 2 or 3
DAAAAAM chewing tobacco is going to the next level 😂😆
??? My aunt from Lund smokes a pack a day.

I was in Lund too before my birth.
I don't know if anyone may relate but snuss increases acidity in stomach. It fucks the digestive system.
In India, people been using this “nicotine pouch” under their lips while smoking cigarettes 😂
In Alabama they use chew nicotine while drinking gasoline and mountain dew.
"Why No One Smokes In Sweden"
Literally 45s into the video: "...5.6% of Sweeds smoke"
😐
lowest of all europe tho
Are you suggesting that a country can only be considered smokeless if 0% smoke?
@@PingSharp yea good point right, it's ooooonly like 600,000 people so basically the same as saying no one does it
@@Carrosive These 5-6% are never going to go away, it is a type of baseline.
With that logic, you could say that everyone is always sick. Because the common cold, and even less dangerous diseases will always exist. "Have you really recovered from pneumonia though? There are still 400 trillion viruses in your body"
@@PingSharp lmao no, if you want to use a health analogy, I guess nobody ever gets the flu because it only effects a small percentage of the population? Infections are pretty baseline and a small percentage of the overall population so let's just say nobody ever gets it
I have recently tried Zyn tobacco free pouches 3Mg. What is amazing and convenient is the 30 - 45 min high you get from them then you golden. It doesn't last freakin 4 hrs etc. like say weed would and you can focus like a mofo on it after the high. A nice little buzz, get up and go about your day like normal. Just pay attention, taper your use, and do it every other day or every few days as to not get so hooked you have to buy stronger one's. I'm a cigar smoker and walk away from cigars all the time when I notice a slight craving for them more than my usual 1-2 per week. Then I stop for a month or so and then go back and enjoy them again. Think I'm gonna replace them with Zyns or other tobacco free nicotine pouches.
If you Snuss you Lose....
If you Zyn you Win.
Lung cancer down,.. mouth cancer up!!
No, not really
And here, in Belgium, they forbid nicotin pouches ... to 'prevent diseases' (or maybe to please some lobbies ...).
I snused 1-2 boxes (Dosor) per day in 14 years. I stopped in 2015 and that withdrawal was a trip to hell I can tell! But managed to stay 100% nicotinefree since then.
Worked for me to quit smoking after 16 years.
They’re tobacco free, probably still an oral cancer side like you get with may sugar or sugar free gum. Canada is trying to ban them so we have to import from Sweden now.
They’re ok with everyone on depressants (alcohol) they don’t like when people are stimulated.
Yep, these products WILL cause exposed roots eventually.
This product is originally named "chaine khaine" in INDIA, been selling for over more than 20 years here,
Well times change , it's their time to enjoy that now. While we should definitely regulate these production.
Snus has existed since 1800.
here in india its called 'khayini' , but there's a catch here people prepare it first by beating it within hands like clapping and they add quicklime to it and put it inside mouth , shockingly here people who have it lives long. very healthy it is.
Regardless of the comparative harm to the user, as someone who has never smoked or used any nicotine product, at least someone taking this Snus doesn't blow smoke/vapor into the air and cause discomfort for non-smokers.
Nicotine Pouches are great, and are harmless!
