You are right the fact that you become overpowered sometimes is fun and exist in many roguelikes. But here it feels even more satysfying, because of you have to make so many decisions where your build will go, not just get lucky and win

Pretty good video Sl1ppy, and there is one little nugget of info about this game that isn't really anywhere else except known to those who have seen it or are apart of the group that knows it. The enchantres npc that you can find within the bar sometimes is actually based off of a vtuber that played this game real early after it came out when no one else really was, even had the dev, Ruby, come in and actually talk about the game some times aswell about what was planned and such. Incase you want to look them up and possibly look at the vods where these convo's were held, their name is Elouyn, you can even see that their design is similar aswell.
Quick paced editing while holistically covering the entire game and having good humor, all under 10 minutes? That's a recipie for a great video man! It's hard to be that eloquent in a script and move that fast in the editing, but you nailed it! I'm very impressed by seeing such an ambitious solo-dev project have so much depth and replayability to it. I've been looking for a good rougelite game to pick up and play when i got an hour or so to kill, think this just might hit the spot. And can confirm as part of the 90% male group, I did not get the kotex fits joke but it made me laugh anyway. Great work as usual!

It's always good day whan Slippey uploads a new video. Did you play moonlighter btw? I really liked the feel of the combat and the balance between heroing and shop managing.
I did try the game, but I refunded it before the two hour mark. I "beat" death my first try only taking a hit, saw the mastery tree, tried another run after seeing I unlocked some new enemies, but quit halfway through it after not feeling much different from my other run, and thought the game would end up being too easy for me to enjoy. As someone who seems to know a lot about the game, would you say this usual? Does the game get A LOT harder and I just missed it, or would you say it's more casual than most other rogue-likes?
@@BarrelloFermin The difficulty mostly comes from Cinder modifiers that do stuff like enchanting bosses/enemies with different effects, lower the number of floors on earlier stages while adding more floors to later stages, etc. There’s also harder “post-game” bosses beyond death that are a notable step-up difficulty wise. Even with all of the above though, I will say this game is on the easier end difficulty-wise in terms of roguelikes/lites. The appeal for me comes from the sort of ARPG-style build creation on a run by run basis where you construct something powerful out of the random pieces the game hands you. If you’re looking for something on the harder side in general, this game might not scratch that itch.

Great video, flowed nicely, well articulated, with great points. This game looks right up my alley and I don't know why I haven't played it yet consider my switch and steamdeck are packed full of rogue-ish games. The UX is a big turnoff, but the possibilities seem almost endless. I'll have to give this one a shot
I’ve skipped a bunch of haelins videos on tinyrogues but you’ve sold me on trying it myself! Tinyrogues playing experience seems to be better than the watching experience
