    You always make great content. I like that you’re honest about your reviews. I was on the fence about this bag, leaning more towards not getting it, and you pointed out that my reasoning is sound. I’m having such a difficult time figuring out a solution for an everyday carry that includes my camera. I’d prefer to not carry a backpack but I may have no choice. I’ll figure something out!

    Thank for this video Emilie, not least because I asked for more videos on gear! What’s great about your review is it’s honesty : you give the pros and the cons and that is so helpful. So many product videos on u tube are sponsored and uncritical. Like you I use the Wandrd 31L for travelling and that’s a great bag but for me a little to big for hiking and everyday use, so I do use a combination of the think tank belt and peak design clips to carry my OM1 and 300f4 and the peak design Everyday sling bag over my shoulder for my EM1 MK2 and 40-150 2.8 lens. I find the Peak design bag really comfortable, in fact so comfortable I forget I’m wearing it!

    Thanks for this useful review. For a half-day photo walk I'm using a very similar bag from Hex. It makes no claim to carry a laptop, but it has all those compartments, including a fuzzy one for glasses or sunglasses. In the main compartment it will take an EM-1 or an OM-1 with a 300mm F4 IS PRO lens, so it should take the 100-400 which I think is slightly smaller. Then if you position a divider snug to the camera there's space at the end for one more lens (like your 60mm Macro). Lens cleaning kit, extra batteries and memory cards will all fit in the pockets. But the strap is the same, it works well as an over-the-shoulder sling but the bag, plus a wildlife kit, is just too heavy to be a waist pack. I like the bag and use it a lot, but one caveat is it may not be as waterproof as the WANDRD bag.

    thank you for this review - I am trying to decide whether to keep the bag (it just arrived). interestingly, I saw that your bag has dividers; mine came without dividers. I don't remember seeing that they had to be ordered separately, so either I am not seeing something, or they are missing. I also thought the strap looked somewhat uncomfortable, though I always use my bag (currently the peak design, also the same as yours!) as a sling, not around my waist. I ordered the laptop case as well, but have the same thoughts you do about not having room for the externals (I have a 16" MacBook Pro). I am on the fence about keeping this bag. I LOVE my peak design bag - while I can fit it with multiple lenses and the OM1, right now in winter, with single digit temperatures, I find it is great to have the camera and my go-to lens (12-100 or 40-150) alone in the bag - I can lift it out easily and quickly with my wool gloves (Outdoor Research) and operate the camera with gloves on. again, thanks for a helpful review.

    Dear Emilie, I just found your channel because I was specifically looking for a review of this very bag. I'm a long-time Peak Design fan but recently purchased the WANDRD Duo which I absolutely love as an EDC, and it holds a lot of my camera stuff for a day of street photography as well as personal stuff, and I've even used it as my only travel bag for weekend meetings, leaving only my Fuji X100V. Anyway, your review is very valuable to me because like me, you're familiar with Peak Design. I have the 3L and 6L slings and love them, but I want a bag that's a little bigger so I can bring a few more things with me without having to carry an actual backpack. I couldn't decide between the 10L PD Sling and the 9L WANDRD Roam. The Roam really appealed to me because my Fuji cameras are fairly small and it's not so deep, unlike the 10L Peak Design. I also really like the look and the material. But I think your comment about the strap has made me decide in favor of the PD, or at least away from the WANDRD. The whole point about having such a bag is comfort for long periods. The Duo daypack, being a backpack, is extremely comfortable, but that strap on the Roam indeed looks very thin and rough. At least Peak Design uses that seat belt material which is smooth and wide. A wonderful review providing exactly the information I was looking for. I've liked the video and subscribed to your channel, and I look forward to checking out more of your videos. Merci beaucoup!

      Thank you so much for your comment. If you have a local camera store, you should ask them for both and try them out at the store before making a decision. Both bag are very good but the comfort I got from being able to add a belt was a big decision factor for me.

  • @rachel7550

    I had this and returned it by the time was up because I agree not comfortable, however now I kind of wish I had it since it still was kind of nice using as an everyday camera “purse”, just can’t decide whether I’ll get it again in future for this limited purpose. The peak one is just too hard to get into / tightly closed

    Woa. An OMDS Abassador reviewing this Sling. As an Olympus User since the E1 thats cool because im always struggling finding a great comparison that fits Olympus gear as this is slightly smaller then the camera stuff. Had the Prvke 31 and 41 L but my main back is the Shimoda XAction 50L really is simply the best for any hike, stroll, the great oudoors. But is miss the Prvke for the City. Does it fit the EM1X (The OM1 is attached to the 150-400 more less) and 3-4 Pro Lenses? (Oh this 9L is purely for shoulder carry, not hips)

    • @EmilieT
      @EmilieT  Год назад

      This bag is definitely for shoulder carrying but I use it as a waist bag. would fit the Em1X but in terms of 3-4 pro lenses that definitely depends on the lenses.

    Rebonjour Emilie, et à nouveau merci pour cette revue très détaillée. J'ai tout comme vous un Prvke de 31 litres mais le trouve parfois trop encombrabtpour les petits voyages, excursions d'une journée ou demi journée. J'ai donc regardé le Rogue 6 litres et 9 litres (ce dernier me semble vraiment très grand...😳). Je me demandais - sans avoir de réponse si il est possible d'utiliser un 6 litres pour y mettre un OM-1 et 2 objectifs a) le Olympus 12-40 f2,8 et b) le 40-150 f2,8 attaché à OM-1ou séparément dans le Rougue 6 litres. Compte tenu que tôt ou tard il ne restera que l'un des objectifs puis que l'autre sera autour du cou.
    Je vais aller visiter Chicago et Toronto et j'ai l'impression que le 9 litres est bien grand pour la ville. D'autre part si je ne peux emmener mon OM-1 et mes 2 objectifs je suis embarrassé. Qu'en pensez-vous? Sur papier les dimensions sont assez proches mais dans la réalité le 9 litres me semble très très encombrant. J'ai également le "Large Tech Pouch" mais il semble impossible à fixer sur le sling? Merci de m'avoir lu et de votre avis de professionnelle. Un cordial bonjour de Parme sous la chaleur☺

    • @EmilieT
      @EmilieT  Год назад

      Bonjour. Oui je pense que le 9L risque d'être un peu gros. Mon problème avec le Roam c'est le manque de comfort. Avez-vous regardez le peak design 6L? Je viens tout juste d'acheter le Fjallraven pour faire du vélo. Super petit et je viens de le modifier. Il est super léger et petit. J'en suis très contente pour l'instant et il peut se mettre en sac a dos aussi!

    Hello Emilie, great review. I am looking into getting this bag myself. However, I am struggling on whether to get the 6L or the 9L. I am more of a urban street photography person using a Fuji camera. I usually carry an extra lens with me and the usual problem that I run into is to find a pocket to store my wallet and mobile phone when I am concentrating on taking photos. Would you say that the 9L might be a bit "too big" for such purpose? or would you think 6L is just a bit small if I am to carry a second lens? Much appreciate any suggestions you may have. I also have the PRVK bag pack, but recently switched to a Lowepro Photosport because it has two velcro straps for trekking poles, which I find very useful for hiking (had a knee surgery 10 years ago).

    • @EmilieT

      It sounds like the 6 L might be all you need. Do you have a local camera store, you can ask them to test the 10L and 6L before you buy. It is good to see both and be able to bring you gear in the store to try them out.

    • @EmilieT
      @EmilieT  Год назад +3

      They actually advertised it not just as a sling but as a messenger bag and waist. I am only reviewing it as a waist as I said in my video because I can't carry sling or messenger bag. I really love this bag, just wished that strap could be redesigned with padding for people who use it as a waist bag.

    • @DaveStern2
      @DaveStern2 Год назад +2

      @@EmilieT I think their marketing is a little 'wishful' at times. When the tech pouches were first released, I ordered the small one. It was advertised as fitting on the outside of the PRVKE but was obvious they had not actually tried it as it did not fit on the 31L. The could have added a longer loop so it could attach to the 21L or the 31L prvke but did not. So either they are incompetent or this was a marketing fantasy (or IMO a little of both, despite the prvke being a good pack). All to say that I think they designed it as a sling and then someone decided to market it as a waist pack too without anyone caring whether that belt could actually work decently for a waist pack. I wish they were either more thoughtful in product design or less deceitful in their marketing (or both). That would take them from pretty good to great. Just not sure if they can / will / care to get there! Thanks for your video! :-)
