I’m 70, a retired 777 Captain. I grew up in Ozone Park in Queens (near JFK) and I learned to FLY at LGA in 1970 at LaGuardia Flying Service and became a CFI with them. The school moved to nearby FLUSHING AIRPORT, now closed, but the swamp that the airport reverted to is visible in your sim. The only regret in my incredible career as a Captain (737, 727, 747, A300, DC10, 777) was I was based at EWR never got the chance to land ANY jet at LGA. Thanks so much for this simulation. It made my day. Paul Havis
I'm a 737-800 Captain right now and have landed ERJ-175's in LGA almost daily when I was based up there. Fun approach. DCA's river visual was a good one, too.
Hi, Paul. Have a great retirement time. I am 36 and just now realized that I wanna be an airline pilot. Now I have only dream with me and ordered few books to learn. Rod Machado's handbook as well. I have a ukrainian and israeli passport. We have a war in Ukraine so I can work there. I don't understand how can I apply to work in Europe in the future if I don't have an european passport? I also can't be a pilot in USA. Can you have any suggestions? Thank you.
Hi Paul, I dream of becoming an Airline Pilot every day for a couple of years now, but the only thing stopping me from doing this is Math. I am terrible at Math and unfortunately, that is why I will never become an Airline Pilot. Do you have any tips?
As someone who has tried to record msfs in this way before, I appreciate the amount of effort and time that goes into recording/editing! Especially considering how annoying it can get sometimes😅Love these videos !
I LOVE when Roman calls on final! That really happens more often than not, doesn't it? Talk about un-equaled realism! Absolutely a thumbs up and what a great touch to this video...
Wait till 2024 comes out. Makes me wish I spent the extra money, and got a laptop with a better video card. I have the 4060, and it suffers even at medium settings 😢
For added realism: as a trained tower controller for IVAO, at North American airports (unless the SID says otherwise or you’re doing a vector), we usually advise departing traffic to “fly runway heading” and after they surpass a certain altitude (usually initial climb), we then give them clearance to proceed DCT to there waypoint. Just thought I’d point that out but otherwise, your videos are good.
The biggest emergency i’ve ever faced on an airplane are ALL the goddamn toilets being occupied when i desperately had to take a dump. It was a close call.
MFS needs a "career" mode, where you start out as a small aircraft charter pilot and get paid to do flights - fines etc if you mess up, better clients if you fly smooth. And you gradually work your way up to larger aircraft until you're hired into an airline to fly the big jets. Rare "events" like bird strikes and engine failures to spice things up.
Looks great. Having flown the 73, quick tip - in winter conditions such as this one, remember to do a 30 second run up on the runway at 60% N1 before taking off. Ensures there’s no ice in the engines! Also, consider diverting to JFK with a longer runway if you’re on one engine. Nice vid
The plane pulling out on the runway which caused the go-around was a fun surprise! I actually exclaimed "Oh shit!" when it started rolling onto the runway! The low altitude during that last turn before landing was a bit harrowing. Landing seemed perfect. The fire plane dousing at the end was hilarious! Highly entertaining vid! Loved it!
wow fantastic - felt like a real flight! British Airways normally chime the call bell 3 times to signify to cabin crew (and the pax in the know) that the flight deck are about to initiate departure
As someone who has always had the best in PC peripherals for 20+ years, to play everything maxed out. I have to say this video is showing off the most photo realistic computer generated graphics I have seen thus far, truly stunning. Thank you for sharing.
I was so confused for a second. I had popped across to a different tab and I heard the music and the "Ding" and I was like "Did it autoplay a GTA IV video?"
Great video! Absolutely gorgeous. Small easter egg for aviation geeks: while the aircraft registration ends in "1NN", the nose wheel doors show "3EL" which doesn't match. Captain, I think someone messed up your plane with the wrong spare parts, no wonder the engine failed! :P
I can’t overstress how amazing it is to see these videos. The production quality is great and it runs all the way through these 30 minute videos. As someone who loves aviation to death, I’m happy to eat this content up all day. Keep it rollin man!
I have had both a go-around and an engine fire. BA flying into Manchester for the engine fire on landing. The fire engines took what felt like a long time to reach the plane, they didn't use the chute to evacuate but the stairs on the runway. The go-around was due to the radar detecting another item on the runway. The climb rate felt a great deal higher than what we saw in this video.
I have really never seen such a beautiful recording, unbelievable how it was projected so sharply so smoothly, I watched breathlessly and have included the recording in my archive because I want to watch it again and have it viewed. Awesome!
Really cool video but to answer your question: yes, I was on a plane during an emergency, I remember it like It was yesterday even If 8 years have passed. 7th of June 2015. I was on a Blue Air Boeing 737, flight 0B-4101 taking off from Caselle Airport, Torino (my home town) to Catania (Sicily). We had a tire burst during take-off, shortly after V1. Trust me: It's something you'd never want to witness. The bang from the landing gear (plus all the vibration going to the aircraft and directly to your body) made me really shat my pants off. We've been on holding above Torino while the plane dumped the fuel and It was not over for me until we safely touched the runway of Caselle. It has been the longest hour and a half of my life.
Wonderful video! You have been greatly missed! Could you share in the Community a snapshot of you your MSFS graphics settings under General Options and your MSFS NVidia Control settings? That'd be amazing. Thanks in advance!
Wow, on touchdown, that was amazing! Even when you were applying full brakes and reverse thrust the plane still was able to make it! Good job! That was an amazing performance! I would also probably never witness something like this ever in my life.
Just came back to MSFS(2020 as its now called lol) after a couple months hiatus, and i cant believe the production values in this video. My dude... This is incredibly well done. well that Detroit ground crew didn't sound very Detroit lol, it sounded very robotic, they need to work on that, people don't talk like in a natural environment, the MS FSM team needs to work on that, they need to build a data base of people talking to each other from around the world, different accent and all that, even the pilot sounded robotic, only the ATC background communications sounded real, while they were landing.
Once I flew on an Aeroflot sukhoi flight that killed 40 or more. Fortunately I sat in the front seats and got a chance to see my family again. Absolutely terrifying

My son was flying a U-2 in an airshow at Travis AFB and had an engine failure right after take off. He was able to glide back for a safe landing. Proud day for dad.
You know, I actually have to say this makes me feel even better about flying if an emergency occurs. Barring certain very specific events, experienced pilots and aware, informed ground control can ensure most emergencies still end with an intact plane and safe crew/passengers. Just goes to show that as long as everybody is educated and does their job properly, you can overcome just about any obstacle to ensure everybody stays safe! Thank you - not sure this was necessarily the intended outcome, but I have no doubt you've assuaged some fears for others as well! :)
