@@caio3568 I don't have a quarter of the landings Paul does, but I imagine that last landing is incredibly bittersweet. You never have to deal with the day to day BS of an airline pilot again, but you'll never land an airliner again either. For all of the stress/out of your control crap that happens as an airline pilot, once that cockpit door closes, you push up on the throttles, hit the TOGA switch, feel that acceleration, lift off of the ground, it's a feeling that will never get old.

Man...I've been a PC gamer all my life (I'm 49 now), an I've been simming MSFS since 1.0 in '83 when I got my first computer able to run it.
It's INCREDIBLE how far we've come. MSFS '22 is a joy to fly an the overall effects an graphics are amazing. Flight characteristics are second to none now, an even all the "little things" you might take for granted are here: wing flex, micro-scratches in the canopy glass, lens glares, how rain runs off windows...just everything. So glad I'm still around to experience this.
For the record, I also hold a PPL in the real world an also fly paramotors an ultralights, an MSFS '22 is just about a 1:1 representation of flight, especially when in VR.

As a b777x pilot myself, I’d like to say thank you for this video, it’s great to see how far simulators have come since my time.
That first landing was shocking, absolutely dreadful, however you recovered well and laid it down nicely the second time.
I would say however a strike like that to the gear system, can be dangerous to go around. Your aircraft was landed you should’ve taken the poor landing and continued to taxi, preventing the chances of landing with a damaged gear system.
However, it’s a simulator! Have fun!
It’s better to learn things on there than in the real world.
Before I was a captain, I would often watch my PIC’s lay down absolutely dreadful landings. You can’t however mention it to them, they don’t like that!

@@DeathRaven. yes! However, I believe around 300 are in process of being constructed for airlines. I’m simply a test pilot for the aircraft, when I’m not testing it I’m flying the beautiful 777-400.
Sometime around 2024-2027 there will be a lot more 777x’s in service. The GE9X engines are super powerful yet also sustain an eco friendly output similar to some of the older 777 models. Currently I fly for Lufthansa Airlines, and on odd occasions I’ve been asked to help train FO’s to become Captains/PIC’s for Emirates and Qatar.
I’m expecting to switch airlines to British Airways, since they have a large order for the 777x’s in the next 5 years. However before I can do that, I need to renew my CAA Certificates, currently only my EASA certificates are valid.

The most surprising thing I notices is how the people on the plane were commenting about the turbulence and the touch and go. On arrival on a commercial flight into KPUW we made 3 go-arounds in overcast and snow conditions that were below visual landing minimums. Then we diverted to KLWS and landed safely. We waited for a bus to take us back to Moscow Pullman airport. I believe the plane we were flying in was a Bombardier turboprop.

Close camera angles showed exactly what you were doing. Secondly, you cut out all of the boring "mid flight" nonsense that most of us would normally fast forward through. Finally, the landing looked about as realistic as it could get. I don't know what kind of graphics card (or cards) you are using, but it's money well spent. Thanks so much for sharing! Subscribed.

Wow, that's an impressive simulation, and the landing skill was great. Congrats! The camera on the flight stick and on the throttle are really nice additions. Two things that deserve to get better in the simulation. One is that the movement of the whole plane and of the wings is not jerky enough. You can see there's a limit to how jerky the movement is. There's some smoothness to it it doesn't matter how hard the wind hits the plane. Also, the sinking behavior when the spoilers are deployed is nearly inexistent or too smooth and slow to be clearly noticed. Quite different from real life. Other than those, 'Wow!' is all I had to say.

    Go-Around?
Yes. First time ever yesterday. Malaga to Gatwick with easyJet.
Winds were quite gusty, low cloud base and heavy rain. Held over Hassocks/Burgess Hill for long enough to complete two full circuits of the hold, before exiting and approaching to Gatwick. On long final around 90 seconds or so from touchdown, suddenly the nose pitched up and full throttle. About 5 minutes later first officer stated the "Captain has discontinued the landing" and it was later informed that the plane in front of us had suffered a birdstrike upon landing, and had stopped on the runway, hence the G/A.
We circled back around and landed very smoothly, despite the wind and poor conditions. The initial descent to the runway looked quite fast but they flared up well and it was quite a smooth landing, they did take a while to actually get the wheels to touch the ground once over the runway and we stopped and taxied off as the runway lights start to intermittently change colour, I did briefly wonder if the captain was going to make a "Touch and Go" like in this video. I've flown probably about 15-20 times in my life and this is the first G/A I've ever experienced.

As a pilot, I can tell you that landings are easier when you are descending with a glide slope rather than just hovering into final at 1500 ft MSL (traffic pattern) for ten minutes, which isn't realistic for even small aircrafts.

The only thing i experienced was a egypt air Boing 707 which had a engine failure right after take off. You could hear the intact engine reving up to compensate for the power loss and the pilot had to quickly land. I could read the license plates of the cars at the street. We called the plane "Mummy Bomber" after that.
And: Nice video dude, you seem to love to fiddle with audio ;) Much appreciated.

Yes, I have experience a go-around. It was a hard landing, bounced touch-and-go. The cross winds were too much for the plane. It was in Charlotte, NC. We made a second attempt which was not much better than the first, but we landed and made it to the gate.

The sidestick camera was a great addition. It nicely shows how much input you have to put while trying to land before go around. However, I didn't like the flicker effect while you added the sidestick camera near 19:55 - just a clear cut to introduce the sidestick view would have been much better.

Good call on the initial go around. Even after your mains contacted the ground, the safest option was to hit the gas and have another go at it. Many pilots might have elected to say "I've got this" and continued the landing. Maybe it would have worked, maybe not. Every pilot is trained to go around if something isn't feeling right or looking right but still, great call. Who cares if another 2 or 3 PAX pukes and you cost the airline an extra 3000 lbs. of fuel. Safety, safety, safety. In that order.

That's what I call a brown trousers landing!
"Tower, we need an upholstery clean up crew.. STAT!"
I was in a 727 that was at that much of an angle.. I could still see the far end of the runway as we crossed the runway threshold. The pilot kicked the pedal at the last second and we made a perfect two point landing.
