Hello @max737Ifly. This video was amazing as always. Also it was very thoughtful of you to show both morning and evening sceneries of Las Vegas. The landing was 10/10.
The graphics and sim are almost unbelievable they're so good. The NPC travelers, however, are going to visit me in my nightmares. It boggles the mind at how far we've come in almost all ways except how to properly represent ourselves in video games.
Properly representing ourselves requires 43 groups of muscles with individual, extremely refined movements. Most of which impact eachother. Thats just the muscles. You then have to drape those digital muscles over a skeleton. Next issue: skin. Then you have to apply shaders and textures and god knows what else. And then you only have 1 variant. To make 300 different looking passengers, or even more, that actually resemble a human closely... is basically just digital art. It IS possible, however, the amount of computing required to do that is pretty heavy. And then you want to stick that in a simulation, which already tries to resemble real life physics and objects as closely as possible. (Which are more important than the passengers you barely see.) And the physics in the simulator all have to be crammed into a package that's viable to run on high end PCs (lets be real, you cant play this game without one), which is already limited. What you're asking for is possible, but it would require NASA type computers. Not high end PCs for the private market. Those PCs would run you north of 10K USD easy. Who will buy and play the game then? Surely some people will. But their customer base will shrink, funds will dry up and it will be the end of Flight Simulator. Food for thought lol
Here are some reasons why planes fly at high altitudes 1. Fuel Efficiency: At higher altitudes, the air is thinner, meaning there is less air resistance (drag). This allows aircraft to fly more efficiently, using less fuel over long distances. 2. Weather Avoidance: Flying at high altitudes helps aircraft avoid turbulent weather patterns, such as storms or strong winds, which are typically found at lower altitudes. 3. Reduced Air Traffic: By flying at altitudes above typical commercial flights, aircraft can avoid congestion in airspace and minimize delays. This is especially important over busy air routes. 4. Faster Speeds: The thinner air at high altitudes offers less drag, allowing aircraft to fly faster while still maintaining efficiency. The aircraft's engines operate more efficiently at these altitudes as well. 5. Engine Performance: Aircraft engines are optimized for higher altitudes, where they can run more smoothly and with higher thrust. This helps with both fuel economy and maintaining cruising speeds. 6. Safety: Flying at high altitudes provides more time for pilots to react in the event of an emergency, such as an engine failure. There's more space to descend gradually to a safe altitude. 7. Improved Range: Higher altitudes allow aircraft to fly longer distances without needing to refuel, due to the combination of reduced drag and more efficient engines. 8. Less Weather Variability: Most weather systems, including clouds, thunderstorms, and turbulence, are located at lower altitudes. Flying above them provides a smoother and more predictable flight experience. 9. Navigation and Air Traffic Control: At high altitudes, there is more organized and efficient air traffic control, as planes follow designated flight levels to maintain safe separation from other aircraft. also yes it took me 1 hour to write this
None of those statements above is correct when it comes to OEM manuals. Neither FCOM nor FCTM prohibit switching on fuel pumps or switching between electric power sources during refueling. There might be such operator procedures but none of the two dozen or so I have been training for in the last 20 years did have such procedures. I remember those limitations from my B737 times, maybe this is where those misconceptions come from. Regarding the seatbelt signs: they only need to be off when fueling with passengers on board which is kind of rare and requires additional precautions and procedures. Otherwise they are switched on during the normal cockpit preparation flow regardless of fueling, according to FCOM. Again, operator procedures may vary but not a single company I have worked for (including some major European carriers) have such rules in their manuals.
This was an amazing simulation. The graphics were great and the details were amazing. Thank you for sharing, and for the awesome job with the video. 👍👍👍
Amazing graphics. Thanks for the experience and for listing the PC specs. I'm yet to buy my PC, but I don't think my budget will stretch as far as a 4090, only as far as a 4070. thanks again
I can't wait for FS 2024. I obsessed over FS2020 for a while until all the bugs just got to be too much. I was so tired of bugged ATC, broken live traffic and weather, random bumps on runways, and general performance/crashing issues. However, with FS24, I hope those issues are ironed out or at least minimized in comparison to FS20 and the visual upgrades along with most importantly, the missions and career aspect. So hyped! I also can't wait to see what mods come out for it too! I have a beast of a PC now, so I'm going to run it at max fidelity and hopefully get great performance. But, this is Asobo and Microsoft we are talking about, so its really a toss up on any of that actually working at launch.
still amazing. i love your videos since you landed in my hometown innsbruck in austria 😁. no talking, you can enjoy the sounds and the fly. one of my personal fav. 😊

@cassettephonk Of course not, the video was supposed to be uploaded last week but there was a delay with the sponsorship campaign. You can see my pinned comment yesterday because I uploaded it yesterday unlisted and published today after the ad integration approval xD
Winter Video idea 📷 Fly from Stockholm Arlanda (ESSA) with the ORBX scenery and also use the new photogrammetry for Stockholm (it's really good) and fly to Rovaniemi (EFRO) in finland or another "Christmas city". Insane that its basically a live version of Google Maps w 3d buildings - the trees and foliage aren't great detail but the accuracy of the buildings / signage / streets is crazy insane - and live graphics on the hotels / sphere adds another level of realism...
