Hi John, just letting you know that I have received the pair of Mackie SRM 215V for awe workshop, I have to say I’m blown away with the big full clean sound that it produces at all levels, my customers always comment almost every day how great the music sounds in our shop and I have to agree, thank you Mackie.
Thank you for this review, I wanted to see the difference between both and you hit all the points I was getting to, thanks for taking the time to review these speaker.
I'm a mobile DJ and currently rocking the thump series speakers (12s,15s and sub 18s). So glad you did this vid since I've been considering an upgrade. even though all my thump series speakers sound amazing I feel the new technology might be helpful in a no sub package.
I live in a bit of a trashy room which otherwise can produce similar quality sounds like the clean, non trashy place you are occupying while showing your video, so if I chose to buy Mackie speakers and try them there. The end - result is an excellent high quality sound which just one speaker can spread all over this large living room. Its an unfinished living room and that is why its so trashy but other than that you can keep a couch there, a TV, a bunch of books, and an army of loudspeakers of different sizes. Mackie loudspeakers are also shaped in such a way that you can stick them to a wall if you know how to - which enables them to spread the sound any way you choose if you want it that way. I´m not a DJ yet but have the speakers required to become one. Excellent video. On point narration. Thank you for your video man! Kind regards from Ásgeir in Iceland.
I was getting ready to order a pair of Mackie SRT 215 until now. Sounds different and much better and that’s only through a video camera recording. Will order the Mackie SRM 215 V-Class. Thanks
I have owned one srt215 for just a month. They are sooo worth the money.I love them soo much.I’ll return and get the Srm215.If my speaker is incredible, can’t wait to upgrade
Love my Mackie system just did a weekend event for about 400 people playing music for over 30 hours never let me down. I would love to add a pair of the SRM V-Class 215 to the system.
X2 want to see the DRM vs SRM-V To be honest i will go for the DRM thats Mackies flag ship speaker. It's more pricey and it have a wooden cabinet and not this plastic crap.
Hello thanks for the effort you took to give us some insights on the srm215 v-class but which mackie powered subwoofer would you recommend to match the srm215 speakers
Great review as with always been a big fan of yours for a while. I’m just curious of how they do with live music mainly Rock, I rent and do both DJ, and live music. I’m currently using EV for DJ gigs and Yorkville for live. I want to lighten up my live rig and was just wondering how the SRM-V class Robin that arena ? Stay safe and keep up the great work!!
I have the same damn question lol. Hard to find an answer. Thinking I may be better off with a fresh set of two new V classes due to their superior sound I hear in sound tests.
I Used to Dj Way Back in the late 70's Early 80's Now Making a Comeback for a Monthly Gig @ a Latin Dance Studio in Which i Will Have a Crowd Well Under 100 People For That Reason the SRM 215V Will be My Speakers of Choice Since Their Bass Response it's Outstanding (I was just in front of them giving them a trial) and came to the conclusion that i Won't be Needing a Sub with all That Low Coming Out of Them. Small Venue, John any Tips would be really Appreciated.
what’s the difference between SRM V and DRM i’m looking to add new systems currently in running DAS Vantec 12a 15a 215a 18a 218a and need typically i am providing sound for 150-350 guest reception type of events but in occasion 500 - 1200 guest ballrooms and need a good sound systems that are work workhorses i like the vantec but they are very finicky in their DSP settings
Hey there Woo Pig, thanks for the review!! Im a local musician, normally working on small to medium venues. Im working on slimming up my equipment. Thought about a pair of srm210 and a 15" to 18" woofer for the like. Would love to hear your thoughts if it could work for up to 100 people
Ok so i looked up the price of the smr v class is around the same amount of ev ekx im a big fan of ev. But always looking how would you compare the ekx 15sp to the srm v class 15. Thanks for the great vid.
I've been researching speakers for awhile now. Unfortunately, nobody has these in stock so I can't hear it in person. I did hear the 12" Thump against the QSC 12.2 the other day. Both sounded great, but hearing the QSC made it feel more like a live band was in the room. I have also watched other comparisons on RUclips, and have decided on the Mackie srm215 v-class, but will now have to wait until they come off backorder. 😔 Thanks for the video!
@@leonquinn1161 I got lucky and found one that had a tiny dent on the front cover for $100 less. I scooped it up not long after I commented, but I only bought one for now because I just use it at home for music and karaoke with friends. We all love it and it sounds amazing. No issues.
Hey John- what’s your thought on srm v class 12” vs drm212. I’ve been struggling to find a comparison. I know drm is the flagship and it srm has the digital tech on it. They are also the same price. I do weddings, don’t use subs and like big loud clean crisp sound. I’ve always used srm 450s but I’m ready for my upgrade. Thanks for your videos
Hey Justin, the SRM V-Class is actually the flagship speaker line! All the different names can definitely be a little confusing, haha. If you don't use subs, definitely check out the 215 - the bass output on those things is massive.
How does the srm 15 compare to the sound of drm 15? Is there any new Srm VClass sub out to match or are what sub is best suited to this. I ordered a 12 and a 15 srm v class because I do small one man band and Dj for functions.
@@christopherholley4724 I tried the srm out i updated firmware but thought bass could be better so i let them back to thoman also back of them vibrate id say plastic is thin or something im not mad on them. rcf make a tough plastic cab better imo i went with yamaha dxr10 and dxs sub i matched srm 18 sub it was ok
Hi John, do you have a Mackie SR18S Woofer in? There isnt a SINGLE hands on review with the sub on the internet and none around me to go have a listen to
can't say I would be a mackie person after receiving a speaker was told worked fine and was not. 1. the green light did not work 2. speaker sounded blown horrible sound. 3. the 5 eq preset buttons did nothing. if this speaker is going to fail less than a year old then not worth my money.

The SRM V-Class did have a better bass response. The SRT did sound good, but not like the SRM. Great review. How about a head to head on DRM & SRM?
I would love to see that my self. Going to buy Mackie speakers now and i not know who of the 2 i will buy.

Have you done the upgrade ? Not sure if i will go for the Mackie SRM-V or the Mackie DRM. Thoughts if the DRM 1600w are better than the SRM-V
@@theaverageguy3884 Hi, yes I did upgrade to the SRM V-Class. 15's . I am extremely happy with them. The sound, tech and durability are great.
I have been WAITING for someone to review these v-class tops ... they sound DOPE thanks WOO PIG

I am interested too because I’m bout to be pissed I got the new srm 15s

I'll have to do an in-person review myself for a real world judgment. Thanks for the video John.
The SRM sound fuller and clearer

Great review. I got 2 SRT12s waiting on my DRM Sub and it’s complete.
Did you get the sub yet?? I too have the srt 12's was debating on the SR18 or the DRM 18.

Really leaning towards the SRM15s. Still debating on those or the drms215s or the drms315…

a pair of srm210 V-Class and a 15" subwoofer provide enough volume for 200 people when fully powered up 😉
Great video thankyou, helped me decide on a pair of 15” v series. Which sub is best suited for these please?
What's the name of that last song?
SRT sounds weak....almost sounds like the woofer was blown compared to the SRM. Would love to see the SRM against the DRM
Even with laptop speakers, the difference is very noticeable.
So which one do you think sounds better between the SRM V CLASS and DRM series? Thanks!
Srt sounds good but the srm is more detailed... I might be wrong but that's what i heard from my headphones...
How do these speakers sound relative to SR 1532z? I know they haven't been for sale for a long time

what sub would you pair the srm212 or 215 with? With that kind of bass response I was kind of thinking a 15 inch sub, would an 18 be too much?
15”. QSC also has a nice compact 12 inch sub that has some serious bass and it’s not as hard to move around.
Good Job Mackie!!!
The V class does sound much better
How’s the bass without a subwoofer?
The Mackie srm 215 is 2000 watts rms?

No, not likely. They are compatible with the drm18s and the srt18s though.
