Just a reminder that this guy’s idea of meaningful donation rewards is to dress up like he just got dragged through a Spirit Halloween store and this is marketed as a super fun and silly thing. Meanwhile, I stumbled upon a streamer once who had a wheel they spun each $5+ donation with things like “only melee weapons for 5 minutes” or “can’t walk forward for 3 minutes” so chat could screw with their gameplay, resulting in genuinely funny and clippable moments.
I know DougDoug has done a similar thing, but not for donations. It was very entertaining. But there's no way Phil would agree to do stuff like that, lol...
It’s just so lazy and sloppy the way he does it. Phillip apparently interpreted this concept as him literally donning cheap costume accessories and doing nothing else.
He could wear things that are actually amusing or interesting and that alone would be an upgrade. If he was smart and savvy he would use these props for maximum entertainment value but he’s such a myopic moron he can’t think outside of the box.
It would ruin his raw gameplay playthroughs, dood!

I know of a streamer that had something of a randomizer integrated into his twitch chat. You could either help or hinder him. He would have specific tasks given to him while playing Skyrim and if he didn't complete the task in 3 lives he'd have to start the game over. The things you could do would be like, spawn a werewolf, or teleport the player onto a random spot on the map, or spawn an army of Nazeems. The results would often be hilarious. When I think of people that want to entertain, I think of that level of effort. Phil would take one look at what's involved to make something like that happen and call the whole idea "stupid" and go back to pulling Hogans.
This whole segment is just further proof the suggestion box was never actually meant for suggestions. He never wanted anyone to type anything there except "Oh Phil you're so wonderful and talented, no notes and no suggestions!! Here take more of my money glorious leader!!" Narcissistic freak.

I'll be honest, I would not have even know the criteria for a haiku off the top of my head. Embarassing, maybe, but true. I was genuinely surprised that Phil knew how to formulate one right away. If I didn't know that he would never prepare for anything, I would have suspected him of looking it up beforehand.
This segment is ultimately going to result in absolutely nothing changing. If Phil values anything other than money, it's control. He would have a full blown panic attack if he were to actually open any aspect of his stream up to his audience(which he openly has contempt for) or the detractor larpers.
God forbid his streams be actually fun instead of whatever is deemed Phil approved

On the subject of vests, Phil pulled a vest scam last summer during a slow Chrono Trigger night stream. He offered to wear a vest at $100 instead of the usual $150, and when he reached $100, claimed he never said that.

I always saw OpBoone as a dent who told Phil he’d be his manager as he does things that would theoretically make dsp become relevant again with his constant use of ai and various suggestions like the one in the video. This is why dsp takes his suggestions because he’s more free labor like his “team of editors”
Having somebody like Op around also makes Phil feel like he is actually running a legit business. Phil can pretend that he has a personal assistant or a tech guy. Phil in his very dented way is obsessed with projecting an image of being successful or at the very least competent.
You can just tell how desperate this dude is for people to give him money.. He knows he's got to be behind this camera as much as he can.
Which makes it all the more weird why he won’t just do the suggestion of becoming a “stunt stream” as he wrongfully called it, but acknowledged that other streamers doing the same thing make hundreds easily.
I had my magic 8 ball from when I was a kid for over 10 years before I eventually tossed it, it still worked the day I gave it away. But we all know, DSP doesn’t give a shit about anything he owns, his mentality is just “buy a new one or pay to fix it” because money has no value to him. He’s never had to work hard for it

There’s no complex rhyme or reason to why Phil is retiring the hat and vest, it truly is that he’ll give up easy money because it’s too much effort to wear accessories perfectly in line with the goals.
A while ago when the vest streak was a novelty, there was a stream where he took off the vest after hitting the goal, because his back-was too sweaty. People were speculating about hidden meaning or ulterior motive there, like DSP was getting teased for the Platinum vest too much, but they were thinking WAY too hard, I think DSP honestly believed that having a sweaty back was a valid reason to renege on tip goals
Hey explains the glasses because he understands his fans are dented.
I don't want to do it, but I have to defend DSP here. He did reduce the vest goal money to 100$ at one point, but he later changed vest and hats (which had been 150$) because his reasoning was that vests are too hot in the summer. Doesn't really mean any of this makes sense but he stayed true to his word. Even though it took longer than it needed to.

The reason he boosted the cost for the vest is because of the hat and glasses being added. He said it's more special when you give him 150 for it.

He should tie tips to workout goals. Clear a space for exercises, position a secondary camera that observes it (he could even use his webcam and get a proper cam as a main) and then perform movements for tips, i.e. do 10 pushups for 5 bucks. That way, he'd even do something for his health, while also earning money. It would probably be the most effort he ever invested. Which is why he will never do such a thing, of course. Claiming that one has no time to engage in physical activity is much easier xD

So the whole reward thing is from a method called carrot and stick. It’s used to train animals into doing what you want them to do. DSP wants money so in order to get money he has to incentivise his audience. Since his audience are mostly dents he knows they are easily pleased and will give him money in exchange for a carrot.
