Man this takes me back. The Losi LX-T was my first (and definitely not last) Losi vehicle. Up until that point I was just an 11 uear old kid playing with my Tamiya Clod Buster and Blackfoot. Loved the LX-T the suspension was so good and I spent every weekend at the local indoor offroad track. Got into racing with it too. That was a great truck. I'm looking for one now, hopefully I'll find a next to new or brand new one that spent it's life as a shelf queen. Just want to have a throwback from 30 years ago. I still remember the day when it showed up, I came home from school and the box was at my front door, ordered it from Tower Hobbies. Spent the next two nights after school not doing my homework and assembling the truck haha. One thing I miss the most about the RC hobby is the kit building. I can't stand RTR. I wish more vehicles came as kits. Damn lazy people ruining what was a great and beneficial part of the hobby.
I was born and raised in Diamond Bar (the city next to Pomona). My 1st RC car was an gold pan RC10 with the old mechanical speed controller my father bought me from The Ranch Pit Shop. Great memories.
My first RC Truck was a JRXT and my Buddy bought a Traxxas Blue Eagle at the same time, what a blast we had racing each other on a make shift track on a baseball diamond! Then a track opened up, might of just start smoking crack!! Because since then,, early 90's we have spent about the same $$$$$'s on this hobby,,, lol!!!
I am the PROUD owner of the XXT, I plan on fitting it with a new receiver and transmitter this year. Also, my Losi TENACITY DB PRO should arrive by Aug. 5th, 2021 I can not wait to open the box!
Always wanted one of these trucks from way back then it’s a classic definitely want one now thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Nice video to find as I'm scouring the net for LXT replacement tie rods to resurrect mine in 2020. It is a conversion kit LXT that was originally a JRXT. The truck is part of a duo that I used to race in the early-mid 90s, my XXT will be back on the road as soon as I hit the order button on an ESC because my old Tekin burned up long ago but my brushed Peak Performance mod motor still screamed the last time it ran! I've always had a soft spot for Losi and nothing matches the feeling of assembling a truck from parts and competing with it, when something breaks you know how to fix it because you've already put it together (at least) once before.
My favorite 2wd Stadium Truck is the LX-T running the Graphite Pro Buggy Chassis. It dominated Falls Hobbies 3 year's in a row!!! Running a Midnight Stock Motor and a Dynamite Sport 1'500mah NiCad. ESC was a Tekin Titan. Tires was HPI Foams... I would happily buy a XXX-T Matt Francis edition, if it could make a return to the assembly line!!! Note: this is coming from a guy who has bought 13 Rustler VXL rtr's... I would much rather be running old school Losi, rather than Traxxas!!!
I can't believe you made this video really cool I would rather meet Gil Losi in person because I love my RC cars it would be a dream to meet him that would make my whole lifetime bucket list before I die good job on bringing Gil back
Awesome history I still have my LXT from 92. I was 16 so excited about having it and shortly after my local hobby shop took the race tracks down. What a bummer
Still have my xxxt matt francis edition! And it still works after all these years! Dusted the thing and literally just took it for run the other day (bored due to quarantine)
I got to talk to this guy often when I raced on weekends at the Ranch Pit Shop. He was one of the familiar faces out there. It sucks that the Ranch is no longer there. It was suck an awesome place to race in.
I just rebuilt my Graphite XX-T by adapting a XXX-T rear pivot plate bolted to the graphite option rear pivot plate. Drove it; kinda think that's why a stock XX-T just didn't set up well in the first corner, Gil! P.S.: I gave away my Mini-T; kinda too small for me
The Junior T's fatal flaw was the transmission, otherwise it was a decent truck. However I stood no chance against my friend's who owned LXT's that came with the XX transmission. I wanted to upgrade so bad but the XX transmission was $100 and I remember this leaving a very bad taste so I jumped ship and went to Associated (RC10T2) after.
I have bought a Losi 22SCT 2.0 & a 22T 2.0 kit since Horizon Hobbies took over the name. After adding a Vilenion vxl to both kits and wishing for a gear differential, I sold both kits and bought 3 team associated kits. They all had factory gear diffs. We don't have a racing track here in Idaho Falls, but the hobby town usa would set up a garden hose track for us to race around on. Now that the hobby town is closing up, I have not much use for a racing machine of any kind! However, if a Stadium Truck was reinvented by Gill. And maybe running a factory gear differential, I would be very interested in buying a few of these!!! Just saying!...
I mean ball diffs are basically superior for everything but carpet and astroturf surfaces, they're just less durable and require abit more maintenance,
@@alyssapeanut1135I ran the factory ball diff in 91, 92, and 93 never rebuilt it! Because running those power levels, it was bulletproof!!! But times are way different now days!! Running insanely powerful motors!!! 😈
It's a shame that kit building has all but disappeared from the hobby. Ppl buy 60-70mph capable RTRs with absolutely no idea how to maintain or repair them when they inevitably break.

It's a real damn shame, imho, that they got involved with, and bought out by, Horizon Hobbies. Seems the past 20 years, they would just pump out a million different vehicles, and then discontinue them almost right away, leaving me (and I'm sure MANY others) with vehicles we'd love to run, but can't, because of no parts availability. :( I really loved my (1.0) Mini-T Pro, but was pretty disappointed by the SUPER CHEAP plastics used for the parts... If you even look at the truck the wrong way, the parts start to crack/fall apart! ..and my SNT, that cost me a lot of money only 10 years ago, is sitting with a broken trans that I can't even get parts for (and I've been looking pretty hard for the past 2 years now!! ...even got scammed 2 different times trying!)
The old trucks and buggies were better looking. Id consider buying an rc car if they had those bodies. The current look of buggies ans trucks is so bad, keeps me out of the hobby.
Need to do a rerelease on one of the old trucks or buggies, nearly every Losi fan would buy one.
Heck yeah release the legacy Losi's!
XX was my favorite buggy and truck.
I agree with the rerelease of the older losing buggies and trucks.
I would definitely buy a xxx4 - Graphite Plus
Jrx has now been re-released check it
I would buy a new XXT and XXXT
We need Nitro Stadium Trucks back.
stadium trucks, electric an nitro, are such loved categories.. i wish gas truck could come back !!

Cool insight, Losi! Gotta hit that spell check at 2:25
My all time favorite was the LXT . My passion with that car was as strong as my love for r/c ever was. Strongly recommend some retro releases.
Yes!! Rerelease a truck and buggy please!!!!! Dealers choice. Just give us a matched pair!!!
I remember the ranch pit stop. Practice nights were my fav, back when I couldn't afford r/c

I rebuilt XX and XXXT Losi trucks and I have not been to hobbystore(including online) since 2015
With the recent announcement of the mini Jrx2 I am hoping like in this video they do go full circle and also release a mini JrxT as well ;)

There was never a xxt Matt Francis edition.
@@williamwesse6114 Losi XXX-T MF Edition.
The new mini jrx2 was a genius move. Now we know your at horizon doing what you do. What do all the doubters know at horizon ???? NOTHING
….still, have my very first kit built rc, the Losi XXT & rebuilt it to a like new condition shelf queen! 😉
I got to talk to this guy often when I raced on weekends at the Ranch Pit Shop. He was one of the familiar faces out there. It sucks that the Ranch is no longer there. It was suck an awesome place to race in.
Team Losi used to care about having the best vehicles in every class, but these days there are hardly anything available & it makes me extremely sad.

Hated that Losi sold out to Horzion Hobbies!

What about the xxt-cr ? I wanted to know the difference between the xxt and the xxtcr

I find it as much fun to build them as it is to run them, searching for parts and painting is all part of this hobby that makes it great. 👍
Well said
Video completely skips the 22 series trucks? How do you skip 4 models?
