Stadium trucks hit peak popularity at a time when I still didn't have the money to buy them. Now I have dozens of (dare i say 'better') RCs and am planning to buy a stadium truck just to quench a past longing.
Do it!! I had an OG XXX-T back in the day while my Dad had the Matt Francis 2. I just snagged a nearly mint Matt Francis 1 and am doing a light overhaul before putting in contemporary electronics. I just ... really like that era of stadium trucks ❤
Got this exact kit for my 12th Birthday in 2004 with the box art indigo body! One of the best raceable RTR trucks ever! You don't see anything like it these days! Oh and the XXX-T came out in 2000 not 2002. They made them till about 2009 with the XXX-T CR.
So nostalgic. brought back memories when you opened up the box. I remember that feeling. I had the blue body, like what is shown on the box. They just arent the same anymore!
Enjoying the channel. I closed out 2022 with the Grey Edition Clodbuster. It's still sealed. I told myself I was only getting ONE RC in 2023 and it was going to be the Tamiya Brat Re-Re if they ever came back in stock. Well.....I lack discipline. I picked up the FMS Suzuki Jimny when it was on sale for $99 bucks. Then I came across an original Optima w/ box from a guy on Facebook. I bought it and while I was there, he showed me his mint RC10 he was considering parting with along with a hand-built pan-car loaded with the best Novak and Trinity electronics money could buy in 1988. I brought home both. Yesterday I bought a pair of Team Associated RC10T 4.2 stadium trucks. Aside from some replacement bodies for those, NO MORE for me until 2024.
Reminds me of my losi pro conversion to lxt. Man that thing would crap on my tamiyas. There is something about a rear engine losi that i just love. Loved the video
What a blast that looked like. Thanks as always for showing us a simpler time in RC. Losi always was so innovative just look at the new Motocross bike.
Well I never had one or heard of JR until now. Growing up I always had Futaba and only futaba. I never ever saw this advertised in RC Car Action magazine or Tower Hobbies catalogs. Wasn't sure if it was pronounced as JR or Junior. I mean JR does stand for Junior...Regardless, still a cool remote and I had fun with this truck.
I had the brushless XXX-T RTR and raced it right out of the box with a 4800mah lipo justbas roar approved the hard cases for racing I put so many laps on that truck
Loved my XXX-T it was hard to part with I was still racing it probably 5 years ago but it was getting so hard to find parts for so I had retired it. And I'm not one to like leaving stuff sit on a shelf so I sold it on eBay but got some good money for it during the lockdown in 2020
Cannot believe you broke the seal. I think I remembered seeing this on the bay years ago. I collect kits. Have every variation of the xxxt in kit form factory sealed. Og. Mf1. Mf2. Cr ea3. Blue spec.
@@rc10ndslegend87 I had to break the seal. I just had to run this. That’s pretty dope that you have all those XXXTs sealed in kit. I have a Built MF1 in excellent condition but not mint and 3 XXX buggies. Great buggies and stadium trucks.
Good to see you Ari, haven't commented on your videos for a minute. As for this truck Losi has a good knack for designing their RC especially making their buggies and truck look sleek. What's the top speed on this and could you race this?
Good question about top speed.. The next time I plan on doing a video for the XXXT is on the track. Not sure if it is going to be a standalone vid on the track or an actual 2WD stadium truck race. Either way, I can do a quick segment with a speed run.. Thanks for the idea.
If you entered a race with the XXXT you would have a great advantage. The jump from XX to XXX was the largest leap between chassis during the life of Losi. Nothing ealse will ever come close.
My XXX showed me how much 1/8th of an inch meant on a 1/10th scale car. It was the first car I made a change to and it reacted the way I had envisioned. Yes it was the 19190's.
Wasn’t long after this that Losi sold to horizon, because horizon wanted more rtr versions and Gil didn’t want that. He was ready to retire so horizon bought the company and the rest is history
I was reading that online. I believe this RTR XXXT version was produced overseas too. I saw on Horizon’s website for the sport kit, it stated something to the effect that while this truck is produced overseas it still has all the same parts used for the XXXT . Interestingly, within the last week, Horizon has taken down all their links to the XXXT line of RC’s. Coincidence… IDK
i'm sure by now he's learned that 90% of the replacement parts available for the XXX-T are used ones priced 4 times higher then the new parts were priced and if you do find some NOS parts like with XX parts people are asking up to 20x's the original coast for new XXX parts.....
isn't everything more expensive in todays time... ? It doesn't surprise me that people are asking way more $ than what these parts cost back in the day. However you can still find replacement parts which Is great. Also if you go on the Facebook groups dedicated to LOSI you find some very helpful people who will sell parts at a more reasonable price. I have accepted that this is an expensive hobby and it is what it is...
This is why people don't like RC. I'm sure the baseball guys are happy about the dust storm, wiped out chalk lines and gravel in the grass dude. Find a place to drive. A baseball field is NOT A TRACK, YOU SAID IT.
Why can't modern trucks look like this.. Its so beautiful...
oh yes it is! Thanks for the comment.
Nothing like a day out with a great stadium truck. You did great on this purchase. Congrats on the 37 days again.
Thanks Keith…This is one that I’m looking forward to using more in the future…

Stadium trucks is what got me started in RCs, so I will always be fond of them.

The XXX lineup of buggies, trucks, and nitro trucks were amazing! Harry Dods don't know tee-tee!
Finally the rock has come back

Great looking truck and a good video 👌
Nice truck, great handling!
Damn that XXX-T jumps so nicely, and runs brilliantly too, awesome stuff!!

Awesome Video, one of your best , enjoyed it ! Uncle
Sweet truck, I like the yellow, and it shows well! I think you got a good deal, only issue is spares... just keep it together and your fine 😊
Awesome stadium truck :)
This is great content, thanks so much for sharing this beauty with us. I'm jealous 😅
Great truck and awesome performance.👍😊
The XXX-T was/is an awesome truck.....still can be very competitive.....loved the dirt racing with the step pins...awesome video😎👍
Thats an awsome time warp, thanks for sharing it with us, it looks so cool.i agree with the colour, i would of gone blue myself 😎

Now you need to get the brushless one
😁.

clear windows on an rtr! a must have
@@bmxguy73 LOL 😆 right. Probably would look better with some window trim.
You are the first person in 20 years that I have ever heard pronounce JR as junior.

OMG! I have, and still use it with some of my older cars, a VERY similar transmitter. Mine's silver, and a 3 channel.
I still have my XXX spec buggy, and i saved the blue tires, love Losi
The graphite color is my favorite.
yup its much better than the all yellow one... but hey still cool looking.
Welcome back to the future XXXT.
I had the brushless XXX-T RTR and raced it right out of the box with a 4800mah lipo justbas roar approved the hard cases for racing I put so many laps on that truck
I wish they still made stadium trucks for the real world again.
At 14 my dad got me this truck in graphite, still got it put away in storage, might be time to pull it out again
Awesome find! I remember wanting a Losi RTR back in the day because they bundled it with that sweet radio! Btw it's J-R not junior 😂
LOL… you know I wasn’t sure if it was Jr. Or J-R… damn they went and made it confusing lol… Jr… J-R but thanks for the clarification.
Pretty cool I have the Adam Drake AD 2 xxx-NT kit.
Somewhere out there is a groundskeeper that hates you.😆
LOL....
Splendid rc. JR is great electronics I own the Python edition. Always a responsive experience. Ari keep up the great content buddy.😊
Thanks. I have another JR for my XXX BK2 buggy. Never got around to testing it yet.. Hopefully soon..

How much did you get it for? I have an XXXT i just found and got lucky no body though

Awesome!
Sweet.!!!
I really wish they would have kept making these
I wish Losi would come out with a new Rtr version but has alot of kit upgrades as well but still affordable.
Why haven't you raced at the dirt track yet this year?
don't know...

@@RCRetro No problem.
How did you get that cool video at 8:30 from ahead of the truck?
A lot of running, a GoPro and a self stick... bam movie magic

What a cracker of a truck that is Ari.
I'm not quite sure how to take that... what does that even mean?
@@RCRetro fantastic/belter/ the bees knees/ stunning.....that's what cracker means here Ari.
@@semperatis oh..lol...ok. Just wanted to make sure 👍 thanks for the comment. Yeah this truck is pretty awesome.
Losi should have brought back their X pattern tires and the spoked rims

lucky!!!

I still have my XXXNT BENCH BUILT by a Losi team member
when is phil going to whip your ass with with the Tamiya stadium blitzer ?
not sure lol
Make that the 1990's This was the best I would be, just less than 50 years old. It was the best I would race.

Bro!!!!! Did you sit in gum.😅
huh...?
It was the first Losi that would steer with the first channel. The XXt required the correct throttle input.
