    This brings back a lot of memories! I remember getting this truck for my birthday as a kid. Spent lots of time wrenching and driving that thing! So much fun!

    I found my OG JR-XT not that long ago, it definitely hasn't seen a track in about 30 years. I want to get it running again for sure. Thanks again Jason for taking the time over the summer to talk with me at the RC Monster Jam at RC Madness.

    Awesome that you were able to get a good replica of it. Sweet that you have the race day photos to go with it.

    Everyone should go to TLRs Instagram and tell them to re-release the Jrx-2 and the Jrx-T.

    So many resurrected memories watching this! The Old yellow SCE cells (that preceded the red SCR's, and black scrc's) I remember everyone clipping the tire pin spikes. Proline soon followed suit with releasing the "stubby" tread series. This was the first real track worthy racing truck, groundbreaking at the time. its "competition" at the time consisted of the Tamiya HiLux/king cab, a kyosho I don't recall the name of, and the much more expensive Traxxas Blue Eagle (the original one, that came with pin spikes on all 4) and the JrXT just blew them all away with ease. Thanks for the memories.

    definitely one of the coolest stadium truck bodies ever

      In my opinion, it's not cool.
      It's really cube-ish

    The JRX-T is the reason(even though I run an AE Stadium truck) why I run orange wheels...just a cool throwback!

    I remember the JRX-T was the first then the Traxxas TRX-T Eagle, Kyosho Outlaw Ultima then Associated released the RC10T. Stadium trucks were the best class in my opinion back in the 90's. Great video can't wait to see what you feature next.

      I remember getting one of these used from my hobby shop and then meeting the original owner and how proud he was of that truck and I was very impressed with it and raced it and ended up taking 3rd place

    • @stevendunn3059
      @stevendunn3059 4 года назад

      @@diggy2107 IIRC, Traxxas was first to make a true racing style truck with the hawk a year before losi, following a year later with the $400 blue eagle. Both had the graphite pan, but the blue eagle introduced a slipper and revised suspension. Both (the hawk/blue Eagle) had similar bodies and kits came with pin spikes on all fours. Traxxas reused the blue eagle name over the next few years for complete platform redesigns in the 90s. Crazy to think back how expensive this hobby was then not even taking inflation into account. When we wanted our diffs to slip a bit cos slippers didn't yet exist...

    Really love that you have shown your Losi truck. Still have my losi LX-T (with double x tranny) and my NXT graphite plus (nitro) in the basement and you can see in your video that the steering
    bell crank seems to be the same but at that time you can see that you had to tape the servo to the chassis they upgraded that in future versions of the truck but it's nice to see where it all started.

    In 92 or 93 , I forget I raced one of these in the modified s . My biggest was the north American Coca Cola challenge championship title in the 2wd dirt. It was by far my winningest truck I raced for 2 yrs . I put a ball differential and a few other tricks on into it. I had a whole trophy room full of trophies won with this beauty.

    Jason, I want to say that Jay's truck had a flat 7 cell battery pack. Some of team Lost Driver was cutting out part of the windshield. I was at the winterchamps that year and remember you winning the Truck. But traxxas had a truck, I think it was called the blue Eagle and Schumacher had a truck called the Shot-Gun. I love truck racing and short course is number # 1 and stadium truck is # 2.

    • @stevendunn3059
      @stevendunn3059 4 года назад

      I completely forgot about the shotgun! Probably the ugliest stadium ever. It was a sloppily Frankenstein mishmash of parts thrown together by Schumacher to cash in on the truck craze, with the ugliest combination of wheels/tires/body to match

    The original JRx2 was my first race spec buggy and second race spec RC car. I’ve got plenty of memories tied to Losi buggies in the early days I remember the performance kit being basically the longer JRxT chassis & shock towers the H arm rear suspension etc. I got better at driving moved to the Pro-Se & LXT respectively sold them both when I stopped racing off-road but purchased the then new XXT-CR as a shelf queen still have it (Hydradrive and all) wish I still had that original JRx2 though 😢

    I have a JRX2 conversion. I put in a Jack Johnson Motown Missile 12 turn motor and it was amazing. I would just burn through NiCads all afternoon. I would love to update the electronics and get it running again.

    My first professional buggy was the JRX pro. Still wish I had it to this day.

    My childhood in a single video. I sold mine a few years ago and I should not have. I can buy again, but my original is gone... That is so cool you won that from Halsey! Was that in RCCA? I almost want to say I remember that pic. Or, I am just on a nostalgia brain trip.
    Associated was so late to the game with the RC-10T. I remember nothing else could beat the JRX-T back then. I won a couple mains with it!

  • @crazylarryjr

    You need to do a story, on how team Losi went from a parts manufacturer to an RC car brand, on the level of Team Associated. That story in itself is worthy of a vid, some parallels with Lamborghini's supercar story

    Was my 1st first rc. The transmission was terrible for carpet though. Carpet stadium was a trans killer. Had to eventually switch to the stealth transmission for lack of funds for more outdrive gears and losi was scarcely populating the hooks.

    I forgot that Jammin' Jay left Team Associated and went to Losi. I still have many parts for this truck as it was my first stadium truck back in 91 or so. Maybe I should find another one because I need a vehicle for my Brian Kinwald signature motor. 🤔

    Made my (and all others) blackfoot/beetle/brute/big bear obsolete. Wanted to focus on production truck as they called it 1 more yr but dad said prolly wont even be a class for monsters next yr. he was right. Some would go another year with their JG conversions or kingcabs but they were no match for this truck.
    Funny how 15yrs later nitro did same thing. Everyone was racing MTs (maxx, savage, mgts, lsts), then actual truggies (conversions) came along before finally the hot bodies LSP defined what was to be.
