Ironically, big cities would be mostly abandoned and scrapped in real life especially due to the failure of utilities and disease issues. We know this because once the aqueducts of Rome were wrecked, the city's population fell and stuff inside was scrapped for home construction in rural areas. Big cities in the Fallout universe would be stripped of concrete which would be cut into blocks for house construction and all the steel would be smithed into tools instead of left to rust. At the very least, the remains of the cities would be turned into large walls in rural areas to keep deathclaws and other wild animals from getting in.

Usually you'd expect a more jovial or 'quintessentially 50s' song for anything fallout now, but the choice of such an outright somber song for a mod where you'll probably be stepping over the ruins of the most industrial cities in the United States is just so fitting. Fo4 pre war was the late 70s canonically and with the post war theme you'd think they would have included more Vietnam Era records into the fallout sound track to not only fit the theme but to connect it directly to the history and overall moral of the stories
Both FNV and F3 share the Gamebryo engine, which was known for being quiet difficult to work with and is currently outdated. Despite this, I do agree that it had an appealing design
@@ncrranger2281 that too, but an engine can effect how things look. I don’t doubt newer engines can mime older console looks and their respective art styles. For F3 and FNV their designs are iconic in my opinion

@@jackpitman15 Chicago is disconnected from New Vegas they know your a courier but have no idea who or what you represent so I'm sure you'll enjoy the skill checks and RPG aspects. Our dialogue works like Fallout 1 and 2 with the better features of New Vegas Quests.

Thanks were trying to mix our factions in with the established cannon of Chicago so fans feel like this is a Fallout game but has it's own story to tell.
I always expected a somewhat syndicalist/communist union to form in Chicago from all the factory laborers like in the Pitt, but a mob crime union is very interesting too.
I really enjoy the fallout 1 intro theme we got going here. Also the music choice was beautiful, spot on to fit the reality of the world post the Great War.
As a Chicago native I'm very much looking forward to this! I'm not sure how ambitious you will be with this mod but I hope you do something interesting with our tallest building in the city the Sears Tower.

@@MarkSamurai5 That'd be way too big for one Fallout game, WAY too big, Detroit and St Louis WAY too far away. They had to cut a bunch of stuff of what is in the real life borders portrayed in FNV to even remotely make the game happen. Even 4 is relatively small compared to the space of the area.
The true crime fan in me would appreciate a reference to a certain clown ,but if you think that would be unnecessary and/or too dark I get it. Looks promising, looking forward to see more.
