I can’t believe this is finally happening! I remember seeing Hocus Pocus in the movies in 1993 & it’s been one of my faves ever since. This is very exciting!

I have to say. You are one hell of a narrator. You never have pauses or breaks like many do when they lose focus. The detail in your stories are unreal and you obviously do lots of research and always look and sound prepared. Thank you for what you do and keep pumping out the amazing content.

I’ve started reading Hocus Pocus 2. I’m sure they’ll probably follow that pretty closely. Turns out the Sanderson Sisters had another sister, Elizabeth. That may carry over into the movie… 🤷🏻♀️
They have big shoes to fill, its gotta be epic! I watched it as a kid and still watch it now with my kids. One of my all time favourites. You guys are the best!

Bro I’m born and raised in Providence and went to community college in Lincoln so the fact that one of my favorite childhood movies is filming a sequel in my old stomping grounds got me excited!!!

In Salem Massachusetts which is where they recorded Adam Sandler's last Halloween movie there, Hocus pocus the first one, and Rob zombie Salem's lot..

Hocus pocus has to be one of the best movies of all time to me, especially when it comes to Halloween time which is the best time of year lol. I have a 5-year-old now and I have been letting her watch all the movies I watched when I was a kid it is just so amazing watching her watch them and loving them as much as I do!

I wonder if there using the drone for aerial shots like the beginning of the first Hocus Pocus movie which would be really cool! I’m hoping Hocus Pocus 2 has a lot of great practical FX like the original did and not heavily rely on CGI

I worked as an usher in a movie theater when this movie came out - right before my sophomore year of high school.To be honest, the movie tanked. It didn’t draw a crowd, probably because it came out during the summer. Myself and the other ushers liked to watch this movie during our lunch because it was fun. I’m 43 now and have two boys of my own. They both love to watch this movie, especially near Halloween! I’m glad this movie is getting the attention it deserves.

You two were smart to visit when you did! I decided to take a drive to the park last night to see if I could see anything going on. Unfortunately the weather was pretty lousy yesterday, so I’m not sure how much filming they ended up doing. But we couldn’t even get into the park. One of those road billboards that said the park is closed to the public all this week. There was a cop sitting at the entrance with his lights on. I did manage to get a quick photo of the set form the road. Basically the same angle that you guys got. Also did track down the production base camp got that set. They’re setup in a parking lot at the back of the Twin Rivers Casino in that area

I just moved from RI I was there when they first pulled into Providence and lived in Newport when they were filming it. It was pretty cool to see some making of the movie. One of my favs

Prolly be a long comment, so i apologize... but Dude if you're in Providence you should do the Lovecraft spots! Just be warned the cemetery security is pretty hardcore where he is buried. near the back of the cemetery on the north side at the end of Beach where the road ends at the river there is a pretty cool and creepy crypt back there. I've visited HP 3 times and one of the 3 time a security guard (he was very nice) Hovered because it's a private cemetery and technically you aren't supposed to take pictures. The other 2 times, if you drive in knowing where you are going they don't seem too. His grave is pretty much where Pond Ave Stops and intersects with Hemlock. But there is some awesome spots from his stories and his real life. The Fleur de Lys façade is incredible. Going to St. John's at midnight to write and ponder a bit was awe inspiring. Same with Prospect Terrace Park. The Lovecraft spots are super cool. The only one i didn't get to fully explore was Ladd Observatory as it's only open for like 2 or 3 hours a week. Still cool to visit. and if you're looking for an awesome place to eat, Ken's Ramen around the block from the Biltmore Hotel downtown, best ramen i've ever eaten. Providence has a TON to offer. Oldest Indoor Shopping Mall in america is also pretty cool. mall, with not too many stores, but still a cool spot. Haven Bros diner, while the food is So-So still has a cool story behind it. I've spent a ton of time over the last 10 years here for work. Great city. Shame you weren't around when they were doing River Fire. They set the river on fire. really cool. The Providence Athenaeum is also super cool to visit, There is a Bust of Lovecraft in there. Anyways. yeah. Providence rocks.

Random fact: i live in the town that the movie Signs was filmed in. They filmed literally down the road from my house in a corn field at the local agricultural college.

Great video! Most of New England is magical during Halloween. Did you know that R.I. was founded by Anne Hutchinson? She was a Puritan who was banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1638 along with many other Puritans for alleged Heresy. Most of the "banished" settled in what is now R.I.- By the way, Have you stopped in Sleepy Hollow, NY yet? It looks like you may have missed it. I hope not. I love Sleepy Hollow and I have been dying to see a video from there.

From a few articles I’ve read, they will be burning this village down durning filming 🔥 Allegedly Mother Sanderson will be a characteristic the film and according to reports, they are looking for an “ageless beauty in the vein of Cher or Diana Ross!

So cool you guys got to see the set in person! Hocus Pocus was a big part of my childhood. Not sure how I feel about a sequel tbh, though. I'm definitely excited on the one hand but the original was such a small scale, cozy story, and because sequels always tend to go bigger and broader, I'm worried that it'll be too different and the vibe will be all wrong. I'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for sharing your visit to the set!

That was a horrible book and a fan written book and I am hoping that is not the plot to the movie.
I’m from Providence. I use to go to a private middle school around the corner from the Armouri and we use to use the place for gym class since our school had no gym… pretty cool. Hocus Pocus is my ultimate favorite Halloween movie. 🎃🎃

Lol, neither did I, until I tried to come home through the downtown area in Newport where they were shooting and had to detour. One of my students works at the hotel where production crews stay when they're in town, got to meet some of the actors.
