If you want to speed up the ruffle process, instead of making multiple rows of 3 double crochet in each stitch, you can use the treble crochet stitch to make the stitches taller and lower the amount of ruffle rows.

I am going to try your technique for crocheting in the round. That seam and that hole have been driving me crazy. I always have trouble with counting and losing or having too many stitches.

I love your tutorial, but i would love to see you with it on, i have made a few but your seam like it's better but i can't tell how it fits and you use less rounds for the body if the hat, can you show you wearing it to see the fit, thank you, i am a new follower and really enjoyed your directions in this video with NO SEAM SHOWING

If you try this pattern again, when the circle fits the perimeter of your head. In The next row, crochet into the front loops only. This will create more of a hat shape. Also try one more round of decreases if you don’t like the fit.
