I wasted my early 20s… here are 25 lessons I’ve learned.

- As always, I hope you all enjoy today’s video just as much as I enjoyed creating it! Xoxo
Please keep the people of P*lestine, Sudan, Congo, Tigray and other regions facing gen*cide, oppression and inhumane living conditions in your prayers. It’s so easy to become desensitized the more we are fed images of these horrible circumstances but from our privileged positions, the very least we could do is keep our hands on the pulse, spread awareness and continue to make dua for the innocent people who have passed along with those who are currently still living in these horrific conditions. May Allah have mercy on the ummah and may He grant us all peace, freedom and justice, ameen.

I no longer believe in the best things in life take time. After losing close ones that were very young. I realized we shouldn't assume we will have time.
So sorry to hear this I lost my father at very early age and I same like y but after years now I am thankful and satisfied cuz atleast my father don’t bear the things we bear
alot of advice is not a one size fits all. one persons can hear 'relax, we have time' or gary vee says 'have patience' and they can be successful, or not.. while others feel that time is running out, and still become successful or not. its all circumstantial and how you respond to lifes random series of events that it throws at you i suppose.. but ur not wrong for thinking how u think was the point i was trying to make lol
Even the bad things don’t lost
From someone who has lost someone just recently, Amen to that!
I am very very sorry for you!
But I think Tomiwa meant this for patience and discipline, it’s absolutely not about shifting your life🫶🏼
I prayed hard for a job at Tesla. Got the interview and it went exceptionally well but I wasn’t hired because of my previous contract work with a company that partners with them. I was so hurt behind this and didn’t understand why Allah wouldn’t want me to have a $22/he job that would solve all my worries and allow me to move out on my own, save and invest money etc. Yesterday, 15,000 got fired. It was him protecting me. I’m so grateful
Rejection is God's PROTECTION
Jesus loves u .
Wow. 15,000?
I’m turning 25 in aug, and that rude awakening that you mentioned that the attention suddenly fades…living that now.
And I’m constantly fighting the ‘comparison demon’. Coz i feel so behind, all my friends are working & living their best lives and I’m still at college and find myself breaking down more often lately.
It feels good to hear this advice❤
I definitely am tearing up just reading this because I can relate and am in the same position - though I’m positive because sometimes there isn’t a right time to start, but it’s for us - we’re choosing ourselves to start this new chapter and can’t wait to see it through! We got this hun ✨✨✨
Attention from what? And I'm 24, and have always felt behind, but I'm autistic, so I learned that I will never get over that feeling.
@@marzemarcel9529 men, social media, etc. Hence, why it’s important to not waste your time seeking validation from others and just move at your own pace and do things that benefit you and bring you happiness 🙃.
I have a different take on this, I have noticed that the WRONG attention has faded as I’ve gotten older. It’s a quality over quantity thing for me. Guys look at me and say ”she seems mature and about her stuff,” so in return I have had less men without their stuff together try to get at me.
Im turning 25 in august too and I’m in the same position, I feel exactly the same
Ramadan Mubarak ! May Allah accept our fasting and our prayers 🤲🏾❤

number 23 !!! when i was applying for jobs, i kept getting ghosted, rejected, everything. i kept telling myself that something better is waiting for me and Allahumdullilah i got the one job I really wanted.

I haven’t watched the video so I want to say: Covid stole 3 years from us (I’m turning 25 this year) I truly feel younger in my life experiences because there were 3 years where I felt a lot of complacencies
Exactly, i had just turned freshly 22 right before lockdown started. Our early 20s were stolen from us, now were in a place were we "should" be further along but it feels strange
relatable i started uni late too feels weird and demotivatin i dont feel my age at all this year went by too quick 22-23
@@africanodyssey4805 exactly!!!
@@aena5995 I got my AA but I decided to go get my BA and now I’m 24 living in a dorm at university and this is definitely not where I thought I’d be at this age lol but I’m happy to be here!
@@laurenneldapascal I wouldn't mind it if I wasn't still living in my shitty country in my shitty childhood room lol
Honestly You didn't waste your twenties at all. It's all come full circle. You're spreading such a positive and beautiful message and everyone listening has something to gain from this message. So thank you for this !!
Turning 20 this year, i am going to implement everything I learn from this video ❤
Turned 20 rn🎉
@cindymudoti Happy birthday🎀 Hope you have the best year! We are growing upp🥹💕
Sameee
Me too. Cheers to 20

Lesson 1:
We learn through both experience and example, and both are valid. Still, the application form and scope is unknown too me.
Yes both are valid!! I’ve just come to realize that I’d rather learn by example as much as I can
What if it concerns marriage?
Didn't know I needed this fr, I'm turning 20 this year it's really emotional and scary at the same time. Thank you for being the big sister I didn't have. ❤
Same😭im so scared, I moved abroad for college, have no friends feeling lonely, and see myself just aging I'm just gonna continue telling myself that I'm 19😭 so I don't have to panic and feel anxious about missing out on my teen journey!
@@nami20622 you can't age that much in one year between 19 and 20😭those two are basically the same. Unless you are older than 20 and notice you look different which is normal
I think that it’s great to take advice from people in the position you want to be in but also great to listen to people who aren’t in the position you want/ who failed at something. They could warn you and tell you what went wrong, what they wish they could’ve done. This will help use avoid certain mistakes or do certain things to get where we need to go!
omg!! i'm 21 turning 22 this year and just realized #5 in my own life and it's the truth!!! i always feel better about myself (the inside and out) and my own life when im actively walking and growing in faith!! this is the first video of yours i've seen, subscribed!! 🥰
I am 33 and I needed to hear this. I think it’s not age based, just good advice in general. Sending blessings, thanks!
Have been loving the vocals only recently!! May Allah reward you for your efforts!
Ameen!! ❤️❤️
Whew this is my first time seeing your videos and girly it was SO needed. I love your vibe and as a newly 24 year old 😭 I have messed up countless times, but thank God for his faithfulness and redirection I’m learning to obey and trust his plan in totality and do my part. Thanks so much for sharing ❤!!
the way I was nodding my head the entire video!!!! Allahumabarik amazing reflections & reminders, loved this sm 💞💞💞
I'm older than you and honestly these are all great tips, thanks for your work with putting up this video. May Allah bless you with the best things in life and open you the doors of Jannah
22 and I will be returning to this video annually because girl it's an absolute goldmine!
I feel so grateful I found your channel ! Your lessons resonated with me and I will definitly take them into consideration. I wish nothing but happiness sincerely
The beginning is so relatable about being hard headed and not listening to others around you, it’s important to especially coming from your parents. Ps you have a beautiful smile!!
This has got to be one of the best videos I've ever watched on RUclips mashAllah. Thank you sis.
This was such a beautiful video. By Lesson 24 I was bawling my eyes out. Thanks for these reminders. I really, really needed to hear them.
I love the way you talk, it's so calming! And I love your makeup!
The way I could relate to almost all these lessons, I was just nodding all through the video❤️ Allahumabarik , May Allah continue to bless you❤️loved it so much
Thank you so much for sharing. These are beautiful lessons and despite the title saying you wasted your early twenties, you did not. Everything happened exactly as it needed to and now you are in a position where you know better and have leveraged previous experience and mistakes to reshape your life and journey. You radiate spiritual growth and display that the lessons you share are rooted in divine purpose and intervention. You are blessed.
Really enjoyed this conversation. I was feeling down this morning and decided to watch something on RUclips and I feel so much better after listening to you.Thank you❤
Wise lessons for all demographics! Especially: honouring your parents no matter what mistakes they have made in the past. Thank you! - From a white, 30-year-old Christian male.
The way I needed this video it's like you answered all my thoughts. Alhamdulliah I found you.
I’ve been applying for jobs for 4years now. And those rejection emails are really starting to break me😢. But i still have faith
hire someone professioan to edit ur resume
Videos like this remind me of why I love you so much I literally sat and watch the entire video. No skips no fast forwards and it really poured into me and spoke to me. This is coming from someone who is not Muslim, but is faith based I really enjoyed every single lesson. As I enter my 20s, I want to be intentional about every step of the way and this was a very enlightening video. Thank you so much. Love you lots.
This was such a great watch Tomiwa ❤️❤️ thank you for all the lessons would definitely give it a re-watch

Love how God was sought after in each point that you made. Truly seeking Him makes EVERYTHING else fall into place ❤️❤️❤️
Thank u for this. Compassion and forgiveness was something I struggled with. But we are all human, much better to love than to hold onto resentment

And the Quran/ Islamic references 🤎🤎
Girl! I love, love this 🎉 when things don't go my way, it's cos God's protecting me from something hideous. Alhamdulillah 🥂
3:55 ugh I LOOOOOOVE Tony Gaskins! Been watching him for years I kid you not. 😌💯
As we are the same age, I’ll add that I’ve shifted my perspective on nurturing my 20-something’s within my spiritual journey when realizing that we 20-something’s are being more encouraged to earn money to pay bills, splurge, have a car, be “independent”, etc. than we are to work on ourselves internally.
That changed the trajectory of how I wanna spend my 20s under the roof of my parents’ home. Using the time to work on myself as a person, so it can be a contributor to how I pour into other areas of my life, rather than being worried about how “independent” I am or how I pay bills and still not having a healthy relationship with myself/people.
AHHHHH!!! Sameee this is a Tony Gaskins STAN account 🫡🫡🫡
@@TomiwaRodiaI just edited my comment as I’m now seeing your response lol. But yes, I vouch for him!
@@EditsByMani just seeing the rest of your comment! I love this and I totally agree 🫶🏾 we have too many people neglecting the internal work that needs to be done in the name of chasing materialistic success sadly
Thank you so much. Thank you for who you are!
Thank you for mentioning Palestine, Sudan, Congo, and Tigray in your description! Additionally, I really resonated with the "If you have faith you'll have higher self-esteem and confidence" part of the video. It's easy to become distracted which can lead to feelings of ungratefulness so I appreciate this comment because having blind faith and overall hope that things will get better is enough to keep me going to help others I meet who may need encouragement and also keep myself in a state of gratitude and grace.
It does resonate, I'm happy having witnessed the honesty u reported these thoughts with
Every single lesson/tip 🤌🏾🤌🏾
Relationship between self esteem and iman, so true💯❤️
In love with all the advice in this video. May Allah bless you. Your words had a powerful impact on me 🤍🤍
I love you soooo much tomiwa ♥️😂!!! But seriously may Allah increase you in wisdom and beneficial knowledge.
Omo! How I see it is that what’s done is done, the only way now is forward and hopefully upward too 🙏🏽
allahuma barikkkkk ur vibe is so refreshing sis jazakallah for sharing this video x may Allah bless you abundantly in this life and the next ameen
im so happy i found this channel ❤🙏🏾
perfectly said!! loveddd this!
I've only read the title and I'll watch this later. I just wanted to comment to you that: Nothing is wasted, if you've learned lessons. The two terms (waste and learn) do not belong in that same sentence.
My first time seeing and hearing
You and I’m thankful that I did, I watched this video from start to end
Thank you 🙏
I truly needed to hear lesson 13. Thank you 🩷 my body dysmorphia is really taking over my mind at times 😔

23, still have 2 years till my mid twenties, I've gone through a lot these past years, but alhamdulillah ,not gonna lie i procrastinated a lot and wasted opportunities, but as you said we all make mistakes, i just hope the mistakes i made won't affect my life forever and ill be able to recover,❤

Ma'Sha'Allah good video with great advice!
Number 25 is my favorite ❤️ enjoyed this video so muchhh
hands down my favorite video on youtube
Videos like this make me depressing because my middle 20s were spent being harassed and stalked by evil and wicked neighbors. So imagine how much worse it is when your 20s are stolen from you rather than you wasting it of your own accord.
I always leave Tomiwa’s video feeling blessed❤. I turn 20 on February 22nd and unlike my previous birthdays, I have been having mixed feelings about this particular one. I always heard that life really starts at 20 and your decisions in your 20’s could make or mar you. This fear has literally made me so scared to turn 20 for the longest time. I have been watching so many videos on things to know in your 20’s and Tomiwa being a God sent uploaded a video at the right time and I somehow feel relieved especially after seeing how she addressed some of my fears.
Thank you so much Tomiwa. Remain blessed in every way❤
Happy birthday in advance ❤
I am also turning 23 on 21st February and I’m still figuring things out but I trust in God’s plans for me😊
