Being in a haram relationship was the worst thing I could do for myself. I became such a bitter depressed person after and my relationship with Allah suffered as well as my grades. I’m now in my 30s not married still. Always remember ladies, YOU ARE SINGLE TILL YOURE MARRIED

Just remember that whenever a blessings seems like it is delayed, it is for our own good! A lot of times, when we receive what we ask for too early, we end up ruining our chances of keeping it due to not being prepared. Think of it like taking a cake out of the oven too soon. You will more than likely end up sick eating a cake that isn't ready as opposed to waiting for it to cook all the way through before consuming it... I hope this makes sense. The main idea is that Allah's timing is the best! And He will absolutely never leave you ❤

And I definitely relate to what you said about praying & not truly understanding what we’re saying (especially for non Arabic speakers) we get caught in the ritual & completely forget that we have to be sincere when talking to Allah.

Something that helps me and like helping myself to stay away from haram things such as drinking is to think that everything that is haram,Allah made haram for a reason. For example, drinking is haram because alcohol can call u to act reckless and do/ make bad decisions and can harm you and other people too. I’ve came across so many times where I could Easily do something haram and get away it hit but I stopped myself because I always think that how would that haram action affect my life and my after life. I’m still struggling with praying 5 times a day but we’re all in this together.also I understand how when your in collage majority of kids drink, smoke , and do lot of haram and even illegal things. The best thing is to find good friends who don’t go to parties and drink and all that stuff. You need a good influence on yourself .I wish you the best of luck.

Oh, Tomiwa, this is beautiful. As someone who found faith as a teenager, fell off, and then made sincere intentions to G-d at 20, so much of this is relatable. Although I converted to my faith (I am Jewish!), I felt so so much of this story. G-d really listens and knows our path better than we do. And oh, is G-d good to us. Your bit about prayer has inspired me so much! I am so proud that you were able to keep your salah even in the darkest of times. I feel it really shows your intentions and that you were always meant to be the amazing Muslim we see before us today. I have so much respect for you and my Muslim siblings. I pray that we all, no matter what our faith is, continue to find the goodness and graciousness of G-d and grow closer to our divine connections. Also, thank you for sharing the charities for P@lest!ne in your description. May we see the liberation of all oppressed people in our lifetimes. Ameen!

Tomiwa! You literally just narrated my life story, Subhanallah! Especially the heartbreak part. Just like you,I quickly realised how and why Allah made the things that are haram, haram because that relationship EMOTIONALLY DRAINED me. Allah loves me, He loves US and that’s why he let our hearts shattered so much so that He can rebuild it for us.I was depressed. I tried therapy, yoga and every other wellness program to ease my heart but NOTHING worked. Wallahi, God is good because once I decided to let go of all other options, turned to Him, cried my heart out in every sujood during salah, made him the core of my existence, EVERYTHING transformed for the better in my life. Allah does listen and He sure runs towards us once we take few steps towards Him.

I love this video so much Tomiwa. Honestly, I can relate to everything. I'm also from a Muslim home but I wasn't raised to wear the hijab all the time and I also attended a very religious Pentecostal Christian school and everyone was so similar. I felt like an outcast. I kept wishing I was born to a Christian home because I felt like my life would be normal. Also, most Nigerians have this perception of how Nigerian Muslims look and I guess I didn't fit their stereotype so people were always shocked and they would squeeze or frown their face in a weird way. So yeah, I started to pretend and hide my religion but then I became confused and lost and I was like “this isn't me”. I'm currently in university and I'm grateful for it because here you get to be your authentic self and there is a place of worship for all religions in Nigeria and I feel like not a lot of private universities in Nigeria embrace that. I'm now being my true self and currently trying to build my deen. You inspire me so so much Tomiwa and your highschool picture was beautiful 🤩. You look stunning in the hijab. It suits you so well 🫶. Thanks for this video ❤️. May the Almighty Allah bless you and your loved ones. Amin! ❤

You seem so at peace with your decision to actually pursue a meaningful relationship with him and that’s so happy to see. Although I’m a Christian, this video still resonated with me because I recently started taking my relationship with God more seriously starting last year too! I loved what you said about God having to break you down from everything that you know in order to really build you up with the things he wants for you. Tomiwa, I have been watching your channel since you started it. I love your videos and am so proud of you for your growth. Thank you for being so vulnerable, this is truly inspiring. I wanted to let you know that I remember earlier this year you spoke about tahajjud and I got inspired by you and started praying Tahajjud too and it has been such an amazing experience, literally life changing. I am so thankful to you for that because it has literally helped me so much. May Allah bless you sister with all that is good for you in the dunya and the akhira with jannah and I am so happy for your healing and how you are in a better place than before. I am so happy for you sis, alhamdullilah for all of the growth. Love you ♥

Sis! Your comment brought literal tears to my eyes. I'm so happy that you were able to not only start praying tahajjud but to also see the beauty in it. May Allah keep us on the straight path and bless us with all of our hearts desires! Ameen ❤

I rarely comment but this encouraged me so so much. Going through heartbreak is hard but knowing that Allah exists and He is one dua away makes everything easier. Also, I have to remind myself that when you love something or anything more than you love Allah it’s going to hurt you, only you are safe with Allah 💯

"I'm just a girl and i need help outside of me" resonates with me so much because i literally can't let anything go and want to control everything. I find in order to believe to let God be in control i had to relearn how to lose control

Allahuma barik ❤, let me share a this harith.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah says: 'I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.' "

as a Muslim born can definitely relate to a lot of what you said didn't wear hijab until i moved to the US in junior year and opposite to you i join MSA and the teacher ended up being the one who convinced me to wear the hijab and even gave me my first set of hijabs and that was my anchor cause on the other side i was struggling with salat. college was a challenge but i knew i will get through it with all the setbacks because God just always came through at the best possible time and working on modesty and my salat is the goal now been intention with my time and prayer and prioritizing that over anything else is the goal and remember it's a marathon not a sprint it's all about improving in the journey at your own pace while been accountable and forgiving as well. may Allah make Islam easy for us.

As salaam walikum sis and I feel like most of us growing up Muslim had to find our way to Islam on our own and I love that you held onto your prayers mashallah I fell off for years after moving out my mother house but eventually came back to Allah mashallah and now striving to be a better muslim and you know it's not always easy the religion is perfect we're not so we can't be hard on ourselves especially if we came along way but we got this Inshallah 🥰 and Allah will literally put test in our way that we have NO CHOICE but to turn to him SubhanAllah! and listennnn one thing imma do is talk to my lorddd about the biggest and smallest things 😭And I loveee your content baby keep it up !!!!!

Thank you so much for being forthcoming about your haram relationship. It’s hard to find the line between not exposing your sins and being honest to inspire others. I ended my relationship this year because everytime I would stand before Allah, I would feel so guilty. After months of pain, I’m finally over it.

This video gave me so much comfort!♥️ I am currently finding my way to Islam and reverting to the religion. I also gave up a haram relationship with a man who practices the Islam to bring us both closer to the religion and if it‘s Allahs will also to bring us back together in a helal marriage. And my main focus is to heal from the past and to find my connection to Allah and embracing Islam in my daily life. I am just struggeling to tell my family what path I‘m currently in, I am from a Christian household and from a different cultural backround. I still know that I can talk to my family and trust them, but something is holding me back to reveal my decision. I pray to Allah that he will take away my worries and doubts!

Its really important as a Muslim to find Islam again, the feeling is so beautiful intentionally about everything because you solely relying on Allah SWT. May Allah continue to forgive our sins. We all would never be a perfect but knowing Allah is Most forgiving and compassionate is all we need.

When you said “God listens”, that there got me emotional. He truly listens and He always wants the best for us in both worlds, otherwise He wouldn’t have sent messengers upon messengers to guide us to paradise by His will! May Allah grant us the highest level of paradise, that’s the ultimate goal.
