    You should do a comparison between this and the X1

    First iteration was 1959 designed by iconic engineer Sir Alec Issigonis with transverse engine. He was a genius. I remember the sliding windows and pull chord to open the door. Cheap transport. Now it is a much more sophisticated vehicle. Price in 1959 under $800. Nice review Ben. 😊

    Someone said the new mini looks like a the chinese cars that are trying to rip off mini. Just not good when the original looks like an imitation.

    The key fob looks better than the actual vehicle

    Asking for a friend who is shopping which would be better this mini countryman s or a fully loaded Mazda CX five carbon turbo ?

      I test drove the Cx-5 turbo, before I settled on the Countryman S. Both are good cars. It’s totally subjective and depends on your specific needs, but I love the new MINI styling, driving experience and interior and the tech is miles ahead in the Countryman compared to the CX-5 which I feel is showing its age, although it has aged gracefully.

      @@angusmacdonald5300 I know the Mazda is probably more reliable long-term, but how about performance wise like since they’re both supposed to be kind of sporty so is the mini significantly better driving since the CX-5 turbo seems like you can get a little bit better price from the ones that I’ve seen than the mini since my friend likes to drive kind of aggressively and they like a sporty feel with good acceleration and handling? oh also doesn’t the mini require premium fuel where the CX 5 it’s optional from what I have seen?

      @@crushbaseball4270yes mini’s require premium gas. But if it doesn’t bother you to spend a bit more for gas then I think it’s worth it. I loved my Mini Cooper. I was iffy on the premium gas. But I had friends who did regular and ended up with knocking a while later.

    Mini took the fun out of the Minis with the new interior.. The previous model interior was fun, you felt like you were in an airplane with all the toggle switches and knobs..etc.. This is very plain and minimalistic, corporate boring? We currently own a 2024 model and absolutely love it.. We'll hold on to it until the re-redesign in 2029 or something. Great review otherwise.

    Wow… what happened to this guy? Please tell us you are just preparing for a lead role in the new “Cast away 2” movie… (sorry, hard to take you seriously with that new look)

    You no longer can get HomeLink. You no longer have an easy way to shut off the auto start/stop. Still stuck with the huge and (to me) useless moonroof. Also, all the black plastic exterior bits remain. Plastic. Like to see some bright metal trim in place of.

      @@jkandybar It's in the screen...a couple of menus deep. Not convenient to get to.

      @@ksorsomeplace crazy, hopefully they'll do a software update and put it on the home screen close to the driver. I know Subaru recently did that after consumer complaints.

      @ksorsomeplace 9 дней назад

      @@jkandybar I did notice that the menu stayed where you left off from the last use. So, if you do not change the screen, you'll be able to get to it easily. But, it is still a nuisance.

    I have always liked the looks and proportions of the Mini except that round dial in the middle. I wish there was an option to have a rectangular panel and a small display behind the wheel similar to what new EVs are getting. I understand it is tradition, but it is the main detractor from getting one for me.
