    Dr. A!
A little enthusiasm... I like how Dr.A and Dr. Dirr have such similar enthusiasm about their different families of plants. No wonder a few generations of gardeners so respect their opinions....myself included

Dr Armitage you really inspire with your attitude of gardening. The squirrels destroyed part of my house, car and garden last year. I love how you figured out a way to protect your tomatoes. Im a bit traumatized after last year and every time I see one I tense up lol
I always love to see your videos and I’m on my way to get your book. I’ve always wondered why these common names were so funny. I should have known that you would know! lol I wish you and your family well. The garden is looking beautiful as always.

The longest blooming perennial I've got is an Asteromia previously Kalimeris. Hard to find anymore, it's not flashy but it's steady. I wish there was more variety in the industry, seems growers aren't willing to try anything different. I'm working with the High school agriculture teacher in Dawson county on some adult education classes in their new building. Just had our first class on perennials but it's hard to just talk about one type of plants! Mixed plantings are just more fun 😊
Thanks Dr A, Jim & Steph
Btw, my native tall Phlox is reblooming this week just as the Calico Aster & perennial Mums are kicking off. I've got a "too steep to mow" bank at the dirt road. Between moving stuff & spreading seeds, it's really looking good in 3 years. Every type of Aster & plenty of DYCs (damn yellow composites) , the thin leaf Sunflower are just glorious even after some early season pruning by the deer. Got a big rambunctious difficult area? See what grows without help! Grow natives!

My fall asters bloomed in summer. I was really hoping they would start taking off as the echinacea begin fading. Oh well, they were beautiful while they lasted. I do have some of that purple celosia. This is the second year I planted some of those in September. They are nice fall annuals along side orangeish coleus.
