I've seen cooks make refrigerature jam from figs. Some add a strawberry flavoring. Both are good. Pick your figs when they just start to ripen or the squirrels will get them! Let the figs ripen on the counter. I planted my fall tomatoes last weekend after putting up shade shade cloth.😊❤
I understand what you mean about the tomatoes slowing down. I had one in a pot and when it got to the point where it looked sad, I just moved the pot into the partial shade and it seems to be doing much better.
San Antonio gardener here. Figs are going crazy. Wait until they are slightly soft before you pick them. I quarter mine and put them in the dehydrator. Add nothing to them and they are a sweet snack during the day time. Great job on your garden!
New sub, just found your channel. I’m in Kirby, Tx. I’ll be binge watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Hope you enjoy the videos.
Congrats on the squash! Cant keep the vine borers off of mine
Thanks. They got most of my other squash.

Thanks for all the tips. I’ll try that out and let everyone know how it goes.

Same here. Hopefully they bounce back when things cool down.

San Antonio TX. I guessed correctly, “Avocado”. 👍
Good guess. Thank you for the comment.
Nice video. My mom used to substitute fig in any recipes that called for dates -- date bars, filled oatmeal cookies, etc. Delicious.
Thanks for the tips. I’ll look into that.
Thanks for sharing your learnings! Do you have drip irrigation and how did you install?
Thank you for watching. I don’t have drip irrigation. I have a standard underground sprinkler system that came with the house.
