    Here are a few items I used in my video. *** UPDATE:*** Full disclosure: Shortly after posting this video, I applied to Amazon for an affiliate account. If you wish to purchase any of the Amazon items I used in this post, please consider using my link. I should receive a small commission - at no additional cost to you. Please do be aware, however, that at the time I published the video, and well before that, I was using the recommended products simply because I LIKE them! To get a direct link to the three items below, see my "blog post for this video" link below. THANK YOU!
    Fiskars 10-Inch Amplify Mixed Media Shears; Model 171020-1001. I ordered these from Amazon in June 2019, and they are AMAZING! I have used them to cut chipboard, cardboard, foam board, hard-shell plastic packaging, fabric, cardstock, magnetic sheets, and more! They stay sharp and do a fabulous job.
    Marietta Magnetics 8.5 x 11 Plain Magnet Sheets 30 mil - 10 Pack. I have ordered these twice through Amazon.
    Chipboard - 8.5" x 11" 22 pt (100 Sheets) - 100% Recycled - Made in USA. Again, I ordered through Amazon, but you may be able to find any of these items elsewhere. I use a lot of chipboard for shipping, so I ordered the 100-pack. The product store has all sizes and thicknesses.

    So many excellent organization tips in addition to the cost saving idea for organizing your dies. Great idea to use the leftover magnetic sheets on a piece of chipboard.

    By the way, I have friends who have magnetic signs. Some are political some are advertisements. Nonetheless they are GREAT to use. Our phone book had a magnet that was an advertisement for a law firm. Every chance I got I collected them. Often sign makers will have flawed magnetic signs they will let go of cheap, or if you’re lucky they give them away. Free is in my budget! 😉

    Hi Karen, I just found your channel through this video. I was quite surprised when you gave your name, my mother’s maiden name was Summy (spelled a little differently than yours) and I have a cousin Karen who was also a Summy! Small world I guess. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and I have subscribed. Thanks for the information.

    Hi Karen. I just stumbled onto your video, stayed, watched and have become your newest subscriber. I have been working on trying to organize my Stampinup stamps and dies. So far I have been using just the magnet sheets inside the matching Stamp case but they are very flimsy without the cardboard to back them. Thanks so much for this very helpful and cost effective method. 😊🇨🇦

    I agree with you about the dies coming off the sheet. I'm afraid sometimes they will bend

    • @KarensBlueRidgeStamping
      @KarensBlueRidgeStamping  Год назад +1

      That’s always my fear. Also, smaller dies are really difficult to release at times. The magnetic storage saves time and stress.

    To remove SU dies from their taped backing paper, use a handheld hairdryer on the back of the backing paper to warm the tape and remove the dies. This will avoid bending the die without bending it. SU uses really strong tape to attach dies to paper backing. I have used this method for several years.

    I always put the magnetic sheets and dies in with the stamps because sometimes the dies have a different title.

      I have heard that many people do the same. Good news, though! Stampin' Up! has responded to customer (and demonstrator) feedback and is now naming dies and stamps the same! Love it!

      @@KarensBlueRidgeStamping you can also buy magnet squares sheets at walmart that are 2 inches longer (8x6") in a 2 pack. They work great and have adhesive backing.

      I get them at a big box home improvement store in the furnace filter aisle. Three 8x15 in sheets for $7. If I get 2 packs, I can make 9 stiff pages that are 8 x 10 inches, that slip nicely into a protective page pocket sleeve, that then goes into a heavy duty binder.
      I make the magnet sheets stiff by cutting to 8 x 10 inches, adhering chioboard with double sided tape to back of magnet sheets. I use frozen pizza boxes, larger cereal boxes, slightly dinged Christmas boxes). I've been making my stiff sheets one sided, but I'm considering putting magnet sheet on both sides. I haven't had any trouble with my dies coming off when I adhere cardboard on the backs of them.

    Why not skip a step and glue the magnetic sheet right to the original cardboard? I would add additional glue around the edges. There is less waste and they are already cut to size. They may not be quite as sturdy as the chipboard but the manufacturer trusts that cardboard to get your dies to you undamaged.

    • @KarensBlueRidgeStamping
      @KarensBlueRidgeStamping  Год назад

      A good option. I would turn the original tape side to the magnetic sheet to keep it from interfering.
