Just saw this, and it's awesome! I like the uniformity, it makes everything easier to see. Also, it looks neater. I use the original insert that the stamp or die came with , saves me labeling time. Do use inserts, makes it look neater also. Thanks for the categorization idea, always have trouble with this part, LOL.
Nichol, I have bought so many files & cutters, and never been pleased with any of them. After watching your video, I ordered the E.C. ones you showed & LOVE THEM !!! They work so well, the files are small & not too toothy, and the clippers get good & close. Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks Nichol for the inspiration! I've followed your lead and organized my stamps and dies using the SSS clear envelopes and white cardstock inserts, and used the adhesive backed magnetic sheets from Oriental Trading (cut down each sheet to 2 inserts) directly on the inserts for stamp/die sets. I just ordered the DVD dividers that you recommended, so I'm excited to receive them to complete my organization. I've also labeled similar, so my need for a uniform look is met. :-)
OMG THANK YOU!!!!!! I bought the magnet panels and had NO IDEA there was a right and wrong side!!!!!! I can quit throwing a fit now over sliding dies!!!!!! I am like you with uniformity! I run my cardstock through a laminator (high mil) for my own dividers!
Nichol, thanks for the detailed way to store dies. Even though it's been a couple years since your initial post, I found all the items still available.
I’ve had to go the cheaper route to begin with by using magnetic vent covers from Home Depot, but would love to use this method as these magnetic sheets look much thinker than the vent covers, which is an issue at times. Thank you so much for sharing the products you use!! 🤓👍🏼
Thank you so much for this! My stamps and dies are so unorganized! Sometimes I misplace one and it will drive me crazy looking for it! This system would work beautifully! 😊
Awesome demo, thank you so much. Although, I have never even heard of stamping till now. The tip would also work with my 6000 plus sewing/quilting/craft patterns. Again, thank you for the information.
Great video. Those little sharp edges on the dies can stab your fingers and it hurts. One fell on the floor for me and I caught my toe on one edge with an edge on it and my toe got inflamed so be very careful and cut them off for sure. Thanks for your video.
This video was so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to make this and give us the product names - I am excited to get my craft room more organized with your storage tips. :-)
I use the magnetic vent covers. I have found that gluing them onto something, to make them firmer, keeps the dies on better. If they are too flexible, and they bend when you put the magnet out of the pocket, the dies slip off sometimes. I have some of those cardboard inserts that are used to keep a comic book flat in its plastic protector. I am going to try those. I love the idea of the DVD case dividers!! Do you keep an online inventory of your stamps? I am too overwhelmed to do that. lol
I love this storage solution! What size dividers did you order from A to Z? Were they a custom size? Are they white on both sides? Thanks for sharing the info!
I used to add magnets to every die set I purchased, then my storage boxes started to get too heavy. Now, I only add magnets to sets when I use them... yes, I've actually purchased dies I haven't used yet...lol. Also, instead of using a label maker to create labels for all my sets, I just use avery file folder labels and the template in word (downloadable). I type so much faster on my computer than I do on the label maker. When you have a large haul, it was taking me hours just to organize. This allows more time for actual crafting. Next, I wanted to recommend the 6" x 6" DVD/cd pockets they have on amazon for your background stamps. They're not the same quality you get with the avery elle pockets, but I bet they're much more sturdy than the ones you're using now. Anyways, just some of my storage tips, if anyone is interested.
Great video. Can you tell me how many stamp pockets you can get in the double fridge bin that you use? I'm wondering if I need to order more than one. Thanks!
I can get 85-90 pockets per side (so 170-180 per double sided bin). Keep in mind some of mine have coordinating dies with them (which take up more room), some do not and that isn't counting dividers. This amount still allows for a bit of room to flip through them stamps easily. If you don't care about that you could probably fit a few more per side. :) HTH!
Nichol i know i asked you this before but I can’t find your answer, so I’m very sorry. What size font do you use on your labels, what size of plastic containers do you use for your ikea billy book case, how many containers do you have per shelf and do you use all the same plastic sleeves and magnetic pieces for each company?
How do you store larger stamp sets, like the hero arts brush strokes/stamp your story sets, or sets that are 8" tall? Thanks for the link on the dividers!!
Hi Nichol, I have a quick question, can you please suggest the best manufactures that can create custom dies for paper designs. I have several designs I created and wanted dies made of them, thank you. Oh by the way I love your channel so I subscribed, yay!😁
This was a great video with great tips. How do you store your paper doll stamps? I'm trying to find a solution for those. I was thinking the large Ellen Hutson, but they're thicker cling stamps so...what do you think?
I stored them in the same folders even though they stuck out the top because they're taller but if I still had them I would have switched them to the taller clear storage pockets from Ellen Hutson.
Great tutorial, question, which sleeve do you prefer, and which one did you use in the video, sorry for asking, but you flashed them so fast and you were confusing to me in regards to this and your list has too many options, which is a good thing, but, I found your video that is very detailed, leaving those details out, you said you use the longer sleeve, but did not specify brand as well on your larger stamps, no specifics for sleeve either, Thank you for answer and again great video
Great video - quick comment though; the company that sells the dividers charges $11.00 just to ship. Any other ideas you might suggest would be great if you know of anything else. Thanks again.
I think Jennifer McGuire buys the heavy plastic file folders from Walmart and just cuts them to size, while rounding the edges. But it's hard to find those items and if you do, you're lucky to get enough in a single color, if that matters to you.
Can someone pretty please tell me what die set it was when she featured the tall, skinny tags with the tiny bow, star, etc. It was shown when she was talking about how tricky it is to cut the dies without the wire cutters.
Thank you!! I feel like such an idiot, I used the Stampendous system and now I want to change it. The only issue is now I don't have the clear sheets so it's hard to figure out what sets things are. Also, it doesn't look as good when it's in the pocket to have everything be clear. I'm beating myself up over the fact that I now can't come up with a system that will look good! :-(
I've been wanting to organize my dies in this way for quite some time. But are there larger magnetic sheets available? The one listed measures 4-3/4 x 5-3/4. That seems small to me, especially for brands like Lawn Fawn where there r so many dies or MFT blueprints... What do u think? Thx!
Can you tell me about how many white dividers you used in all. I would like to have them, but dont want to under order. Better to have to many than not enough. Can you give me some idea total. I know everyone would be different, but just some idea. Thank you so much
Upon further research, I see EH has medium sized magnetic sheets (4 3/4 by 7 3/4) however the plastic storage bags measure 5 1/2 by 7 1/4 so the medium sized mag sheets won't fit....
I use the smaller size in the standard envelopes. They aren't the same size as the envelopes but that doesn't bother me. The larger magnetic sheets from Ellen Hutson fit their larger storage envelopes and I use those if I have a large die set.
Hello, if you have a chance, I'd love an update video of your studio, since you've made changes to your storage solutions. I think it would be fun and inspirational to your subscribers.
This video is 6 years old so unfortunately some products are no longer available. I recently switched to a new divider system that I will be sharing soon. I am currently using: Rainbow Regular Dividers: thestampmarket.com/product/stick-n-store-stamp-storage-dividers-rainbow/ref/7/ Rainbow XL Dividers: thestampmarket.com/product/stick-n-store-stamp-storage-dividers-xl-rainbow/ref/7/ There's also white dividers: White Regular Dividers: thestampmarket.com/product/stick-n-store-stamp-storage/ref/7/ White XL Dividers: thestampmarket.com/product/stick-n-store-stamp-storage-xl/ref/7/
Hi Nichol, where do I get the magnetic pads. I am new at this craft, have loads of rubber stamps but have only one small set with kittens, have a very limited budget. Am a sewer, had ceramic studio in New Jersey, (can not find anyone interested in Florida, also taught porcelain doll making, have now brought all the scrapbooking supplies that I have and bought a Big Job, I think that is what it is called. Been watching RUclips, which I am getting bleary eyes. Could really use help getting started again. I also bought a GAZELL Boss Kit. Went to convention in 2009, but was not able to play with it, had very such husband then. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

What a GREAT idea! I never thought of laminating and making my own! Love that!
Thanks for showing the right and wrong side of the magnetic sheets... it helps me understand mixed reviews about them.
Nichol, thanks for the detailed way to store dies. Even though it's been a couple years since your initial post, I found all the items still available.
This was a great video, thank you for all the tips. I just subscribed! So excited.

I have been using the wire cutters, like you have, for years, for my jewelry making. They are awesome for many crafts.
So organized! Can you come over? Just kidding but I’m going to have to add a room on for all the stamps dies and all supplies!!🤷🏽♀️
ha!
Lots of good info. Would love to redo all mine but the cost and work stops me. They look great!
Great video. Those little sharp edges on the dies can stab your fingers and it hurts. One fell on the floor for me and I caught my toe on one edge with an edge on it and my toe got inflamed so be very careful and cut them off for sure. Thanks for your video.
Hi Nichol! Thank you for sharing your storage solutions. I appreciate any tips that you can give. Take care, Kim :)

Hi, any tips on the slimline storage. If you have time. Thanks for the video. It helps.
Will do. I store them in larger pockets. I need to do an updated video! It's on my list!
Thank you for sharing your videos
Thank you for sharing. I use this storage system. I just ordered the dividers I have been looking for something to use.
Hi Doreen! Could you tell me what exactly your ordered for the dividers? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi Robyn,
Go to Nichol's blog she has a link to the dividers in the post.
Doreen Lesniak Robyn G Here's the link: 5.5" x 8.5" DVD Dividers -- goo.gl/rPBpRm
Sorry about that!

I was wondering....you have so many stamp and die sets, do you keep a some kind of reference binder/catalog of all the sets that you have?
Hi, this may seem silly but can you give directions on how to make the labels without having to print and cut between each one? YOU ROCK.
I've been wanting to organize my dies in this way for quite some time. But are there larger magnetic sheets available? The one listed measures 4-3/4 x 5-3/4. That seems small to me, especially for brands like Lawn Fawn where there r so many dies or MFT blueprints... What do u think? Thx!
Hi Nichol. I don’t know why but I have tried all the links without success in anyone. Tks for the video.
I do not glue the magnetic sheet because you have to pull the white sheet out to get a die and it will get beat up after awhile.
ahh haa hubby has those little files for sharpening his blade on his chain saw I will be borrowing them lol.
Can you tell me about how many white dividers you used in all. I would like to have them, but dont want to under order. Better to have to many than not enough. Can you give me some idea total. I know everyone would be different, but just some idea. Thank you so much
Hello I was wondering why in the video you have the larger magnetic die storage and in your link it goes straight to the small ones?
Upon further research, I see EH has medium sized magnetic sheets (4 3/4 by 7 3/4) however the plastic storage bags measure 5 1/2 by 7 1/4 so the medium sized mag sheets won't fit....
I use the smaller size in the standard envelopes. They aren't the same size as the envelopes but that doesn't bother me. The larger magnetic sheets from Ellen Hutson fit their larger storage envelopes and I use those if I have a large die set.
Hi Nichol, are you still using this system? If not, what have you changed over to using?
Hi Nichol, What was the website for the dividers? I might be looking right at it. hahaha...been a rough week.
Me too - I cannot seem to find the website for the dividers. Thanks!
Carolyn Zook Hmm......I don't see the link either!
Sorry about that! I missed adding that link. Here it is: 5.5" x 8.5" DVD Dividers -- goo.gl/rPBpRm
