This is the kind of song you don’t get a real perspective on until you’re probably in your 50’s and experienced some LIFE. Then it will send the shivers right down your spine when you reflect. The angelic harmonies added by Charlie Allen Martin really make this song perfection.
My mother use to slow dance with me in the livingroom when I was 4-5, Well yesterday I gave her away at her wedding, and she had this song as our dance.
This album was my introduction to Bob Seger in 1976. He's one of the all time greatest live bands in our history. He's still rocking us in his 70's and doing it well. Thank you Bob for getting me thru life, you've been there for all the bad times and the greatest of times. You definitely know how to sooth our souls with the best lyrics and soulful funky rock n roll.
50 years later...... this song still makes me so sad. The subject matter itself...and simply the loss of youthful, silly innocence that we have all suffered.
Would like to say ... Bob Seger! You are The definition of greatness, bro! And yes, by far, the best album ever! And being "live" , Shit ! To be able to produce an album like live bullet, Flawless as it is, literally, a Perfect album; you could only be the kid from Ann arbor, who was just making his local rounds playing like the "Crazy Horse Saloon" in Kalamazoo, Michigan and coming up from a young, eager, passionate starting musician to belonging in the "One of a kind" caliber like Sir Paul McCartney! And everybody knows that's as Good as it gets!! Seger's music has shaped my entire 40 years of life!! Thank God! for Bob Seger!!! You are the best!
Song for Jodi Paup. I served with her brother in the Marines they were from Detroit and she dated Seger after he graduated and she was still in HS. Then Kathmandu hit and he headed away
Wow. I recall playing this for years. The entire concert Album, cassette. As I listen now I truly realize how deep this catch tune is. About had me choked up I could sing. Embedded in me is many of Bob's songs.
It feels like he is talking about my life since I am a Jody it sure does take me back to long ago days and memories of being young ,free and innocent life was different then .thx Bob for taking me back saw you twice in spfd mo two of the best concerts I’ve ever seen you were rocking with long hair blowin behind while you lit that concert hall on fire ! Thx I will never forget 😊😊❤❤
@Gregory Tyska I would would put these two albums together as equal best live albums.... have them both, love both. Third best, Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road...
Miss all wild wild times I had in high school. been a long time. Now I have a grandchild outside playing. My how time flies. Still think about that crazy boy every now and then. He was lost way too soon
My folks where bikers rip big Ed my mom loves Bob and she would always dance with me to this song frist good memory I had I was 8 years old yes Everytime I cry
S.P. Price , got to see Seger 3 times in concert. Not one negative thing to say about any of them. I went to many other concerts including Billy Joel ( absolutely awesome) Bad Company, Heart etc. but Seger and the Silver Bullet Band top them all!

I had just had my second baby and i was going through the usual routine and this came on the radio. I just sat down and started crying. I realized at that moment how much my life had changed and i hadn't even noticed. Can't get enough of this man. He has sang the soundtrack to my life.
We said goodbye to my sister Jodi today, and this song was one that was played, along with Ozzy's Crazy train. We all wore tie dyed shirts at her request.

I'm so sad......We just lost our Jodi Girl June 22, 2010. Taken away from all far too soon, only 47. Leaves behind two fantastic beautiful young women. The Good Lord took a Diamond this time. We miss you.................
I saw him for the first time in Denver, front row, 87. It was unbelievably fantastic! I grew up on this...Most recently saw him in Nov last year in Orlando. Het still puts on the best show. Took my sister, as the family certainly influenced the musical tastes from an early age. :) Would love to see him more, just wish I was closer to where he is at. :)
Me and a high school buddy went to the mall to buy albums (circa 1976 or 77) They wrapped the albums in brown paper. I bought Live Bullet and he bought Ted Nugent "Cat Scratch Fever. He dropped me off and I grabbed the the wrong album. So.. he had been listening to Live Bullet and he wanted to trade albums. I said no fckin way. Well not long after that he had the album and the 8 track. He turned his older brother on to it and every time I got around those two I was hearing Live Bullet. Awesome memories
Man takes me back home to southern Indiana...cruising back roads with the bros, 75 Challenger screaming towards some the lake...chilling witht he girls, just having fun, not worrying about a damn thing except the next party.....good times to be cherished!

Some things fade but if we look carefully, other things come into clarity. I'm old now and frankly, just starting to shed some of life's scars. I'm ready to see clearer, with experience hard learned and make it the best time ever. While listening to Bob Seger and all the other stellar artists of my day.

luv this song and usually happens life starts out awesome then fades as you go

Parabens. Der Klinik, den verfolgenden Beamten und dem Geheimdienst.
This is definitely a Van Morrison influenced song. Sounds like something from Astral Weeks. Those two together on stage would have been beautiful.
I think the word is epic
On this same album he also does a version of I've Been Working by " one of my main men - Van Morrison"
For another "Van Morrison" song try Down To Zero by Joan Armatrading
Apparently Van is bitter that various people including Bob Seger have ripped off his style
I agree.❣️
i saw him back in the 80 and it was the best i had ever seen steel today nothing beater
Best Bobby song....feel like a number is 2.....betty Lou's getting out tonight is 3
This song is me because I married to young! I married at 23 years old! My youth is GONE and I think it's sad because my husband doesn't have that look in his eyes ANYMORE!

Best song ever!!!
It is his best! I have been waiting for someone to add 4 ever!!! Thamks!!
The silver bullet BAND.. had a tight set, that night.. Real tight....
Seger's Jody Girl just needed a good man!
chris shirley this Jody girl had a good man but now I'm older and he's passed on so the song means more to me now than it did when I was a young girl
Oh yeah!!! The real shit.. Bob in his prime!!
My heart goes out to you and my prayers are with you and your family.
I've been playing DJ for about the past 20 minutes is that okay with y'all
