Amirul Menjeni You don't have to do anything. Hence it being called AFK. Wanna make money, set your character to fish, want to level up strength set two points on a map and let your character automatically move between those points. To lazy to walk to the next quest objective? Set the marker on your map and let your character/mount do the journey for you. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying its a bad game, but it is an AFK simulator more than an MMO.

+MACKEM_uk I bought Grim Dawn. While I fucking _love_ not having to lift my left click to choose a new target, every time I look at classes all I can think is "which of these is the least boring". I don't have a clue what Ashes of the Singularity is, but I'm sure it's more deserving of number 10 than Grim Dawn.
+Shelton Burnadeski Grim Dawn dose just about everything right, story, gameplay, graphics. Ashes has issues, with glitches, some low production value here and there and a all around lackluster story, plus it dose not try in anyway to be different from most other RTS games. Grim dawn tries to be its own thing, which it achieves decently enough, enough so that it is considered by most to stand with the greats such as Diablo 2, Titan quest and Path of exile. I would give Grim dawn a 9 out of 10 and Ashes a 7 out of 10. Ashes is quite good, but not good enough to be on this list in my opinion.

Ah well, i think it is quite hard to say, this game is better then the other one.
I dont think you can compare GD/TQ with Diablo (3).
We don't have to argue about the Story, GD is quite a bit ahead there but about gameplay?
Pretty much feels like "what do you want from the game".
Blizzard titles seems to be all about the rush to the endgame nowadays, leaving the leveling and growth progress out as much as they can, speeding it up in 20 ways...
Grim Dawn feels a bit slower (gameplay wise) and that reflects to the leveling progression too, thats what i like about and of course, you can experiment so much more with the classes and stuff.
In case of gd/d3 its like to pick progression vs endgame in a way.
In terms of fun... I think you can't compare it to a game like XCOM, but on the other hand, (at least for me) GD got a higher replay potential, cos it feels like XCOM tends to send you the same missions more or less (same maps and objectives) each playthrough.
Just love my Petarmy in GD ;)

wow that was like the most average 10 games in 2016 and definitely not the best games
1 title says best games so far which would mean all nnon fully released games would not be included such as betas and alphas
2 if you're a proper game critic you should be open to all game genres not just stick to fps and mobas and not give a damn about strategy and farming simulation games
3 a good game doesnt always mean that everyone in the world would love to play it some people just have different prefered game genres which would bring us again to number 2

All those games are really good and well made.
If you think that your taste in videogames is the definition of a game being good, means you are thinking small and selfish.
For example, I don't like Rise of the Tomb Raider because I was never much for action driven games, that doesn't mean that it's a bad game in anyway, it is actually a really good sequel to the previous game and I recognize the motives for it being on this list.
I also don't like Farcry Primal for example because for me it's like playing farcry 3 all over as it plays the same in many ways, but obviously I admire the game for having it's own particularities that brings it's own identity. I completely understand how someone new to the Farcry series or at least isn't tired of that kind of questing would completely love this game.
All that said, with Steam and other platforms many more people can give life to their ideas, therefore turning them into reality and sharing it with the world. So small Indie developers will be able to make games with fascinating stories and gameplay even with low budget. Also sometimes the games that most touch people's feelings are those nostalgic ones that resemble old games, for normally all the kids from the 90's thatt used to play videogames are adults today, and still love to play them.
Now if a game is to your liking or not varies from person to person, it's a point of perpective and taste, nothing can change the fact that a game is good or bad, well made or not. And you are also free to not enjoy the game, doesn't make it bad.
I wouldn't say triggered, but I thought this should be said. I hope you took something from my "essay" tho. If not, well I don't judge you.

+CL1CKS Some people prefer story/substance to graphics/game design/combat. XCOM has some really top of the line story, a really cool turn based combat system, superior level design, and an all around great community behind it.
We haven't seen an MMO hit graphically, combat, quests (that aren't just grind for your levels/end game content), PvP, PvM, and gear yet. Ironically (until the game was ruined by greedy devs) it looks like Runescape was the closest to nailing that, but they were always held back by Java, and new graphic/combat reworks killed the vibe of the game quite a bit. BDO is overrated in my opinion though, and in 2 years when people have gotten tired of it they'll move on to the next MMO just like what happened with GW2. Oh well.
Are you serious? BDO has insane amount of lore, story, as well as immersion. GW2 is still very popular and thriving. I respect that this is your opinion but it is in fact just that. An opinion. Also BDO level design? The game is insanely huge with an amazing world so we will say equal there at best if you really want to try to compare the 2 on that aspect. Most MMOs that I play, I play for around 3-5 years. And I will do the same for BDO. I highly doubt the re playability of XCOM will keep people repeatedly playing it for years every time they log on to their computer. Might come back to it now and then but there is no way someone is literally finishing it and starting right over playing almost no other games for years and years. K thanks.

If you buy a pc for gaming then you better not buy a Hp, Dell or any of those trademarks. I recommend you to build it yourself or buy a pre-built gaming pc because you can upgrade their components easily . Hp and Dell are made for companies not for gaming.

Unfortunately, my gpu wasn't up for the task and I didn't get to play dark souls 3. So I don't know how good it was. But if it is better than the last one ( which most people think it is) even its offline mode should be at least number 10!

DD Dark Arisen is cool. They still haven't fixed how talkative the pawns can be though. Really now, I was so fed up with them, I threw most of them off the nearest cliff I could find. I only kept my main pawn with me throughout my entire journey. Made the game a lot more enjoyable and challenging.

+Kuhazan Of course there are QTEs galore, and bunch of scripted scenes that mask the lack of the real challenge and any depth of gameplay. It;s basically Michael Bay stile of filling your attention with special effects, in hopes that you miss the absence of everything else. But hey, judging by most of the reactions and the success this title has, most of the gamers like to be treated like stupid kids with adhd.
