Good to know that a KA or SR will bolt up to an RB.
I have an auto RB and just want to have fun while driving not looking for power at the moment so i'll grab a Ka or Sr trans.
Thanks for the video, very helpful if i ever run into this problem where i have to take it apart.

Glad you found it helpful! All 3 transmissions are nearly identical besides the bellhousings and some minor gear ratio differences. There are also minor differences between years with fluid passages in the center plate but they all bolt up together.
Also if you’re planning manual swapping an r chassis, be aware that the rb trans rear half is about an inch or 2 shorter than the ka and sr transmissions. I have to modify the shifter lever as it’s right at the edge of the chassis opening.

Just so you are aware. The KA transmission is longer than the rb20 transmission. You will need a new driveshaft transmission mounts and may even need to cut your car up because the shifter will sit about 2 inches further back. I’m going through this process right now. Not as easy as just swapping bell housing unfortunately

      @@crazeeim good looks,
I have a spare sr trans. But I'm thinking about going with a cd009 for the 6 speed.
Do I need it nope, but where I live cd009s are cheaper than Ka/Sr trans.
So it makes more sense to go with that.
