Great video. The problem with this car is that the rear demping is to high and that's the reason of tumbling over every time. I have lowered the rear suspension with a have inch. The truck is much more stable now.
Go to 2:50, then put your speed at 25, you'll notice that the back shockes are going down as you're going up, and springing up as you are at the top, this brings the truck into a nose dive, try getting new oil filed shocks, this should help solve the problem! 😉
Good to meet you as well. Ipswich is the park. Google Map "Indian River Park". They'll give you the Rokeby St. entrance, but don't use that one. Follow Rokeby around the corner to Miller and turn right and go to the end. Everyone parks on the edge of the Cul de sac and you'll see the BMX trails sign and the jumps. Can't miss them.
imo after reviewing a few of these wltoys and racing roar back in 90s... i would suggest new quality shocks and a stiffer oil spring rate is ok but a higher weight oil will get rid of the pogoing
Is this upgradable as far as motor and esc? Thinkn of getting a couple of these for my kids first rc and when they get used to them upgrading to brushless if possible.
Thanks! Isn't this probally the best car for under 100$? And it's a 1/12 scale the a969 you must upgrade it too metal gears the gears are plastic and would strip out. Amy ipgrades done on this? Also this car looks much better and is bigger than the 969. I don't know until you're review comes out!
I am Mauricio from Colombia. Greetings, which car do you recommend for low cost and durable off road radio control and most of all if you get parts or spare parts what brand or what car do you recommend? What do you think of the wltoys brand like the 12428 or the 12423? I have the equipment associated with the t4.1, but the parts are scarcer because they are a discontinued model, and the parts are difficult to get locally and somewhat expensive, if we compare with the known brands associated with the traxxas lossi team, how about the wltoys,? Is 12428 the same as 12423? which is better than such the brand hosim hpx etc ... what do you recommend? Finally, how about the wltoys a969? I'm not looking to compete, I'm just looking to have fun on any road
Mauricio the 12428 is a great sand rail. Now comes with Metal Gears. I is fun for running offroad and on the street great for trail running... and some moderate crawling "lock both diffs if you want it to crawl well. It does need some upgrades for the steering, also oil filled shocks to make it better. It is not good at jumping, but you can work with it to make it better if you will mess around with the suspension. If you swap out the motor and electronics and go brushless then put in a gyro it will be REALLY good. If you want a general basher for offroad and a good Jumper that you can still mod I would go with the 12423 its a great car as well. Both cars can be found for a decent amount under 100.00 if you search. Check aliexpress.com
@@amw4736 Hey man , i know it's an old comment but i am looking to get my first RC car and i can't decide between the 12428 and the 12423 , i know they are almost the same , my main priority is durability , which one is better ?
@@darkki94 12428 and 12423 will need upgraded shocks for best performance, upgraded front steering arms from the stock plastic to metal ones that are adjustable. Without doing that the car will not run in a straight line. It will drift from left to right and be harder to control at speed. You will need to adjust the front wheels after you upgrade the steering arms to be aligned and straight. The shocks are very springy and can't be filled with oil. They work fine but if you want dampening for jumps etc..you will need to upgrade them to oil filled front and rear. The 12428/(12427 "upgraded metal gears"). is a great car. after slow motor break in you can get top speeds of about 28mph stock. To fix roll over at speed on either car you can purchase wheel hub extenders to widen the wheel base. I did that adding about 15mm at each wheel and the car will not roll at all now. The 12428 is more of a pain to work on because the roll cage is really cool and durable but there are a lot of screws to take it on and off. You can mod it though to make this easier. I think the 12423 has metal gears now..but you need to make sure. The parts are the same so you can upgrade the front and metal gear box and axle to metal gear from parts for a 12428/12427 and put them on the 12423. The 12423 is much easier to work on since you just pull the clips and take the body off. So it depends on what you want. A cool roll cage and great lights for driving at night then go for the 12428/12427...if you want something faster and easier to work on and like the short course truck go for the 12423. Here is what you should do for either. 1. plan your upgrades in one full sitting have all the parts you need before you start, you can waste a lot of time doing things one or two things at a time. 2. best first upgrades for either car to make them better are as follows: -new oil filled shocks -adjustable steering linkage upgraded to align front wheels. (MUST DO if nothing else) -if upgrading the shocks on the 12423 get shorter ones for the rear it will lower the rear end and make it more stable and more like a real short course truck. The stock rear shocks are like 90-110mm. I would put 80mm rear shocks on..but measure so that you how high it will sit. -break the motor in by going 10-50% throttle through about 2 battery packs. This seats the brushes and the motor will actually get a bit faster over time. -cheap 540 motor heat sink will help keep the motor cool. -optional for either wheel hub extenders to widen the wheel base...easy upgrade can be done anytime...later down the road if you want. Shop online and look for the best deal. aliexpress, banggood, ebay...right now one ebay I saw a 12423 for 74.98 with free shipping. Hope all this info. helps!
@@amw4736 OMG thank you for the suuuper quick response , i want more of an off-road RC car not a basher/jumper, so the 12428(12427) looks to be the better deal ( i saw comments that the new 12428 come with metal gears and diffs - if not i will buy metal replacements ). This will literally be my first RC car ever ( i'm 25 almost 26 and didn't got one as child ) and my plan is that is something breaks i replace it with an upgrade. Also , having that roll-cage make me feel safer about the car , i don't mind having more screws to play with ( i'm a dentist - used to working in tight spaces and small objects ) . Thank you very much !
@@darkki94 Great choice..put a heat sink on the motor..remember to do a slow break-in on the motor. This will help it run as fast as possible. lastly you HAVE to replace those front suspension links and get adjustable ones...that way you can straighten the front wheels. Then it will be perfect! later I do recommend upgrading to oil filled shocks...have fun!
I have the exact same RC cars in 1/12 scale wltoys 12423 but I'm doing upgrades on mine I put ordered a brushless motor kitI ordered a brushless motor kit brushless then I ordered better controller system and a better steering column then I'm upgrading the pinion gear on it and I welded the front and rear differential a straight four-wheel-drive pausing and I'm running a 3-cell lipowith a lot of aluminum parts on it now do you think that would be a good enough to take it on that RC track and have you done it toto modify it like mine and see if it would work and keep up with that let the other RC cars can you let me know if it was or not I'm running a 22t sprocket on the pinion gear and I'm running at 62 teeth maingear

Your driving was amazing and the car was actually pretty fast.
But still...your driving 👌

I wish they made a 1/10 scale version.
strange they didnt make 1/10, would sell well for people looking for a cheaper slash
@@user-md1ol7nj7h right?
At 0:24 , my guy you don't have to be scare of the rain... that shit is waterproof :)
Edit: ah I forgot bout' lightning
It's not actually
I've tried it
It’s just needs some more springy shocks in the front and it will do better.
That could work
Not to shabby!
Not at all. So far, I've liked every WLTOYS car I've run. Can't wait to try the 1:12 truggy
Nice Video! 😍👌 The Truck looks very good on the Truck! 😊
Nice to meet you there today. is Ipswich the park you were telling me about? I couldn't find it. lol

Yeah. It does better with steeper take offs.
CCxRC how fast is it

Sure is.

I'd like one of these wltoys rc car. 👍

Are these models still available, looks like a great youngster truck. Is the transmitter small enough for kids?
+Jahmen RC my 6 year old holds the controller just fine. They should still be available here bit.ly/WLTOYS12423
awesome same ago as my daughter good stuff man!! thx again.Time to go do some Jahmen.
Hey I'm new here just found you're channel you should review this and I believe the wltoys a969 shortcourse. Would you recommend this?
I have been waiting to review until I know how the plastic diffs are going to hold up.
But I do really like this and the a969 shortcourse. My son was running that one today. So quick

I love the Traxxas slash look on this one
Marshmello and much cheaper 😀☺
its faster than a Traxxas slash too
which traxxas slash? the 2wd or the 4x4? 4x4's are insanely fast. I overtook a T-Maxx with it on the track today.
I love everything
Great truck!!
+Wibo Ekema it is a great truck
I want to buy this car but which is good the original one for 61£ or another one?

I have a Wltoys truck to but it's a different one. It's mt260
Do you go to the Debbie's rc world in VA if so would like to meet you
Sure do! I was just there on Friday and Sunday. I just re-upped my membership, so I'll be up there running more again.
awesome run!
Cool video dude
I even want this for christmas
Cool! That's not too far away
Hi
2:11 xD that orange short course truck must be wondering why there is a truck like this one on the track.
No shock oil?
I'm going to move the battery down inside. Having it up in the back does Not enhance the handling.
It seems plenty fast to me 😁
What is the runtime
is there an rc store/shop in Ipswich
Alison Sargeant no. It is just a city park.
Nice! It has potential.
Yeah, it runs pretty good. I had a blast running it. I think it will be a lot better on the trails than on the track.
which is better wltoys 12428 or 12423?
Pretty much the same platform with different bodies. So it depends on the look you like.
can you review wltoys 12428?
I may buy one soon. Still deciding what purchases I want to make next.
Top speed ?
25-30 mph or 45-50kmph
U in the U.K.?
No. I'm in the US
Not bad at all for under €65 :)
