Indeed its just unique, and different thats what i love of this car, because i like to be different, Nissan said about this car you love it or you hate it
I’ve always liked the juke and I was pleased when they made the nismo, more so the RS. After owning one for over a year now I can say it still puts a smile on my face. These are seriously underestimated, usually by people who haven’t driven them. And they always surprise people at the lights and even around a B road. It’s a shame that 218bhp is considered low power these day, but it’s only because we are spoilt with tyre shredding hyper hatches. These days anything with less than 300bhp is pretty much written off, but this car is quick and round the B roads it does get the pulse racing. However, there are a few things I’d change/was disappointed with. The mpg is bad, even with a 6 gear manual the revs sit way to high at motorway speeds. And couple this with a tiny fuel tank it feels like you’re forever filling it up. Also the gearing is very short, which not only lengthens the 0-60 time but ruins the mpg. You are always changing gear when driving casually. But all in all I love it. It’s an under dog and who doesn’t like an under dog
I'm on my second Juke. OK it's not up to the standard of the Evo IX I had a few years ago but really, I DO love it. This one is Bright Yellow with a Bright yellow interior with black accents. 6 speed box, reasonable handling. Turbo lag is pretty bad but I'm not too bothered about that. All in all I think it's well with a punt. I give it 4 1/2 out of 5.
You are the first car reviewer that has said anything nice about a Juke. My wife has a 1.5 Diesel Tekna and although I didn't want her to get one I've come around to really liking it. She wanted the raised ride height to make it easier to get in and out, improved visabilty and because the road where we live get flooded often. She loves the spec, 360°/reversing camera, heated leather seats, 4 electric windows, DAB radio, Bluetooth for phone, sat nav, 50pmg, plenty of power for her. There are some very steep hills that it goes up without any problems. During lockdown when the motorways were empty I drove it at 115 mph, it was stable and unfazed. All round an excellent car that has been problem free. I would recommend one without hesitation.
I've got the awd face lifted 2016 Nismo RS version, got a great deal because of the polarizing looks - love it. the visibility for city driving is amazing, especially after adding the 360 camera for parking.
I've had one over 3 years now, 45000 miles, no problems...there is no in-between feelings about the Juke Nismo; it's either really disliked or really loved...i further appreciate the uniqueness of this being the last version produced. (America)
I own a 3 year old nismo rs and have to say there are many upgrades.Bigger front and rear discs ,lsd, bigger boot.Inearly sold it the other weekend but bailed as I couldn't honestly part with it.Ive just had her mot and not a thing wrong.Mpg round town in normal.mode is about 31mpg and long journey 41mpg in eco mode.Actually achieved 46mpg the other week not sure how.Untill you actually drive it and own one you never understand how easy it is to live with day in day out.Im so happy with mine I've looked at buying another for my partner who also loves it.Even my next door neighbour has bought one in silver but black is the best. The seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in and on long journeys I never get a bad back and on a motorway but don't get the recaro seats they are so hard to get in and out of compared to the heated nismo seats. It will Cruise happily all day long quite happily on the motorway very steady and surefooted.I took a gamble on this car and have to be honest I've never regretted it.Dont knock the rs version untill you try one.Its not everyone's cup of tea but still a brilliant car for the money.Cheap to tax cheap to insure cheap to service and very reliable.Only issues are the petrol tank is too small at 42litres with a range of 270miles that's my only gripe.Enjoy what is a fantastic little car. If you want to do an rs version review, your more then welcome to borrow mine anytime jay👍👍

I like stuff that's different and quirky, the Juke is one of those cars. Here in the U.S. it is available with AWD, even in the NISMO but sadly it's only paired to a CVT😋
I love mine. The headlights take a little to get over but with the right mods and the AWD it is actually very good. I love that its not like anything else out there.
I've owned my 2014 Juke Nismo RS for just over a year now and I love it! By far the second most fun car I've ever owned. (My SR20det swaped S13 will always be number 1) I love the juke but if I could change 3 things it would be to make the 6 speed manual available in an AWD, a bigger fuel tank, and a Sunroof option on the Nismo edition.... other than that it's a great car.... as long as you get the 6 speed manual and not the cvt automatic.... I test drove the regular Nismo and the Nismo RS and I can tell you the RS is much better! I happily dishes out the extra few thousand for the RS version.
After watchin this review 5 years later....I own the Nismo RS and a TTRS and also a Mecan Turbo. I use the Juke and Porsche almost as much as each other with the Juke bein my "shoppin" car. The juke in ECO mode brings in around 40+mp with a light foot, is super comfortable and fun to drive and does about 0-60 in almost 7 seconds. Just some opinions from a long time owner.(experiences may differ lol) The fuel economy is all over the board in reviews so lets put some clarity to it. I get 30-42 Mpg because I mostly drive 45mph in 6th gear for very long stretches, on the highway I get 25mpg at 70mph. The drive modes are basically useless to me so I just run sport mode for the heightened throttle response and nimble steering. Small mods make a huge difference with this car. A better breathing intake, better exhaust, maybe a better intercooler(stock placement is terrible). Final point, absolutely no problem in snow for me. I live in a rural area so I had to make my own paths in the morning, just be easy on the throttle.
Not all new MINI's are the same. The supercharged R53 generation 1 of the BMW is significantly different compared to the larger newer varients. Especially a slightly modified R53 purely for the supercharger whine noise increased lol
my mum has a nissan juke, she seems to like it but admits the car is a bit wallowing in the corners and not particularly agile and her experience great handling cars is pretty much none existent, i have driven it and i find it easy to drive if not particularly enjoyable.
I have a white Nismo AWD and i got to say i got a great deal on it the bucket seats are comfy, the 1.6 4 cyl has quite some power ,radio sounds good cool but different kinda reminds me of a mini version of the Rogue
i'm thinking of getting one as with living in London and currently driving a Vauxhall Antara 2012 which is not Ulez complaint , having a family i can see door handles at the rear which would suggest its 4 doors but does the rear windows open fully
Thank you for making good quality and informative videos. I would never buy a juke but your videos are just good unlike others that have become nothing but EV fanboys! Please don’t change!
had a juke diesel as a courtesy car when the grandparents Qashqai went into service. 110hp model. it was a weapon of a thing for a 1.5 diesel. they handle amazing aswel. but so does the Qashqai. just feels like a bigger ford focus round the bends.
@@MCMarioG99S0ccerFTW She doesn't have it any more, but it was still pretty much on family member levels of beloved! I'd like to drive a manual one myself sometime in the future if the prices drop a little bit more.
The biggest issue with Nissan (2006 onwards) is Renault - 2011 onwards is when the rot really set in, it really shows in the wiring - all white cables with very low core count - Nissans biggest flop was the E12 note what was dropped after 3 and a bit years, new prices dropped after 6 months by up to £9k - the pulsar is a another £20k-32K car no one wanted and is exclusive as a C6 as no one purchased them, at the end of the day Nissans cars are a Renaults in a Japanese suit. - - - - Vauxhall will go the same way now Peugeot has taken over, we already have the Vauxhall Berlingo Corsa Partner
The Juke is basically a Micra on stilts. It's deceptively small. Looks like it's a medium sized hatchback but it's really small inside. I drove my mates wife's Juke a few times, it was well equipped and nice enough inside, certainly not judging it or anyone who likes theirs, but for me, it's such a horrible car to drive, horrible clutch, horrible gear box, gutless as hell. Tiny boot too.
I had one, fab car, a bit Jeckyl and Hyde engine, on the M4 from West Wales to London I returned around 50mpg. Great fun to drive in sport mode down B roads, you can really lean on the chassis, one of the quickest car I've had point to point as its so light and nimble, and that's coming from Focus ST and Astra VXR. I eventually chipped the Juke to around Nismo RS power, much more fun then, boost would come in earlier. Great car, still miss mine, now drive a Mazda 3 MPS.
Yeah see I've always liked them, even though most car guys don't, I would consider one of only they fitted the Nismo RS with a DCT, then it would be great, small turbo engine, 4wheel drive, DCT and those bucket seats, would've been great
Loved the jukes when wmthey came out but these floppoed in comparison yo the tease of the juke r, still an awesome vehicle, wish the Honda fit had a sport version like this since its a more useful vehicle and moreso with the Honda reliability behind it
I f'n love the Juke. But then I'm the sort of person that thinks Citroën has designed some of the best cars ever. The Juke-R would have been a hoot. Until it wasn't...
They aren't great on fuel 😂 we usually get around 25mpg around the doors, and around the same on the motorway, it depends how you drive but you have to properly granny them to get somewhat ok milage
This is the old model. New model has 370z lights. I think it looks okay. Its just styling. These cars are not about power. They are decent quality. Try not to be as negative and morose as the comments.
I drove one two years ago as a courtesy car...truly awful in every respect...looks are subjective but I. My opinion the designer tried way to hard, the plastic interior was terrible...seats yes were good...but maybe if your 18-22 and want something different, and as a parent think it’s a good first car for your valuable child...then maybe it’s worth considering...but as a grumpy 45yr old I hated it...
Nissan uses tons of cheap plastic and steal that should be classified as tin. Garbage for the most part; but the mechanicals (save the CTVs) are very solid.
NISSAN has been one of my favorite badges since the ‘70’s. Looks like a great little grocery getter to me. 29.5 mpg is pretty good for a tall vehicle. I’d expect to have to keep a 1.6L turbo wound up a bit in a vehicle that large. I’m not a car-snob.....I enjoy a base Nissan Sentra 1.8L, NA, 5-speed
My uncle has a 1.5 manual iirc and it got ariudm 25mpg average. Which is shocking. not sure if your UK based or US. If you're in thd US, you need to recalculate that mpg ad 29mpg in UK is about 23mpg. Statside. At least their fuel is cheap
Bell and Colvill gave me a base model Juke when my Elise last went in for a service. Thought it was an absolutely horrible car. Virtually no redeeming features.
The Nismo was disappointing, Hence the Nismo RS...................Before I bought my RS my favourite car had been my Alfa 156 2.5 V6, But the Juke is more powerful, Better handling and ultimately a LOT more fun (Plus it doesn't break down all the time) Bought it new, had it nearly 5 years now 57k on the clock and I fuc
@@nigelwest3430 do you feel the lsd on the front pulling you in the corners? Stock suspension is rigid enough or you changed them? With 250hp it should be fun, still on stock clutch?
@@LorenzoClara97 Torque steer is noticeable when you really floor it, only tweaked the inlet and exhaust to allow it to breath more everything else is standard.
200bhp from a 1.6l is impressive enough. Had the same from my Astra GTC after a remap. Sadly these engines arnt that strong and wont last forever i fear. I dont like these modern small engine turbos i think they are underwhelming and cheap. Great review again James keep up the great work.

They're a very friendly bunch who are more than happy to share what their cars are like, personally I can't recommend the manual RS enough, it's a 6 speed manual with an LSD, you really can't go wrong!
A silly car. What seems to offer more cons than pros. There is better crossovers, better estates, and even better coupes, and even better all round SUVs. Also my uncle had one (non nismo) and its mpg was horrific, for the poor non performance. Though I'll admit it looks half decent in this spec. But not enough to even tempt me.
Juke, the most impractical, practical car i have ever driven. Hideous to look at and totally useless as an everyday car. Tiny interior says it all. A Nissan Note is much bigger inside with much more useful features and uses less road space. The Juke is for folk who want to look cool but haven't got a clue. If you need a practical car, just buy a practical car, if you want a sports car just buy a sports car, not something that is terrible at both and shows the world you're just trying too hard.

The fuel economy is all over the board in reviews so lets put some clarity to it.
Don't forget US MPG is different too
What model? Im considering a nismo awd cvt 2016 with 24k km
These are a guilty pleasure. If I wasn’t 6’3” I could be tempted for black rs variant.
Love that exhaust note. Not too much...just enough!
Nismo rules. In every form.
I want this or a Peugeot RCZ thp200. What do i get?
I've a normal juke and I love it but I really want a nismo
i'm thinking of getting one as with living in London and currently driving a Vauxhall Antara 2012 which is not Ulez complaint , having a family i can see door handles at the rear which would suggest its 4 doors but does the rear windows open fully
I can't stand these cars, the headlights alone are offensive haha!
WTF is a Qashqai
@@Forgan_Mreeman try google...….

- - - - Vauxhall will go the same way now Peugeot has taken over, we already have the Vauxhall Berlingo Corsa Partner
i love my 2015 nismo awd its like driving a lifter go cart with turbo flutter
Any update? Awd or manual
Yeah see I've always liked them, even though most car guys don't, I would consider one of only they fitted the Nismo RS with a DCT, then it would be great, small turbo engine, 4wheel drive, DCT and those bucket seats, would've been great
Loved the jukes when wmthey came out but these floppoed in comparison yo the tease of the juke r, still an awesome vehicle, wish the Honda fit had a sport version like this since its a more useful vehicle and moreso with the Honda reliability behind it
Lower suspension amd wheel spacers will look very good
I love my Juke Nismo, just needs some heavier maintenance than most cars.
I like it actually
Running a Nismo at 280whp. What a car.
Me watching as an american: "STOP DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE RO-wait.... forget you heard that.."
What are they like when recalled
I f'n love the Juke. But then I'm the sort of person that thinks Citroën has designed some of the best cars ever. The Juke-R would have been a hoot. Until it wasn't...
The juke tried to be unique.
You need to give it that.
My 2013 clio rs got around 28 mpg (sold it now because it was rubbish)
Was that a 197?
JayEmm on Cars no it was the Newer shape mark 4 with the crap gearbox which in my opinion ruined the car for me
whats the mpg like on these??
They aren't great on fuel 😂 we usually get around 25mpg around the doors, and around the same on the motorway, it depends how you drive but you have to properly granny them to get somewhat ok milage
This is the old model. New model has 370z lights. I think it looks okay. Its just styling. These cars are not about power. They are decent quality. Try not to be as negative and morose as the comments.
I love it. I love this sports crossover.
Good review, I prefer your older videos.
I own this😂
Still quicker and more aggressive than a 2.5l altima just saying
Its a lifted Micra
Thats a brilliant comparison
Could you review a 3/435d?
My BIL has a 435d xdrive vert
JayEmm on Cars great! Good video as always btw
Nissan owners would pull their pants down in public if someone convinced them there was an up side and something to like about doing it
I think is the most horrendous atrocity ever made on 4 wheels. I just can´t understand the modern tastes.
Cool little cars same engine as a clio RS but with a manual. Why Renault why if Nissan used a manual why didn't you
Love my juke!!
5:28 Take me home
West Virginia...
Loved my 2015. Feels like a Go-Kart to drive
Any update?
Bell and Colvill gave me a base model Juke when my Elise last went in for a service. Thought it was an absolutely horrible car. Virtually no redeeming features.
I like the duke but this nismo looks like it's been styled by a kid in gta
The Nismo was disappointing, Hence the Nismo RS...................Before I bought my RS my favourite car had been my Alfa 156 2.5 V6, But the Juke is more powerful, Better handling and ultimately a LOT more fun (Plus it doesn't break down all the time) Bought it new, had it nearly 5 years now 57k on the clock and I fuc
Update, I've now had it 8 1/2 years and I still fuc

I thought 29 was great.
Can't like the juke sorry just can't
There is also actually a Nissan Leaf Nismo...
So sad 😞
theres a nismo for leaf juke 370 and gtr. Its just styling. Each to their own
But did you complain about the PT Cruiser having the same exact platform as the SRT4's though? Who cares about badges, Don't buy it......Move on.
very quick car but after driving one it felt like it was going to fall apart... Typical horrible nissan
The Best Joke
A silly car. What seems to offer more cons than pros. There is better crossovers, better estates, and even better coupes, and even better all round SUVs.
Also my uncle had one (non nismo) and its mpg was horrific, for the poor non performance.
Though I'll admit it looks half decent in this spec. But not enough to even tempt me.
🙏🙏
Great video as always James !
Should be called the Nissan Joke 😂
Juke, the most impractical, practical car i have ever driven. Hideous to look at and totally useless as an everyday car. Tiny interior says it all. A Nissan Note is much bigger inside with much more useful features and uses less road space. The Juke is for folk who want to look cool but haven't got a clue. If you need a practical car, just buy a practical car, if you want a sports car just buy a sports car, not something that is terrible at both and shows the world you're just trying too hard.
I love my Nissy!! I’ve got the exact same model apart from she’s 2015.
