The fun thing about Khazix not having % damage ... he used to have it on his Q before it got removed. So his original iteration actually fits here aswell.
@user-jq2rw1hi5h max damage on what I suggested for kha zix would be 900 total true damage which requires level 16 and R evolve. For Sett, max true damage is probably over 8000
There's also a Void rift beneath Zaun that Malphite is currently blocking off with his ass like the king he his. Though in Arcane it might be the source of shimmer, so maybe he's hasn't done it for long
Or maybe "blocking" just means stopping most of it, remember how the original thing malphite was from got completely destroyed by the void? I don't know if Malphite will last forever
that's another thematic thing I like about Bel'veth as a character and as a champion in League. She carries herself as some sort of forward thinking, sophisticated void creature unlike all the rest, but she's really just as aggressive and all consuming as the rest of her kin, lol. It's great
Thats exactly why she doesnt click for me. Everything in her lore, personality and character design says "Mastermind", "controller", "cold blooded strategist", and then the gameplay is just "purple master yi with no brain". Plus the mantarray model and the fast slapping just don't work
@@nsotomayor6024in a strange way, it works very well. Here we have a void creature with delusions of grandiour. She thinks very highly of herself yet still attacks like a complete animal.
@@JDReC100 i love the concept you just described but i don't think thats Vel Beth, at least not intentionally. She is just a character where the gameplay and the concept are miles apart

Void is by far my favourite region, so much otherworldy power, so much enigma and so much story behind their destruction. It is said that before nothing existed, the void did and happily lived on this state of nothingness, then the universe started to exist and it was like the biggest pain concievable for the void and thus its relentless destructive march started. And even though its major desire is for nothing to exist, it is so efficient creating its destructive tools and upgrading them to be better at destroying whatever they are surrounded by.
I think lore wise that Cho'gath is the most terrifying void creature. I think us as players tend to forget that Cho'gath is actually REALLY intelligent because all we see him do in game is eat and I'd say that makes him absolutely horrifying. He's bigger than you, stronger than you, likely more intelligent than you, and uses everything at his disposal to consume you.
As a Cho'gath main i am begging riot for some lore. Bel'veth said to Kaisa to "find someone stronger than her". Please let that be Cho, the first voidborn and probably the one that embodies the void the most.
Feel like if they want to give Cho'Gath lore, make it so that way he consumes just about everything from what he eats, from nutrients to intellect. Which could be why he can say coherent voice lines and not just make monstrous noises like Rek'Sai
Friendly reminder that his taunt is "Death... is not the end for you! I have seen to it: for eternity, you are mine!". He's absolutely more than just a monster, and as opposed to some other voidborn who are mostly driven by their hunger, he's also driven by malice.
I think they did something like that many years back with Ionia vs Noxus event, where Ionia won and we got Ionian Boots of Lucidity introduced to the game
I love this region lore series. The league lore is so rich and interesting, and having Vars to explain it and point out how does it reflects on the champion's gameplay is amazing!
Most Void champion can feel very unfair to fight against, and as I much as I too hate facing them, I think it makes the void scarier, as in lore, they are supposed to be « unfair » (because they want to destroy the whole runeterra and are on the brink of doing it)
As a Chogath main, this video is such a treat, love the void champs and hopefully Riot does more with it rather than well....just leave it until they need to retcon something
Something else that helps accentuate the void's destructive force is that every voidborn that has hard cc has it in the form of a knock-up, one of the most powerful and destructive forms of cc in the game. I see this detail often overlooked, however I don't think its a coincidence that its not only on 4/6 of the voidborn, but also on a basic ability at that. It's one of the reasons why The Void is my favorite region of Runeterra, the devs have nailed the consistency of the region to a tee.
Love your videos man , could you possibly do A rough timeline on swain's life , and maybe make a series on in-depth battles and champions , I would love an hour long video explaining the ins and outs of the void wars and the darkins
One minor correction, while Kai'sa says she survived the "Void", she has never been to the Void dimension, rather she is referring to the Void corrupted lands of Shurima. It is still correct however, for her to call this the Void because those same Void corrupted lands are the same "Void" in which Bel'Veth claims to be. That aside, thank you for pointing out something many critics of Kai'sa's visual design will ignore "whether man or monster one glimpse at them and you'll know what region they come from", this is what Kai'sa means when she refers to when she calls herself a "monster", this is why the shurimans fear her in the lore.
Until I watched your series, I neve really noticed that different regions have different kit designs focused on where the champ is from! So glad I found you all that time ago vars, keep up the awsome work!

Thank you so much for this video! I started playing league with Vel’kos and have been a void player ever since. Will say the reason the void wants to destroy is because there was anything there was the void and when stuff started to exist it made the void realize that it did and it hates it so much.

One more thing about Malzahar is if you keep his E's and Voidlings unchecked in lane, it could eventually get to you as punishment. Also, during the late game, just like a cult leader himself, you may sometimes end up questioning how 2 lanes are simultaneously crawling with voidlings while Malzahar himself is nowhere to be seen.

W - Expansion Cloud: Sha' dim creates a thick cloud in an area that expands slowly for 5 seconds, slowing and dealing damage. PASSIVE BONUS: Allies inside the cloud get tenacity and slow resist. E - Clutches of the End: Sha' dim instantly stretches its body to all directions in the form of voidlike arms, dealing damage to all enemies hit. PASSIVE BONUS: Allies near Sha' dim get an Attack Speed and Ability Haste bonus for the next 3 seconds. R: Exowordly Surprise: Sha' dim disappears and, after a brief delay, teleports to a point in a distance of up to 1000 units, dealing true damage and slowing all enemies. Takedowns increase the perimeter of the teleport point. PASSIVE BONUS: Allies inside the teleport circle get a decaying shield. Of course, the passive bonuses are interchangeable but I designed them having in mind offense and defense according to the ability's theme. man, i love the concept of the void, but I can be mad about reading kai'sa's lore and them see her visuals and think that are 2 diferent champions. But I understand the riot's point, monsters don't sell skins and so on.....
Out of all the void champions, Vel'Koz might be the least hated and most balanced, at least arguably. If you ask people about him, you rarely hear anyone hating him and in fact a lot of people seem to respect the damage and pressure he gives to their team, making the game overall easier to them. Sure, if the Vel'Koz is bad they're going to be a problem for the team but that applies to all champions, and with how unpopular the artillery make archetype is (at least compared to other mid archetypes), there's not a lot of people who play him and as a result, most who do have a lot of experience. As for balance, all you need to know is that until the mage reworks that also affected Vel'Koz, he had some of the least if not the least amount of major changes made to him, for many years. Pretty much all of them were just very small adjustments and bug fixes, nothing that ever really affected him all that much. Then they tried to do what was basically a mini-rework for him and that lead to a lot of trouble but since things calmed down, Vel'Koz has once again returned to his former quiet existence.
Huh, I didn't realize till when you were talking about how Void champs all center around dealing damage and killing, that there isn't a single Void champ that was designed to be a support. Sure Vel'Koz is played there, but he was originally designed to be a midlaner. Interesting
Something interesting for void champions: their only hard cc are knockups and malz ult suppress. For a region that is so focused on dealing damage and annihilating existence, they all in on damage and dont really offer utility
The concept of the void is Destroy and devourer(in same way ish) adapt to be better at it then do it again. Their goal is to silent the world(destroy it completely) to do so they have to learn about the world and feed on it is the most easiest way.
10:50 love that Vel is such a crap champ Vars just didnt have the energy to go find a clip of him carrying a fight or anything. Most of them just look like >R
Haha remember when we all thought the void event was gonna be a big story like the Ruination? Turns out all it did was just released Bel'Veth and that's it.
May I remind you that three of Vel'kozs abilities have significant utility? Q deals a lot of damage yes, but it also slows the target substantially for a respectable amount of time. E deals relatively small amounts of damage, but is coupled with a knock-up and knock**back**, both CCing and displacing the enemies hit. And lastly, Vel'kozs ult slows all enemies caught inside. Sometimes, his ult can be used simply to keep an enemy from escaping his teammates.
isnt it funny how this video came out and one week later riot revealed the 2024 preseason changes that are all void themed , with the new baron rift herald and all
Rek’sai has utility in her tremor sense passive ^^ only one small counter example for the “void champs have no utility” argument but she’s my favorite and my main so not leaving her out
The void is the embodiment of being zero and calling all life to return to zero. It's calling to us, to return back into the void, back into nothingness.
we need a video about Icathia because we only have a few champs in the game and yet there are so diffrent from one another, For example Zilean and Jax.
I want Riot Forge to make a metroidvania with the Void as its setting. Make Kai'Sa or Kassadin the main character, maybe have Kha'Zix as an alternate game mode when you beat the main game.
I’m wondering if you have thoughts on champions that has association with more than 2 factions? Like Sona who has Ionian roots but grew up in Demacia and Udyr who is Freljordian but learned alot of his discipline from Ionia.
Void champs also have very little lore as a whole. Cho and Kog have none afaik, Malz only recently got some (being a bel'veth simp) Kai'sa's lore makes no sense, Kassadin is trying to salvage Kai'sa's lore as all good fathers should Vel'koz is a murderhobo nerd who flies around somewhere Kha just wants to eat things in the jungle

If Riot’s MMO allows me to talk to Vel’koz and not have to kill him in a boss fight I’ll be happy.
Vel is my favorite void champ.
Tell ne you haven't actually ready void Lore without telling me you haven't ready void lore
Thanks to LoR we know what runeterras hell is, the Grey realm, mordekaiser/Sahn-Uzal's realm of death
I’d love a lore video like this on Targon
Can't wait for the Shurima episode!
Absolutely based of you to use the Distortion World theme for this one
The void is the embodiment of being zero and calling all life to return to zero. It's calling to us, to return back into the void, back into nothingness.
6:21 Vayne is a void abomination, confirmed.
we need a video about Icathia because we only have a few champs in the game and yet there are so diffrent from one another, For example Zilean and Jax.
"We scale"
-the void
How about a class update retrospective. Would really enjoy that. I mean the ones where they reworked all the champs at one time
I want Riot Forge to make a metroidvania with the Void as its setting. Make Kai'Sa or Kassadin the main character, maybe have Kha'Zix as an alternate game mode when you beat the main game.
I still love Riot keeps the character design consistently, n' yes, ain't them being the biggest menace in both soloq n' pro play
I’m wondering if you have thoughts on champions that has association with more than 2 factions? Like Sona who has Ionian roots but grew up in Demacia and Udyr who is Freljordian but learned alot of his discipline from Ionia.
please add more regions to this series
i NEED more of these
shurima, ixtal, targon bilgewater, shadow isles, piltover & zaun, camavor(?)
The pokemon dpp soundtrack goes incredibly hard
Void champs also have very little lore as a whole.
Cho and Kog have none afaik, Malz only recently got some (being a bel'veth simp)
Kai'sa's lore makes no sense, Kassadin is trying to salvage Kai'sa's lore as all good fathers should
Vel'koz is a murderhobo nerd who flies around somewhere
Kha just wants to eat things in the jungle
Nice bait troll. Kaisas lore makes way more sense
Now I want a void support who corrupts the allied adc
Will you do a serie about all regions/affiliations?
I like how you need to be as intelligent as Vel'Koz is in the lore to play him at even a decent level. Bravo Riot.
So what ur saying is we wont be getting a void support any time soon
