    Nice work , but there is a much simpler way of doing this which i have done for years. I use ikea frames for the internals no drilling and screwing they all accept all the ikea rails drawers etc much easier to put together in a house that is occupied. I then buld a small stud wall around clad it in 6mm mdf which the customer usually paints the same as the existing walls. then it looks like the doors have been fit into an existing alcove. As far as the bottom track goes, i fit a peice of 75mmx30mm to floor shim up until flat and level then fit the doors in between.

    Please tell me how you determine what width the side wall should be initially? And how do you determine how much you need to saw off from the side wall? You put the wall perpendicular to the floor, but what should be the offset from the wall?

    • @CAVjoinery
      @CAVjoinery  Год назад +1

      It’s actually harder to explain by commenting I’m afraid you wouldn’t be able to understand it .is very simple once you understand the principle of that 18mm scribe,is like moving filler 18mm forward

    • @SpecialVeloce

      So theses plastic jigs are holding your piece in place so you can scribe it there are 3 common sizes 16mm(yellow)18mm(green) and 19mm[blue]

  • @SynQ86
    @SynQ86 Год назад +2

    I actually screw the backboard onto the carcass, so my screwheads are into the backboard, but you screw the sides into the back, wich makes you have the screwheads into the sides. I realize that doing it your way is a better and easier way to make sure your carcass is square, since when you cut the backboard square the carcass has no other way then to be square, if the backboard is square offcourse lol. Although your method will only work when you use like 16-18mm backboards. I tend to use 8mm and then it's not really an option doing it your way. Also you never use biscuits to align? :) Anyway, great video sir!

    • @LykeArgy
      @LykeArgy Год назад +1

      Yeah your method is definitely stronger if someone bangs a box to the back accidentally from inside, but yeah other than that his method is a bit easier.
      I was also wondering about biscuits (or dominoes, he does have festool afterall haha), seems to me like a better and a bit stronger way to align the piece, but i would also use screws, my boss does it this way, 2 biscuits 10cm from each end and 3 screws, but considering he has a particle board base where the cabinets sit on top, strenghth doesnt really matter that much in this case, cause the load is evenly distributed, if he was doing cabinets with legs going directly on them, then i would for sure use biscuits.

    • @kelavx
      @kelavx Год назад

      In balkan countries we use 4mm mdf and stapples 16mm never had issues with something falling apart.ofcourse this way is better and stronger
