I think it's hilarious how "what's your name" was followed up with "I don't know". Like imagine if that was an actual conversation
"what's your name?"
"I don't know"
😂😂
Really good video as a young leader at girl guides I like to know a little extra than needed one thing I would like to sign is directions
Good luck
How would you sign "Do you have any liquids or electronics in your bag, like Ipads, kindles, creams, make up, water etc?" I was wanting to learn how to sign that when deaf passengers come into the airport I can ask them, instead of having a hard time trying to communicate to each other and them ending up missing their flights
3 years ago, did u find out in the end?
Fabulously clear - Thank you. Repetition also good. Minor suggestion - could you show the written word fractionally BEFORE the sign, then it is established and we can anticipate the word and fully concentrate on the sign.
Brilliantly clear - thank you!!
That was really helpful, easy to follow as well. Thanks for posting this :D
This was an excellent video! Thank you
This video is really useful.
It's baby Dan!
Oie Obrigada por postar esses vídeos!! Me ajudam muito!!!
This is reallynice thankyou!
amazing!
How does the word order work? Some tutorials say "name your what?" and some say "your name what?" Is there a difference or is it just preference?
I'm hearing and barely know BSL, but I had my first lesson yesterday and the teacher (who is hearing impaired) said you could use either order. The most important thing is that the content comes before the question (so name before what).
BSL is somewhat flexible. But, generally, WHAT will always come at the end (accompanied by a furrowed brow). NAME WHAT is fine. Or just the sign NAME and an index finger pointing at whatever / whoever you want to know the name of. The facial expression will convey the rest of the information.
Thanks x

To ask "where is the black cat?" would I sign WHERE BLACK CAT, in that order OR does the where always come last?
Questions go at the end, to my knowledge. So you'd sign "black cat where" :)
loved it
I know this video is very old but if anyone is able to answer some questions I’d appreciate it.
1) What is the very first sign in the video? I know he’s saying ‘how to ask questions in BSL’ and the signs are ‘?? sign language question’. It’s didn’t look like ‘how’ as shown later
2) I had trouble telling which way his hands were rotating for who and where. Does it matter?
How do I ask him, What's your telephone number?
Gary Morin but if you or the person you want to community with is deaf..? Telephones???
Lucie Brown you can text tho?
Paul Mcclean ye, I guess but most ppl use generic text apps nowadays. Yeah tho
I know this is old but point at the person using your index finger, than do the what symbol ( index finger going side to side in front of chest) followed by a using your hand as a phone (pinkie and thumb extended, against your head)
Gary Morin 😉 love it! 😂....did you get the answer 🤔
Hi I'm deaf #annitamendez on FB live in trinidad . Best understand be agree half (tsl) same u skill to learn alright in bsl. Celebrated.
isn't it "name your what", not "your name what" like at 1:12? Or does the word order not matter that much? Also I seen some people sign "your" just by pointing a finger, and others like yours by pointing a fist. Are these perhaps the difference between "your" and "you", or just regional differences. Cheers :)
Please could you add subtitles.
Do you have to sign with a certian hand
THNX
This was like asmr
Merci toi
Fine..Except I think there should be more facial expression when asking,as the 3rd party would essentially looking at your face..
i wish all sign language was the same , doing it at college yet its diff too videos , wonder why that is
I know this question is old,but it is really just dialect, regional variances. I have found a site called BSL Signbank. It is basically an online sign dictionary, but it has regional usage coverage, so there are several videos for some words, especially numbers.

Too quick and not as clear as the newer videos. Think I won't keep this video.
