@@robinrhodes8399 The difference between a 4.5 and a running a 3.8 is about 5000 hp.... Best they stay in a class they hold the record in, then try to compete in a class where they won't stand a chance.........

I'm a true TURBO guy, I met you at Gateway this year and this just proves how great turbos are, This is the first time I have subscribed, liked or commented on a post since I am not a computer guy, still run carbs with my turbo. You just blew the minds of all the Pro Mod guys keep it up Mike.
Turbos or not, the most important thing is the rules...
I dont know exactly what are the rules, but USUALLY you have Nitro, Roots blown, Screw blown, Turbos and Centrifugal superchargers.
Nitro cars have the biggest engines, lowest weight, while Turbos and Screw blowers are more limited both on engine and weight.
These turbos dont even have a waste gate and boost is in the roof.
Years ago (2017 i think) John Zappia runs an screw supercharged car at 5.42 @ 265...
We also have the fastest side by side run with 5.46@272mph (Turbos) -vs- 5.47@263mph (Screw) and that was in 2014...
My point here is:
What they can do with all we have now, with the rules?
If we go back to 2014 with rules of the Pro Extreme or Outlaws... Those numbers can drop even more.
Funny cars with screw superchargers are limited to 92%... Those ''owtlaws'' are running with 128% i think...
(same as a Top Alcohol Dragster).
Remember that we have almost a decade of evolution from 2014 to here.
If im not mistaken, Frankie Taylor (Screw blown pro mod) was running with mechanical injection at the time.

It may be refreshing but they can’t do this all the time. I mean they had to have specifically designed parachutes from Stroud Safety to even get this car stopped. Cars that heavy at those speeds is a recipe for disaster. And I love the World Cup and love watching the Door Cars at it. Buts it’s a gamble every time and if one of those guys ever gets sideways at the big end, it’ll all make sense as to why
@@AdamMc2003ehh you do know eventually they will have to lengthen the end of tracks because the average promod will be running 6.0s, the average pro street bike will run 5.0s, hydrogen jet cars could make a return because they run 400mph 1/4s at 3.2, and there could be another engine advancement boom and top fuel teams could figure out a new recipe. Not to mention batteries are advancing rapidly and eventually we will get electric drag cars, that have instant torque. Drag racing has been slowly progressing for a bit something is bound to change.

Have to believe lots of racers are going to be getting rid of their wastegates on the exhaust side and mimic what Micke is doing. Seems Micke has likely created a new paradigm. 5.35 is only 4 hundredths off the TAFC national record!
It probably has a hidden wastegate. You can't run without one.
@@johncarl5505yes you absolutely can, you put it on the charge side to bleed off air via a waste gate or electric throttle body. This method keeps turbine speed up the entirety of a run.

Whats the set up? Engine size, turbo sizes and is it got nitrous or nitro? Not like it matter just curious. Didnt think id live to see a door car close in on 300mph and almost 4 seconds. That waa top fuel stuff when I was going to the track back in the 90s and early 2000s. That some badass shit there. Marke did allot of testing with the Malibu at our home track here in KC at kcir which isn't thete anymore.

Not trying to knock his impressive performance. Wicked quick pass! But these cars are 100% computer controlled with a very advanced digital EFI and traction control engine control system. If you took all that away, made them run a Mag and Mechanical fuel injection like a TAFC they wouldn't even be close. Just sayin.

I'm from Canada, Vancouver BC! about 48 miles from downtown ! MISSION SPEEDWAY was originally right beside the city across the train tracks on the city's non development land ! the executives of the BCCA car club with major help from the city's commerce built a modern public race track with a NHRA charter in 14 months ! the track was historic due to it's powerful atmosphere and attitude, 12 feet abouve sea level, every pro racer was there period ! as a kid I saw Ed Roth's YELLOW FANG dragster getting roughed up during qualifying ! local north west NITRO legend's Dave Benjamin and Jerry Ruth were right there helping "big daddy roth" get in the show ! so we move the track away about 8 miles in the 1980's on a extremely flat riverfront, thats the track today, 100% concrete, NHRA div.6 charter, this track holds the most sportsman records in the world ! in 2016 the California OUTLAW pro modified association was booked ! I had only seem IHRA and NHRA pro modified cars run 5.90's ! Mike Maggio from Los Angeles ran a 5.35 ! I saw it ! so my question is what rules ? Maggio's outlaw car was 2290lbs. no restriction's to any power adders.

That's an subjective opinion that car with the right setup could go in the 20's with quite of few northern race tracks with better air. Those guys up North know how to prep tracks from 140 temps down in the the 50's temps.

@@TronVila Tom’s car has run those times with the radiator, fuel system, etc. Just changes the back tires, takes off the 2nd fuel pump drive belt and goes. My whole point is it’s ridiculous to say this promod is special because the doors open and close. It’s a track car.
