Thanks, Yes a Pat Musi 959Ci Motor, and there is a Chute Release button on the Steering Wheel he Pushes.

Growing up around drag racing. All I ever wanted was to watch the shift light and pull all the cool levers and hoping to have the talent as to pull them also at the correct times. My fathers Funny car had manual shift levers on a 3 speed B&J . A manual lean out lever and a pneumatic retarder. He did it all in under 6 seconds. Now all you do is let go of a button😔
Very impressive performance! I sure miss the days of having to drive the cars though. I've been 6.60 209 in a nitrous pro mod car, but we pulled Lenco levers for gear change and actually pulled a chute lever! No hate, just miss the old days

Automatic transmission?
Yeah it’s automatic but it’s a weird transmission I think pro mods used the kind of transmission in funny cars where it uses like a bunch of clutches instead of traditional gears

are they locking the converter up in low gear? the in car footage of first run you can hear the RPM's change but the shifter didn't move .

Tim builds cars don't drive any more. Let him come show us all how to drive these cars manually at 5.5 secs at 255 mph. Some tracks also have radio transmitters to automatic pull the chutes in these cars just for safety these days if the driver forgets to push the chute button on the driving wheel.

Tim mcamis would drive one of these no problem with a manual. Again I don't have a problem with automatic transmission's but the piston parachute....come on man, he is doing nothing but holding on.
