Although she was in the wrong for what she did. Nevertheless, she is a human being who quite frankly didn’t the skill and was so young to ruled a country. Even when she tried, it was too late, those who are too young to understand or even to have power shouldn’t be in control. I believe she should be punish but also to view her as a monster is by far from the truth. And the sad part about it, the her children have to suffer from the deaths of both parents and being torture by the people of France, in they should not be punish.

kinda hard for me to feel bad for royals in this position. people and their children were starving to death meanwhile these people are living it up without a care in the world. can't blame anyone for feeling enraged

They tried but Antoinette wanted to stay with Louis and they got caught as the journey was slower with all of them in one carriage. Why just why. They could’ve saved themselves but LOUIS XVI was selfish and wanted to stay so Antoinette stayed.
On the other hand If the royal had gotten away marquis Lafayette would have been executed for allowing that to happen, and there would not have been his travels and timeless writing about America

Yes but death to the monarchy! Sometimes innocents need to be put in the ground for the greater good as collateral damage. See the bigger picture.

The starving were offered a good supply of potatoes as an alternative to grain, but they turned it down because of their silly superstitious beliefs.
