Mate just got your book - bloody brilliant read. I’ve already cooked your flatbread recipe. Bloody delicious, beats damper that’s for sure. Keep up the great work
Congrats on the new addition to your family! If I had to guess on Prado changes it would be redesigning the passenger row and rear storage to accommodate the little one and the addition of a camp trailer/kitchen……
Yes, having kids does change things, I suspect if you need to Prado for the baby, and a lot of people chose a vehicle like this for baby duty, then you'll need to be able to get the pram in the back and all the changes of clothes, nappy bags etc. It would make more sense to put the kitchen in the trailer, but maybe this is a work vehicle and the baby will only be onboard for weekend trips. Can't see fred and the baby sharing the back seat, so yeah, some changes are likely coming.
I wanted a patrol and the missus wanted a prado. So I thought I'd take her to a dealership to check them both out and convince her that patrols are better... and I walked out wanting a prado lol. Picking one out in the next couple weeks
I love this build! I would just be wary of that stainless snorkel and the associated airbox if you go that route. It is very possible and I have seen first hand the snorkel will collect rain water and it will pool in the airbox. This was on a 2021 Hilux, so a different setup but similar. Filter was soaking wet after about 45 mins of rain driving, something to keep an eye on. Also the "restrictive air intake" that was cut out is actually a very effective way of getting rid of dust before it hits the filter. The pre-spinner forces it out into the smaller tube into a catcher on the bottom of the airbox. It's not as good as the older style Toyota airbox's (which were brilliant, it's a shame they've gone to this) which we're a round cylinder filter and the entire airbox operated off this principle, But it does help. Aftermarket airbox's a lot of these companies make with see through lids, 887458973 bolts to undo the lid, very small surface area panel filters (or worse a pod filter) are also terrible for a 4wd, mainly due to filter choice. A paper filter is the industry standard as far as filtration effectiveness goes. unfortunately the lack of room in a Prado makes it hard to fit a proper airbox actually designed for a 4x4, So it will be a challenge to find something suitable. Ideally a older style Landcruiser box or Donaldson style box would be fitted, but I doubt you will be able to package it. Just something to think about, hopefully you come up with a solution.
Very interesting. That snorkel tho! 🔥 Seeing your build gives me lots of ideas. I need to get a better onboard water solution for example. Looking forward to seeing the next installment.
Alloy is lighter and still very strong, plus just install a rust prevention electric system. My 2013 hilux has had one since new. Alloy n metals mixed. Still no rust at all to this day.
If you buy a Chinese 2 Channel 12v 10A relay...you’ll be able to turn them on, on demand from your mobile with an app using Bluetooth. It’s how I operate all my gear remotely. It’s awesome!
WOW Harry, congrats on the great news for you both. Fantastic!! I’m really enjoying your FTF Cookbook during NSW lockdown. I’ve tried a few of your recipes In the campfire pressure cooked which I imported. Lovin the Pork and it cooks in half the time. I’ll have to share some secrets on this product with you some time!! I’m also in fierce agreement with you regarding the KAON under body protection on my FJ Cruiser, I haven’t got their shock protectors yet, but I certainly think I will.
Builds coming along nicely. Aspect guys are great. Luckily for me they are close by. Love the rock lights hooked to factory wiring. I wonder if that harness is there on the GXL 🤔 something to check out!
Definitely one of the best prado builds around, good luck with the baby. Would you recommend a flat back prado if fuel capacity wasn't an issue or would the back window have a dust seal issue?
If you’re not going offroad a flat tailgate might be ok. But the big fuel tank and spare wheel being in a useful spot is much better for offroad use. I also thing the flat tailgates wouldn’t have as good resale value
You’ve said in a past video “turn your adblocker off” because it helps - out of interest, do you do any better out of people with paid YT premium memberships? Do you get to see any of that data? Just wondering what’s the best way to direct my viewing to you

@Fire to Fork, Harry, with all the gears locked and loaded, do you have a hard time to stay at the top gear (6th) on highway? If you do, will you consider re-gearing your diff later down the track?
Hey harry, been in the market for a prado for awhile now. I love the colour of your car man, I'm just wonder does the darker colour effect the cabin heat much or should I go a lighter colour thanks
Did you say you rejected aluminum under vehicle armour, due to not wanting to mix metals, then strap on an aluminum snorkel to that same mild steel vehicle? Is that not somewhat inconsistent?
Stainless snorkel isolated by rubber where it goes through the body and inside the guard. Water tank is also on rubber mounts that isolate it. There are some things that need to be stainless (intake and water tank are examples) but steel underbody armour is much stronger and has the double benefit of not mixing metals.
They offer a GVM upgrade. Fox, King, ARB, Radflo, Superior etc are great systems but none of them do a GVM upgrade without dedicated engineering which is very very expensive. I also love the Dobinsons gear for its adjustability in different configurations
Listening to you say all the things that are crap from Toyota, Air bix, Bash plates, Reverse Cam etc etc really makes me wonder why you wasted so much on the Toyota Tax. You should of just brought a Pajero and saved yourself some money lol. Kaon seem to making quite a name for themselves lately. Might have to look into their products myself.
congratulations on the safe arrival of your newest family member 😃😃😃😃😃.
Good luck on being a father Harry.

I’m tipping you’ll make a clip the day the babies born or the next day ,just from pure excitement, I know I was 😊🇦🇺
Nothing like going camping for the quiet and having someone biking within 2klm of your camp, away from theirs.
Imagine going to the bush to ride and having some bloke filming a story on his car there

See, the problem here is now I want to get and mod a Prado.
curtisy lights . looks like you need a wheel alignment?
You should do a video on your decision making on getting this prado and what you were considering instead with pros and cons.
I did that in episode 1

10 years? My old hilux is almost 30 years and still going strong. Would still trade with you though haha!
hello
why do i have a feeling it's about to be dual cabbed?
Looks like a great build Harry, but wont your spotlights take most of the hit first as they are sitting just that little bit in front of the bullbar?
They are perfectly in line with the front of the bar. I’ll also happily bin the spotties to save the car
Rear bar with swing arms holding the spare tyre coming next video???
Working on something very unique at the moment
Hi Harry, can you pls send me a link for the right Air Bag set for the rear of our car. Thank you. Greetings from Germany Enrico 🤗
It’s the Airbag man setup mate
Hows it going dad
Congratulations on becoming a dad. Are you turning the Prado into a duel cab Ute?
If a Prado is a 10 year Tourer
A 100 series must be a 30 year Tourer
My 80 series was a 30 year tourer. Kinda. Except for the 3 gearboxes, 3 diffs, 4 transfer cases, 2 head gaskets etc.
You’ve said in a past video “turn your adblocker off” because it helps - out of interest, do you do any better out of people with paid YT premium memberships? Do you get to see any of that data? Just wondering what’s the best way to direct my viewing to you
I think it works out exactly the same with YT premium - they pay the same as if there were ads. I use YT premium
Daddy Harry
Are you taking out the drawers and housing them externally somehow (thinking pram etc in back)?
Yay for babies
My only issue with stainless snorkels is none of them have beads on there connections its just straight pipe hoping the silicon seals it
Yes but they are under negative pressure so popping off is not an issue.
And hose clamps and silicone bits are bloody strong!!
@@firetofork what do you mean negative pressure there not a sealed unit and I've seen them come off so can you explain what you mean there maybe im not understanding properly
They are not under any pressure. They are also held on by a bracket on the pillar and one behind the guard. Not by the silicone like the cheap models
